Description: E'rae finds a hurt holder boy as he walks back to his weyr.
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 10, day 7 of Turn 5
After a drink or two, E'rae was walking back to his weyr. The bluerider
had had a long day and was ready to hit the sack. His furs were sounding
better by the minute. He had promised Werenn that he would spend some
time with her the next day. Coming around a corner, he thought he saw a
shadow. Moving a bit more slowly, he was wary.
"H-hello...?" came a voice from behind a thicket of trees.
Unsure of what it might be, he stopped and looked in that direction.
"Aye?"
From behind the trees staggered a battered and bleeding boy. His clothes
were tattered and his feet were bare and muddy. One eye was swollen
shut and he held his right arm like it must have been broken.
Falling to his knees before the rider, he blurted out, "is this the Weyr?"
"Aye?" E'rae immediately went into overdrive, trying to think of what he was supposed to do. "What's happened? Who are you?"
The boy began to cry, reaching out and grabbing E'rae's legs. "Please!
Please, you won't send me back, will you? Can I stay?"
**Oh Faranth** "Back to where? Who are you?" He knew as well as anyone
that it was the Weyrleader's choice whether anyone could stay on at the Weyr if it was an odd situation.
The child sat down, crying. "I've come from Jade Harbour Hold," he managed to say between sobs. "I'm Angshel." Covering his face in shame, he continued, "they called me an abolition....they said I only belong with the Weyrfolk....please can I stay?"
"An abolition? For what?" Oh feck. There were so many that ran away from home. They couldn't always take them all in. And they already had so many mouths to feed.
The boy tried to gain control of his emotions. "I...I was caught...with another boy...we were in the woods, I thought no one would know...but they did," he whispered, hanging his head in shame. "They said I deserved to die, and they beat me. Maybe I do deserve to die."
"Can you make it to the healers then?" Once he got the kid to the infirmary, it was no longer his responsibility.
"I don't know, where are they?" the child asked, glancing around. The shirt fell away from his neck, revealing bruises where someone had tried to strangle him.
The sight of that went deep into the bluerider. That could have been him, had he ever allowed it to happen. Refusing to give into the immediate anger that threatened to cloud his thoughts, he kept thinking about what to do. "Hold on..."

It didn't take long for Leith to make his way to his rider, landing there in the sand by the cliffs that led to the weyrs. The blue saw the child and put his rider's thoughts together. Giving an affectionate rumble, he settled down. E'rae painstakingly helped Angshel into the harness, strapping him in. Not long after, they flew to the infirmary.
"Healer!"
Angshel shivered at the sight of such an imposing creature so close to him. Being the child of a drudge, he had only known hard work all his short life and had never been given the gift of seeing a dragon on the ground. Only twice had he seen one at all, and they had been flying overhead, no doubt on sweepflights. If only he had been more
conscious the flight would have been the highlight of his days, but as it was, he had to concentrate on not passing out from the unexpected pain that the short flight had on his body.
In a fog he heard the dragonrider call out for a healer. It was all he could do not to pass out from the pains screaming out in his body. A low moan escaped his lips as he mentally begged the rider to let him off the huge beast.
Once had seen the boy taken away by the healers, E'rae found himself standing there, unable to move. **It isn't right**
