Cortana looked down from the back of her Anath as they spiraled down
toward a field just outside Ista Hold, where her twin sister awaited
her arrival. The air was crisp and swirled around her, making her long
plaited hair whip in the wind.
As her emerald beauty landed gracefully onto the green grass, Cortana
slid down and broke out in a run for her sister. The twin pair darted
toward one another and lashed themselves together in a welcoming
embrace.
"It has been too long," they said in unison then both laughed as tears
of joy began to trickle over their cheeks. Pulling apart only enough
to gaze into the others face, they smiled at each other and just took
a moment to study the other. After a short silent pause they embraced
again then walked hand in hand to a little breakfast Cianna had laid
out for the two of them.
The twins spent the morning together sipping klah and catching up on
all that they had missed. They laughed, cried, joked and sighed. As
morning turned into early afternoon, Anath reluctantly reminded hers
that they had to report for duty.
With tear filled eyes the sisters embraced one last time and made
promises to see each other again very soon. Then feeling rejuvenated
though sad to leave Cianna, Cortana took her place upon her dragon.
Anath chittered softly, saying goodbye to Cianna then vaulted into the
air. Cortana waved as they ascended and with one last smile they
blinked out of sight.
