D'arvn

D'arvn

U'fouinn hurried back to his weyr. He hadn't even bothered to tie the
strings on his tunic. All he could think about was getting back to
D'arvn, being in D'arvn's arms. He worried how his weyrmate was going
to take things. In all the time since he'd first won Amizth's flight,
D'arvn had always been the winner. But no, not this time. This time it
had been R'yin and Aerrath.

The going was not easy for he was still consumed with the desires of
Amizth's flight and felt the twinges of soreness that were common
after flight for him. Finally, he burst into their weyr and looked
around for D'arvn, hoping he would be there, hoping he would not be
angry.

D'arvn hadn't been able to do much more than pace their small living
area since the flight. Falzeth was sulking on the heights and he just
didn't know what to do with himself. He'd gone into the sleeping
chamber to make the bed since they'd both left in such a hurry when he
heard the door open.

He rushed back into the living area and swept U'fouinn into his arms.
"Are you hurt? Are you ok?" his hands moved over his partner. "He
didnt' hurt you did he?"

U'fouinn let out an almost relieved sigh as he felt the warmth of his
mate. "No, nothing out of the ordinary for a flight. He handled it
well." U'fouinn looked into his partner's eyes and frowned, almost on
the verge of tears, "I wanted it to be you," he whispered.

He gave U'fouinn a wan smile, "I know," he said. "She was coming back
toward Falzeth but the brown was quicker than she thought." His arms
tightened. "It's ok. I was just worried about you." His mate was so
delicate he couldn't bear to think what could have happened to him if
the rider had been rough.

U'fouinn sniffled and hugged his mate back. "It wasn't the same
without you there," he whispered as he leaned up on his toes to kiss
the man whom he loved. "Be with me D'arvn. I need you." U'fouinn
needed to feel the comfort and strength of the man before him. Needed
to know that regardless of what might transpire outside their weyr,
that they were still one with each other.

D'arvn's hand went to the back of U'fouinn's head to cradle it. "Of
course!" he answered after the soft kiss, and took the other man's
hand to lead him back to their bed.

U'fouinn followed, needing more than anything to be with D'arvn. As he
surrounded to the love from his mate, U'fouinn felt at peace for those
moments. Yet, when he lay beside him, sweat still gleaming off both
their brows, U'fouinn finally could hold back the other fears and
emotions he felt. Tears came to his eyes. Tears which he couldn't hold
back any longer. He was simply overcome with so many emotions at once
he couldn't even describe them all.

His arms tightened around U'fouinn. This was the first time this had
happened to him and D'arvn didn't know what to say to comfort him but
to hold him close and reassure him of his love. "It's alright love,"
he whispered.

Finally, he calmed. His emotions were a total shambles. Normally, he
had at least _some_ control, but not today. U'fouinn just allowed the
love from his weyrmate to surround him and help him to realize that
nothing had, in fact, changed between them. Looking up into D'arvn's
eyes, his own still a bit bloodshed from the tears, he finally smiled.
"I love you, D'arvn," he whispered. "I don't know how I survived
before we met."

He stroked his partner's hair and laid his face against the top of his
head where he curled into his shoulder. "I love you to. We were lucky
to find eachother." He smiled and kissed him softly.

U'fouinn sighed happily as he snuggled into D'arvn's embrace. He cared
more about him than anyone else and he truly was amazed all the time
that he'd found someone so special to care about him in return. He
wanted to do something to show D'arvn just how much he loved him. His
hand slipped low, knowing that he could use more than words to show
his love.

D'arvn took a deep breath in surprise and pleasure before simply
surrendering to the moment. "U'fouinn" he sighed.
