They circled through the crisp morning air to settle in the courtyard
of Amber Hills. The brownrider was muffled in his helm, goggles, and
scarf as he reached for the bags and began loading them into the cargo
nets affixed to his lifemate. The knots on his shoulder proclaimed him
to be from Dragonsfall but said nothing of his Wingsecond rank.
She was bold, that much he had to give Yanley. When her little
firelizard had brought him the plan he'd laughed out loud. She never
ceased to stimulate and amaze him.
Yanley was wrapped up in furs and carrying a bag when she came out of
the hold. She gave the guards a friendly nod. None of them were about
to ask where she was going. She was a Lady after all.
"M'lady," D'ale nodded and touched a knuckle to his forehead to
acknowledge the Lady. He took the bag from her hand and set it next to
the brown while he helped her into her seat, Then he tucked the bag
away and lashed it securely with his own. Climbing up into his own
seat he made no familiar moves. He wasn't going to give her away after
all her careful planning.
Soon they were airborne and circled to the heights above the hold and
he reached back for a moment to squeeze her knee before they went
/between/ to their prearranged destination.
Yanley wrapped her arms around his waist. After they were too high to
be seen from ground, she pressed her cheek against his back. All this
plotting to meet D'ale in secret was actually quite exciting and
invigorating. It kept her from wallowing in bitterness.
The air over the beach where they were headed was much warmer than
either Dragonsfall or Amber Hills. But D'ale was familiar with it
nonetheless. His turns spent at River Bluff hadn't gone to waste and
there was no one around this traveler's shelter. One good thing he
could say about Lord Morin, he took care of his people. Travel
shelters under his control were always well stocked and clean. More
than likely, some cotholder nearby was charged with keeping it so.
They landed near the small shelter and the waves lapping on the shore
of a small inlet. They were a good days travel from the nearest minor
hold and three days from Sunstone Seahold itself. He dismounted and
reached up for Yanley. "Do you like it?"
"Oh, yes, it's lovely. I don't think I've ever been to this part
before," Yanley said, looking around her and letting D'ale help her
down. Besides, she enjoyed feeling his strong arms around her waist.
"Great," he smiled down into her eyes and gave her a warm kiss. "Now
take off your clothes. We're going skinny dipping." He reached for the
bags and put them inside and began stripping himself.
"Oooh, aren't you a naughty boy!" Yanley's expression was certainly a
naughty one.
He grinned waggled his eyebrows at her expression and picked up a
blanket and towels he had placed there earlier. "I'm inspired by your
beauty." He held out his hand to lead her down the path to the
secluded beach.
"You're such a sweet talker," Yanley said with gently teasing tone.
She was already removing her clothes. It was so much warmer than Amber
Hills hold.
His eyes raked her curves as they were revealed and he counted himself
a very lucky man. Then he led her down to the beach and the warmth of
the sun. He dropped the blanket and towels clear of the lapping small
waves of the cove. Then he held her hand as they walked toward the
water.
Feeling D'ale's eyes on her made Yanley smile. She dove to the waves,
being proficient swimmer.
"Ohh you minx," he dove after her.
Yanley didn't let him close easily and kept darting away from him in
the water. "Catch me if you can, " she teased him.
The hard work if tossing firestone sacks most of his life and caring
for a large brown dragon combined to assure D'ale was very fit and
strong. His strokes cut cleanly through the water and he could have
easily caught her but it was far more fun just missing and letting her
get away. Her giggles and squeals were worth it. Finally his hands
snaked out to grab her waist and pull her against him with a whoop of
victory. "Gotcha!"
"So you did," Yanley said and wrapped her arms around him. "I think
the green dragons do have a good idea...."
"Mmm," said D'ale busily running his hands all over her lucious curves.
She didn't mind that at all, instead of encouraging him for more.
D'ale couldn't help but admire how willing she was for this little
adventure. While it wouldn't be a big thing for a dragonrider to sport
around in the warm waters of the cove, it had to be quite out of the
ordinary for a Lady like Yanley. Yet, she seemed as much at home out
of her clothing as in them. "You're driving me out of my mind woman."
"Funny, I can't seem to be able to get you out of my mind," Yanley
replied. She was lost cause and enjoying it.
"Sounds like we both need a mindhealer," he grinned. He knew this
whole thing a crazy but he couldn't stay away from her even if he'd
wanted to and he certainly didn't want to.
