K'sedel

Walking up to his Wingleader's door, the bluerider tried not to think anymore about the boy and what he had looked like. He had been a holder. He knew such things happened, but they had never happened to _him_ or around him. It had been such a surprise when he had impressed blue. Sighing, he tapped on K'sedel's door. "Sir, may I speak with you?"

"Of course." The door was slightly ajar and he had been able to see the
bluerider's approach. "My door is always open to the people of the Weyr."

Walking inside, E'rae waited to be told to sit. "I just dropped off someone
at the Infirmary and I thought you should know though I'm sure the healers
will tell you eventually."

"Oh?" K'sedel put down the stylus he'd been holding, and gestured to a seat. "Tell me more bluerider."

E'rae did sit. "A young boy..holder by the looks of things. He was hurt,
sir. Bad. He said they..found him with another male. He wants to stay here." He looked up and met K'sedel straight in the eye.

"How bad did it look to you?" K'sedel wanted to know the definition of 'bad' in this case. Having grown up in a hold himself he had heard opinions that didn't fit with the way life happened to be, especially in Weyrs.

"Quite. He'll be laid up for a few sevendays at the least. Only thing is..I
think there's a hurt we can't see on the outside if you get my meaning." So
many went through something like that and never recovered.

"I see, well we'll have the healers talk to him. They'll be able to help him though this, and explain that we don't turn anybody away." Maybe the lad was candidate potential, who would know, but lads willing to take their chance for green or blue dragons were never turned away.

"What if he has family though?" E'rae blurted. He himself had been a holder
with family. Running off to the Weyr without telling his mother had never
been an option in his mind.

"I'd suggest getting the healers to talk to him about that, and then sending word to them. If he wants that to happen. For all we know, he might want to just 'disappear' for a while."

"Well I trust you to take care of it, sir. I just thought you should know."
E'rae understood how delicate Hold and Weyr relations could be.

"Just one more thing." K'sedle took up his stylus, dipping it in the ink
pot. "Did you get his name?"

It took him a moment, but he did recall it. Riding sweeps had taught him to
remember things like that. "Angshel."

"We'll make sure he's okay."

"Thank you sir. Let me know if there's anything else I can do." E'rae stood
up, but waited to be dismissed before leaving.

"You're dismissed," K'sedel told him. "And thank you for bringing it to my attention."
