Description: Az'uka runs into Aryn when they both decide to bathe their dragons, the two of them start talking about their lives before Impression.
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 9, day 14 of Turn 3

Aryn waded into the weyrlake with her lifemate, scrubbing utensils at the ready. **Ok, ready for bath time?**

}: Splash Time? :{ Viyanth replied, throwing up her wings.

**No, bath time you** Aryn responded. Unperturbed by the water Viyanth had thrown up she looked at her dragonent. "Now, behave and dampen yourself little one."

}: You're the little one :{ was Viyanth's flip reply as she began to behave and allow Aryn to bathe her.

**You up there?** Az'uka called after his cheeky life mate, the dragon always managed to hid in the most obscure places when it came to the days when he had to be bathed, well when he _knew_ he was going to be bathed.

}: No...:{ came the reply almost child like, then it changed }: I ITCH :{
**Well if you don't come down I can't fix that can I? ** He taunted the dragon a little and he began to make his way over to the Weyrlake }: Fine... :{ The dragon circled down toward the winter Weyrlake where he landed in a rather huffy manner, send water over everyone there, Az'uka included Aryn sighed, shaking off the excess water. She didn't mind Viyanth splashing her, because she was too small to make many effective splashes. But this dragon that just arrived...

She looked around, trying to find his rider. **Viyanth can you please speak to that gentlemen to be a bit more careful with his landings?**

}: What do I care. I was supposed to get wet, I am now wet. I should thank him. :{ Viyanth replied, flapping her tail a bit.

Aryn sighed. She started to scrub Viyanth, but kept her eyes open for who was the blue dragon's rider.

**NILZUTH!** Az'uka rarely raised his tone at his lifemate but that display was uncalled for, he glared sideways at the blue dragon. With a sigh he racked a hand back though his now wet hair. ** That was rude **

}: She doesn't mind :{ the dragon nodded, indicating the green in the Weyrlake beside them.

Az'uka turned and noted the Weyrling pair and walked over to them "I'm so sorry, Nilzuth gets a little ..." He paused looking of the right word. ".Obnoxious some times."

"Yes, it appears so," Aryn replied bluntly. Pausing a moment to look at who had come over. She had to look quite high up. "I didn't think I recognized that blue, are you new here?"

He smiled. "It seems everywhere I go I can't escape it..." Az'uka muttered. "Yes I'm new to the Weyr I transferred in from Far Island Weyr, Perhaps no more than a seven day ago." He gave his dragon a pat as Nilzuth came closer to the pair of riders.

"Well then, welcome to the Weyr Nilzuth," she said doing an opening gesture with her arm. "But I don't think I caught your name yet, rider?"

Realizing his mistake Az'uka gave a nervous laugh. "I do apologize, I'm Az'uka" He gave a small smile.

"Nice to meet you, Az'uka," Aryn replied rather primly, returning to scrubbing Viyanth. "My name is Aryn, and this is Viynath.

Viyanth swung her head towards Nilzuth and bobbed her head slowly. }: My rider wishes you to be more careful when arriving. :{ "Pleasure to meet you Aryn" Az'uka returned, he tried his best to return in polite favour, after Nilzuth's entrance it was the lest he could do. Reaching over to give the blue another pat he began to scrub at the dragons Twilight blue hide.

Nilzuth Titled his head to one side and gave what might have been called a nod. }: Tell your rider I'm very sorry :{ }: The blue one apologises Aryn :{ Viyanth replied petulantly
**Well, at least they have manner** Aryn told her lifemate, bitting her lip. **Perhaps I should be a bit nicer.**

She looked up from Viyanths hide for a moment. "What brings you to dragonsfall?"

"Hmm?" Az'uka murmured and looked up "I guess I just wanted to get away from the memories of my father, even though the old man transferred to Dream Ends Weyr, Maybe a place to fully call my own..." He paused and half turned back to the job at hand, scrubbing his dragon. "I'm sorry I'm rambling..." then mention of his father brought a fain pang of sadness to him.

}: What' wrong?! :{ Nilzuth questioned, worried.

**Nothing, just memories...** Az'uka reassured his dragon, his father had never done anything to Az'uka directly, but he was the reason the family split up.

"No, its ok." Aryn said, her tone softening a bit. She knew father problems. There had always been a bad dynamic between her father and Toriat, she wondered what would happen if Toriat impressed, for it surely would be blue. And then, herself? "Well, at least you weren't practically disowned?" she said, in a bit of a joking, questioning manner.

"Depends which way you look at it I guess... I disowned him." Az'uka replied in a low tone, Az'uka refused to associate with his father after the events that occurred after the first time he stood for Impression. That and the events after he'd impressed, he didn't talk about it much as far as he was concerned the man wasn't worth the angered words that would leave his lips.

"Moving on then," she said quietly, perhaps loud enough for Az'uka to hear. "How do you like dragonsfall so far?"

He caught it and let the subject drop, perhaps a little too happily, he was not willing to go there either, taking his cue as it where from Aryn he smiled. "I love it; there was always something about Dragonsfall that made it feel like home, even before I transferred in. I guess that's why I chose to come here" Nilzuth nudged him.

}: You missed my shoulder :{
**Did I?! sorry** With that the rider, began to scrub the blue's shoulder.

"Well, why exactly?" Aryn asked bluntly. "Its a bit chilly in this region and you have to admit, the Weyr itself is an intimidating edifice."

"Hm... I guess, I'm not entirely sure to be honest." He said offhandedly,
**Perhaps that my father isn't here...** He thought.

"Maybe it was just the people, the friendly atmosphere, as for the weather it doesn't bother me a place to call home is a precious thing." He looked skywards, or upwards at lest. "I'm rambling again"

"Ramble longer," Aryn answered with a laugh, looking up once again from Viyanths hide. "I won't have to look up so often and I can continue to wash this one."

Az'uka chuckled at little as she scrubbed at Nilzuth's hide. "Anything in particular you want me to ramble about?" He asked in a joking tone. Nilzuth tapped his rider on the leg with his tail.

}:Watch your step rider mine, we hardly made the right Impression for you just to talk your head off.:{
** I thought that was you**

"Oh, anything," Aryn responded. "How long have you been with Nilzuth? Did you have a craft? What was Far Island like?"

"Far Island was where I Impressed Nilzuth, and that was 14 turns ago. Far Island was fun, I guess." He smiled with a soft chuckle "The best part of it being Nilzuth, as for a craft I was a Runner, Senior Apprentice to be exact, I can tell you thing, even running in the rain one doesn't get as wet as when one is bathing a dragon"

}: I heard that :{ The Blue dragon sent water showering over his rider, enough to knock Az'uka over his feet and laughing into the Weyrlake.

"Well there's an example." He muttered, puling himself out of the water and getting back to scrubbing.

"No more examples!" Aryn said in mock furry. "I believe you, ok?"

She flashed him a smile though. He wasn't the first runner she'd run into, but she was usually a bit more occupied with other things then to query about his trade. "What's it like, as a Runner? Did you get to go all over?"

"Depends where your stationed as far as I know, I spent most of at a hall so mots of my messages was in the hall or to nearby runner stations" He stated simply, there wasn't all that much in the Runner craft that people talked about. "There was one time I was I had to run a message to the Weyr, I guess I was lucky." He paused and smiled up at his dragon. "There was a hatching that day, the Weyrfolk asked me to stand, and well Nilzuth knocked me over" Az'uka laughed "I guess he's good at that"

"Sounds like that was pretty close. Lucky for Nilzuth you were there."

He smiled; a sense of happiness came over him. "True, what about you? What's your background then?" It seemed that for the second time curiosity had bitten him.

"Hmmmm," She thought for a moment how to phrase it as she worked up Viyanth's wing sails. "Well, if you ever want to stretch Nilzuth's wings, go just a tad south of true East, over the river for about hmmm, two hours? That's Opal Cove. I grew up at the Beast Hold there. Actually its worth the trip, the architecture of Opal is beautiful. Anyone and everyone should check out the stained glass windows."

"Sounds like an offer I should take up then" He replied in reference to the stained glass and the idea seeing where one of his fellow Weyrfolk had grown up. He gave Nilzuth a pat on the shoulder, before getting his dragon to strength out his wing so he could get an easy reach at his wing joints and the somewhat fragile sails.

"Good, you should," she replied with a wrinkle of her nose.

}: I am all washed now, let me rinse :{ Viyanth replied to Aryn as she was about to use another scoopful of sand. **Ok dear heart, meet me out in a moment.**

"Well Viyanth seems to be finished. There quite a bit less of her then Nilzuth. I'll see you around Az'uka." She said, giving a final wave as she walked away.

"Sure" Az'uka waved back. **Nice girl** he thought, making a mental note to keep an eye out for her in the future.
