Back to the business

Writers: Chelle, Paula

Characters: Im're, Rhosyn
Description: Im're reports back to duties and joins Rhosyn's wing for a time being
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 3, day 25 of Turn 6

She was sitting at her desk working on some of the things she had left from
the day
before. Rhosyn scratched at an itchy spot on her left arm before pulling up
a glass of
water to her lips.

Im're knocked on the doorframe. He had tucked the release hides from the
infirmary under
his arm. He still limped but the healers had assured him it would disappear
when his
muscles got used to walking around again.

Her head came up. }:it is the young one who was hurt:{ Orlaith supplied
before subsiding.
The gold rested on the ledge outside of her weyr, surveying the other
dragons, including
her growing weyrlings. "Come in, Im're," she called, eager to see how he
was.

"Weyrwoman, ma'am," Im're saluted. "I've been released from infirmary and I
was told to
report to you."

"Please come in and have a seat," she urged, watching him to see how far he
had come.
"Let me look at your release then."

Im're took the seat and handed her the hides. "So, I'm joining your wing for
a few months?"
he asked.

She took them and looked them over, though Rhosyn had known it was coming
for
some time. "Aye bluerider, that's exactly what's going to happen. So, right
now,
what exactly are your limitations as you're healing?"

"Well, my injured leg is still weaker and I limp. My injured hands fingers
don't bend all the
way to the fist," he told her. "Gormth's wound is closed, but he also needs
to work up the
strength he lost while recovering. His shoulder is still a bit stiff."

"Allright then we'll put you in the quite limited group to begin with. I run
therapy exercises
with them every morning, sometimes in the water, sometimes not. We do drills
in the afternoon
after midday meal. Are you able to get your gear ready?" With his injury, he
might not be
able to maintenance his straps yet and Rhosyn needed to know that.

"I need a new set of straps but I'll do just fine with the spare one until
then," Im're replied.

"I can easily get a weyrling to make them. They need the practice anyway."
She often drafted
weyrlings to help, giving them chores and experience with what might happen
to them someday.

"That sounds good to me, I'm a woodcrafter, not a tanner," Im're said.
"Anything else?" he asked.

"Are you going to be in a temporary weyr or are you able to return to your
old one?" Some
of the ones that needed accommodations were given lower weyrs for a bit
though Rhosyn
didn't think he'd need it.

"My old one, it's easy to access," Im're replied. Which was just a good
thing. The place had
just started to feel like _home_.

"Good then I think we're settled for now. Here's your wing schedule. If you
have any healer
appointments or anything, let me know. If you're having problems with
anything, let me know.
Did you have any questions or anything, Im're?" She looked back at him, her
head tilted just
a bit. She was glad the young rider was on the mend and they hadn't lost
him.

"Yes, ma'am, nothing to ask ma'am," Im're replied like a well mannered,
respectful hold boy.

"I think that means we're done then, bluerider. I'll have the weyrling
report to your weyr
as soon as possible to get started on those straps and assist you with
whatever you may need."
She made a little mark on the hide and sat back, watching him. "Welcome back
to your duties."

"Thank you, Weyrwoman, I'm glad to be back," Im're grinned.
