Description: D'ale visits Kenza for a little companionship
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 11, day 8 of Turn 5
He strode away from the dining hall after a good dinner with a sweet
for dessert. Now he just wanted to relax with a friend. No stress, no
expectations, no agenda. D'ale was tired and the candidates seemed
like children to him anymore.
He carried a bottle with him as he wandered the corridors not really
sure of where he was going. Finally he ended up at a door he knew
well... he grinned and knocked.
It was the first time all day she'd had to relax. Kenza settled under
her fur and sighed. The smooth covering felt exquisite against her
flesh as she settled against the bed. Solith had all but laughed at
her for crawling into bed early, but Kenza had only rolled her eyes at
her green, reminding her how much _she_ liked to sleep.
In fact, even now, Solith had quickly dozed off to sleep only minutes
after they had stopped talking. Kenza didn't really intend to sleep,
but she loved feel and warmth of the furs in the sometimes chilly
weyr. With a glow basket positioned near her, she was squinting at a
scroll. Her eyelids had begun to droop when the sound of a knock send
her bolting upright.
**Who could be visiting me tonight,** she wondered. She surely hadn't
expected anyone. Slipping a robe on, she slipped from beneath the furs
and made her way to the door. Opening it, she blinked at the man
standing before her, a smile rising one side of her mouth.
"Well, if it isn't the one who can't decide where he wants to live,"
Kenza chuckled to herself. "Come in before you let all the cool air
in." She motioned for D'ale to enter.
"Oh ho!" he smiled at her in a friendly fashion. "Get you out of bed?"
he brushed past to allow her to close the door and keep the warmth
inside. Then he turned around and slipped his arm around her waist.
Brushing her hair aside the scoring along the back of her neck didn't
really register as he dropped a kiss on it. "Want some company?"
"Are you drunk?" She asked, shaking her head, a smile playing on her
lips. "Solith and I had decided to settle in early tonight." Kenza
couldn't hide her pleasure at feeling his lips touch her skin. The
scarred flesh at the back held little feeling, but he'd cleverly found
a spot that had _lots_ of feeling with his lips.
"It's been a long time since you've come knocking on my door, D'ale,"
she murmured, tilting her head just slightly to give him easier access
to that wonderful spot he'd found. Kenza had her preferences and D'ale
had always been one of them.
"Mmmmmm" he murmured nibbling a little more neck. "I'm only a bit warm
from the wine." he said after a moment. "It is a bit chilly isn't it?
I think you need to be back in bed." and with that he set his bottle
down and slipped his other arm under her knees and picked her up.
"It's been too long in my opinion." he said with a smile.
She laughed and smacked him. "You fool, I'm more than capable of
getting to the bed on my own." Yet, Kenza really didn't put up much of
a fight. She'd never had much fight in her when D'ale was around
flashing his charming good looks and personality. "Maybe I need a bit
of that wine to warm me up, hmm?" She teased playfully. Her robe had
slipped open a bit in his arms, giving just enough of a hint of the
skin beneath it that was already tingling with the desire to be
touched by his hands.
That was more like his no nonsense Kenza and he playfully looked hurt
as he dropped her on the bed. Then he turned with a chuckle and
brought the bottle back to her noting the robe inching open. Kenza was
wonderful to be with when she wasn't all bound up with work or hating
on men in general. The eyes sparkled exactly the same after all these
Turns.
She took the bottle without question, taking a swig of the sweet
liquid. "It's been awhile D'ale, I'm not the same Kenza I used to be
you know," she took another drink and then looking into his eyes
handed him the bottle, "Perhaps you should be the one drinking from
the bottle. Wouldn't want to scare you off now would I?" Kenza had
grown used to the scars that marred her once beautiful body, but she
knew that many of the men, even the men of the Weyr were not fond of
ghastly reminders of just how destructive and devastating Thread could
be. Her pickings had changed over the Turns, that was for sure, but
she still found someone to warm her bed when she truly needed it, but
things were different now. There was no changing that and Kenza knew
it all to well.
"You sure you want a piece of this rather than some pretty little
thing just itching to find herself with a man of your looks and
charm," Kenza stated what was to her obvious as she drew back the robe
revealing her right leg which was pocked and marred in an almost
grotesque manner with the evidence of her previous injuries. People
had grown used to her face, but not many saw how the Thread had all
but seared her skin from her body, leaving behind a permanent reminder
of just how dangerous their life as dragonriders really was. "I won't
hold it against you if you'd rather warm someone else's bed this eve."
Trust her to come to the point. She must have been incredibly hurt by
other partners since her injury. Thread had almost taken her life and
she believed it had taken her beauty. In his mind though there was a
blend of Kenza now and Kenza as a young and beautiful woman. When she
slipped the robe apart to show him her leg, he looked at it so she
would know he wasn't avoiding it. He even sat on the bed next to her
and ran his long Harpers fingers over her leg softly from the ankle
all the way over the curve of her hip.
He stood and drew his shirt over his head his eyes leaving hers only
for a moment. "I'm sure" he said. "I wasn't looking for a bed warmer
tonight." he said his eyes intense "I was looking for a friend.
They're few and far between, fewer and farther the older we get." he
moved to the foot of the bed before dropping his trousers and crawling
up next to her. "Kenza." he breathed into her hair as he pulled her
against his chest.
"A friend you'll always have in me D'ale," Kenza murmured, reaching up
to stroke his face before she opened her robe and her body to him. It
felt good to be wanted for who she was and not just because she was a
female and a greenrider. She'd had far too little of that in recent
Turns. "Make love to me D'ale, like we did in the past," she murmured
into his neck as her lips moved to find his in a passionate kiss of
long-lost lovers.
