"Nocte," L'maret called out, recognizing the black haired girl, who had just entered the Dinning Cavarn ahead of him.
Nocte turned at her name, and smiled. "L'maret, how are you doing?" she said as she slowed her pace to walk beside him.
"I'm doing well, although I'm disappointed that we never did manage to meet and share our works. I had a special poem I wanted to get your opinion on."
"Not a problem. Things always seem to happen when you try to plan things. I have a few drawings i was going to work on as I sat, if you want to look?"
"Sure I would love to see them," L'maret responded enthusiastically, "and if you wouldn't mind reading this poem for me," he added, becoming self concious, "I wrote it for a friend of mine."
"Sure thing. I'd love to." Nocte smiled incouragingly.
"Then should we grab a cup of klah?" L'maret suggested, this could be a nice way to send the afternoon, and get his mind off of his troubles.
Nocte smiled and found them a table. "I'll fetch us some klah hang on."
She was gone before he could say a word. She moved her slight body quickly throiugh the crowd and was back just as quickly. "Small size has it's advantages." She smiled.
"Thanks," L'maret said gratefully. It would have taken him a lot longer to reach the pot of klah than it had taken Nocte," so what new pictures have you sketched."
"Well, I have this one." She handed him a sketch of a weyrling drinched as his dragon rolled about in the water.
"That's good," L'maret commented enthusiastically, "I think that I recognize the rider, although I cannot place his name."
"His name is J'amix, and that is his brown, Mijaimith." She smiled.
"Ah, yes," L'maret said, recognizing the names, "It is a good likeness."
"I also have this one." She placed a drawing of L'maret and his dragon lounging in the sun.
L'maret laughed, "when did you do that one? I had no idea."
"Not so long ago. I couldn't help it. You made the perfect little model for a sketch. Would you like to keep it?"
"I would love to," L'maret said appreciativley, "I think that my eldest son would love to see it."
"Perhaps some day I could get a sketch done of you guys together."
"I would like that," L'maret said, "I don't see much of him any more."
"Then I'm glad I can help." She smiled warmly.
"I think that I could arrange something for the next restday then, if you wouldn't mind," L'maret did wish that he had more time to spend with Devann, but he always seemed to be too busy lately.
"I would be more than happy to. It will be fun." She smiled.
"We'll see you then."
