One…Two…Three… and the cold and darkness were gone. She looked down as they circled her soon to be new home. She couldn't believe it. She was in the weyr. She watched in amazement as they circled. There were so many dragons to see. She tried to spot all of them. She saw greens and blues. Over there she saw bronzes so big her eyes grew wide. She turned her head another way and there were browns like the big one she rode. She wanted to squeal with delight.

Aavyn couldn't help it. She had always wanted to see the weyr. She knew she was far to young to ever impress. But, she was growing and she could always stand when she was old enough. She couldn't get enough. Her head whipped back and forth trying to catch all the sights.

Once they were on the ground she was amazed at how large the dragons seemed. She was nearly overwhelmed. She spun in a circle. Suddenly she caught sight of something that made her stop short. Her breath caught as she saw the most beautiful sight. It was a dragon, but not just any dragon. She gleamed in the sunlight. Her golden hide caught the light just right.

Aavyn just stared. She had never seen a Golden Queen Dragon before. She was beautiful. Aavyn breathed a sigh of appreciation. She could die happy now. Suddenly she noticed the laughing behind her. She turned to see her mother and M'tonin chuckling at her. She turned a pretty shade of pink and ducked her head.

"No worries little one. Most newcomers have a moment of wonder when they behold a gold dragon for the first time. They do that to you." M'tonin smiled down at her.

She returned his smile hesitantly. She was definitely going to like it here she decided.
