Some Time Together

Writers: Ames, Chelle
Date Posted: 23rd April 2011

Characters: Sarban, Lisadi
Description: Lisadi and Sarban spend time together, chatting.
Location: Emerald Falls Hold
Date: month 1, day 28 of Turn 6

Walking beside him, hand in his, Lisadi felt a sense of peace and
happiness. Since their conversation over dinner, they had spent even
more time together than they had been.

"Sarban?" she said, turning to face him. "You know since we spoke, I
don't think you've properly kissed me." Her eyes were a bit
mischievous as she looked around and saw the corridor was empty. "It
looks like it's just you and me, here, alone." She took a step towards
him, wanting to feel his lips on hers.

"Ah well then, a proper man ensures his woman's pleased." Following
her lead, he leaned in and brought them together, tasting her mouth
leisurely. It wasn't a kiss of possession or even lust. It was him
doing what she had asked him to and enjoying it. He was pleased that
she had grown bold enough to ask, which spoke of a familiarity that
would do them well in the future. When he was done, he brought his
face away, watching her for a minute.

Lisadi was smiling quite happily when he pulled away. "That was very
nice," she stated quietly. "Very nice indeed." Turning back to look
ahead she asked, "So where shall we go?" They'd been walking leisurely
with no real purpose in mind, or at least not one that she had in
mind.

"You know I'd like to be outside if we could, but the weather isn't
cooperative." He sighed, thinking of what else they could be doing.
"There's always going back to my quarters..." Of late, they had been
cuddling from time to time and the Steward had to admit that he
enjoyed it. It was good to have a woman close again.

"I wouldn't mind that," she whispered, leaning into him with her body
and giving him a mischievous smile. "And a few more of those kisses
would do, too." Lisadi knew she was attracted to him and he to her,
they'd spent so much time together of late, yet she knew he was
respecting her by not taking things further...but, perhaps it was time
they see if there was more to this attraction than just what they had
experienced so far.

Once they entered his set of rooms, he closed the door behind them.
Sarban moved, grabbing a glass of water for himself and offering her
some. He liked for her to set the pace, since it ensured that he
didn't push it too far, too fast.

She accepted the glass with a thank you and took a seat where she
often did when they visited his rooms. It was a perfect place for them
to cuddle together. Sipping her water she waited, expecting him to
join her.

Once he finished his glass, he set it aside and came to sit by her.
"So tell me about how everything else is going.."

She smiled, leaning into him as she'd grown accustomed to doing. "I'm
sure you know more about the goings-on around here than I do! All I
really here is the gossip. As for the children and I everything has
been well. I'm truly surprised by how much they have settled. I
haven't really spoken to them much about you and I, not yet, though
they know we spend quite a bit of time together."

I'm pretty sure that since we've decided to continue courting that
they should perhaps be made to understand that. Trewlin's at the turns
when he'll be getting a little curious soon anyway." Sarban remembered
being a cabin boy on a sailing ship. His eyes had been opened.

"I'll talk to them more about it. They both already adore you, so I
know that will not be an issue." She had settled herself comfortably
beside him, enjoying the chance to snuggle with him any time she
could. Turning her head, she looked up at him. "Of course, they aren't
here now, so we don't have to worry about what they might think."

He reached out to touch her shoulders slowly, enjoying the contact.
Her smell was very nice and it was almost enough to send his thoughts
down paths that were very distracting.

She snuggled against him further. Her head resting on his arm. "I like
being here with you, Sarban," Lisadi said, a smile of contentment on
her lips.

"I like being here with you too, nice and quiet." He didn't have to watch
himself around her, which was liberating.

She tilted her head and smiled at him. Leaning gently on his chest,
she gave him a sweet kiss. "I was lucky to meet you my first day here,"
she whispered softly.

"Achh..it was my job to see you settled. Of course you would have met
me." Finishing his drink, he set it aside.

"It seems, though," Lisadi said, gazing at him, "that luck might have
played a part. I think I was attracted to you from that very first moment
we'd met. And now, look where we've come."

"Were you? Why?" Sarban was curious now. None of the other Hold
women had paid him any mind so to find that Lisadi had liked him from
the first was interesting indeed.

"I don't know, honestly," she replied. "Perhaps it was the way you treated
me, and," she paused and reached a hand up towards his temple, "and your
eyes."

"Well if I had known it was going to be that easy, I would have just
blinked at you a few times." He smiled, teasing her.

Lisadi laughed and reached up to touch his cheek. "What about you?
Why did you choose me? With all the women here at the Hold, I do
have to wonder how a woman like me, from a rather small, undignified
little cothold managed to capture the attention of the Emerald Falls
Steward?"

"I had a conversation a long time ago with the Lady Holder regarding what
sort of partner I would have. I believe I said something along the lines of
mature, honest, intelligent, and willing to help me in matters of Hold and
home."
Sarban looked toward her. "You are all of those things."

She smiled and snuggled against him, pleased by his words. Tonight was a
night for
them to simply be together, to share in each other's company, and Lisadi was
more
than happy to do so.
