After finishing his meeting with Corowal, Sarban headed to find Zandan. Seeing him in the training yard with some of his guys, he stood off to the side and waited till they were done.

"And that's not how you stop a drunken charge," Zandan said and sent the other guard, young recruit, flying down to the dirt with his face first. His tone was lecturing, but his eyes had a malicious gleam.

Sarban smiled, thinking of his seafaring days. Sailors liked to get drunk, unfortunately.

Noticing the Steward, Zandan called a sergeant to take his place. "Try to teach the boy to keep his head cool," he instructed the sergeant and walked over to Sarban. "Steward."

"Captain," he gave the man a moment to settle. "The Lord Holder and I need something from you."

"All right," Zandan said. After taking a look around of all the guards hanging around the training field, he suggested, "Why don't we walk a bit?"

"Mmm," Sarban made a sound of agreement as he followed the captain. When they were well out of earshot, he looked over at Zandan while walking. "Corowal and I think it'd be wise to keep an eye on Lord Morin at Sunstone."

"I see," Zandan said thoughtfully. He didn't presume even for one second that they meant him to have an eye on Morin. No, he knew better. He knew how Corowal's mind worked. "And you want me to find the right man ...or woman for it." It wasn't a question, it was a statement.

"Of course. Or it may be a thought....he's going to be looking for a Lady Holder soon. Do we have any Emerald Falls'
minor holders that might have daughters who could...take one for the cause?" Sarban's mind worked in interesting ways.

"You or Cor would know that better than I," Zandan snorted. "Although a few holders have tried to push their daughters to me." Some thought the Captain of the guard as a good catch, and his unmarried state as a challenge. Zandan wasn't keen on marrying.

"Aye, just thinking... If it doesn't work, do we have a man for the job?" Sarban needed to know in case he needed his bases covered.

"A few. One in particular, he has done something similar before. The problem is, I have no idea where he is hailing nowadays. Second would be a woman, Xilla. Her face is scarred from when her husband tried to kill her and burned her face."

"That would make her too memorable and obvious then. How long do you think it'd take to track down the fellow?" He would make certain inquiries himself to see if he could come up suitable brides-to-be.

Zandan didn't quite agree in that regard: "Ah, but she would be memorized as just another ugly, scarred drudge. As for him, I have no idea." He shrugged his wide shoulders. "I'll spread the word among seacrafters and see if he surfaces. But the man can disappear if he so wishes."

"Would I...did I know him?" Now that was curious.

"You might," Zandan shrugged his wide shoulders. "He is not actually seacrafter, at least he doesn't have craft knots, but he's worked on and off on ships and docks. Actually, I think he has background in smithcraft. A son of respected, influential crafter family who fell into wrong company."

"Allright, well let me know what you find out as soon as possible. I'll ask Lady Felyna what she thinks about putting a possible wife to Morin." Leave that to women. They knew better.

"Yes, sir," Zandan nodded.
