It was just too tempting, his bare neck, back turned towards her. Kustaava scooped up a handfull of snow and started to plan how to get it dumped into his neck without being caught.
An'dr had been true to his word and taken her somewhere to see snow. And she was going to repay it with cold shower. Well, life was cruel. She tried very hard not to giggle when she sneaked on to him and with lound yell, jumped on the poor bluerider, throwing the snow in to his neck.
"Hey! Not fair!" yelled the young bluerider clapping a hand to the back of his neck. "You'll pay for that!" The bluerider hadn't grown up in the north for nothing, and having older siblings had taught him some tricks of his own. He wriggled slightly, hoping it would be enough to dump her into the pile of snow that Pluserth had brushed together with his tail.
Well, Ava had siblings too, even if snow was new to her. Laughing, she ended up sitting in snow. But not before she had gotten another handful on to his neck.
"I told you snow was fun," he said, offering her a hand to stand up again.
"And you were right. This is fun. I can't remember last time had this fun,"
Ava said. Her cheeks were turned rosy red by cold and laughter was sparkling in her eyes. She looked almost breathtakingly beautiful.
"We'll have to do something about that," he said, smiling at her.
"About what?" Kustaava asked innocently. Her mind was elsewhere, pondering if she dared to kiss him or not.
"Fun," he said, just as innocently. "That is why we came here."
Kustaava made up her mind. Seemed like she didn't get anywhere when she was waiting him to act on it. And she was pretty sure she had left plenty of clues. "There's more than one kind of fun," she said, grapped his collar and pulled him close, kissing him.
At first he didn't know how to react. Was this what all the older boys had whispered about in the apprentice dorms? Then, he suddenly realised he liked it, but he wasn't quite sure what to do.
Ava pulled back to watch his face. She couldn't help, his expression made her giggle. He was so awestruck.
"Did I, did I do something wrong?" he said eventually, after what seemed like candlemarks had passed. "I, I liked it," he said.
"You looked so confused. You haven't done much kissing? 'Couse usually you kiss back, you know," Ava said, bitween giggles. She was suddenly overcome with shyness and uncertainity. "I wasn't too forward, was I?" Maybe he was one of those blueriders who didn't like women. She had now been weyr long enough to learn about that.
"I, I never kissed anyone before," he admitted.
"Really? A cute boy like you?" Kustaava was surprised.
"No, never," he said, head hung low with his admission.
Ava just stared and then shrugged. "You just have to catch up then," she said flirtingly.
"Could I, could I kiss you again?" he asked shyly, not sure if that was how he was supposed to do it. Did you just ask a girl, or did you just kiss her, it was confusing.
"Sure you can," the candidate said and leaned a bit forward with expectation.
He lifted his head, letting his lips meet hers. Gently at first, as he was unsure of himself.
Ava responded euthiastically. She was suddenly worried she might scare him away.
After a moment or two, the kiss broke. "W... was that better?"
"Much better," she sounded breathless.
"Much better," he repeated.
"Little more practice and you'll be irrisistable."
"Like this," he said, daring to kiss her again.
"Oh, yes," Ava murmured, she was definently enjoying this trip to the snow.
Pluserth watched the pair curiously. Maybe this was what his had meant by playing in the snow after all.
