I've Got the Blues

Writers: Chelle, Emma
Date Posted: 25th June 2010

Characters: E'rae, An'dr
Description: Leith and Pluserth have a chat while sitting by the water.
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 9, day 14 of Turn 5

Leith had just finished a herdbeast. With a full stomach, the
blue wondered if he would slink off to his weyr or if he might sun
on the rim. }:I could float in the water:{ His head swiveled and he
saw how clear the water was. There were a few other dragons
about. Wandering in that direction, he saw a younger blue. }:Good day, young one:{

E'rae could feel Leith's full stomach and it made him a little sleepy.
Focusing more on what he was doing, he went back to the
charts he was studying. They had fall soon.

}:And to you,:{ came a courteous response. An'dr looked up to see just who
his blue was talking to, spotting another blue.

}:I had good meat today:{ Leith shared, knowing that all dragons
could appreciate a good meal.

}:From a young herdbeast?:{

}:Yes, it was not an easy catch:{ Leith was used to hunting more than
most dragons since his rider took him to the jungle quite often for
game.

}:In our feeding pens?:{ There was a note of curiosity in Pluserth's voice,
but like most young dragons, food was something that was remembered.

}:This time it was:{ The wild herds were usually more stringy.

}:You could show me one like it sometime?:{ queried the younger blue.

}:Maybe. Does your rider ever take you hunting somewhere else?:{ Leith
happily sat in the cool water, his blue hide blending in with the ripples.

}:Sometimes,:{ admitted Pluserth. }:When our duties allow us.:{

}:You could go with us. Tell your rider:{ Dipping his head underwater, the
blue lost sight of everything else before he came back up.

}:Maybe I will,:{ it was a thought, but one that he shared with Leith.

}:Were you hatched here?:{ It seemed the blue was in the conversational
mood, which was more often than not in his case.

}:I was. I chose my rider from the stands. He was special.:{

}:That's nice. Mine came to my egg and got me.:{ Leith was pretty sure that
E'rae might have cut the egg open himself if he had asked. Of course the
blue did well enough on his own.

}:He knew he was for me, he had to convince the others though,:{ An'dr had
told Pluserth the story often enough, leaving out the bit about bursting
into tears trying to get to him.

}:What others?:{ Leith didn't remember any others on his Hatching day. Of
course the blue didn't remember much. He used E'rae's memory more often than not.

}:Other riders, or so my rider says.:{

Leith accepted that willingly and was quiet for a time while he enjoyed the
water. }:I wonder if any pretty greens are flying today:{

}:My rider says pretty greens often have pretty girl riders,:{ commented
Pluserth, }:That's what he likes.:{

}:Mine likes any green. I'm the one that wants them pretty:{ Leith mentally
chuckled.

Pluserth chuckled also. }:I think my An'dr wants to go.:{

}:Good day to you then. See you some other time:{ Leith told him jovially.

}:Another time.:{
