Help With My Injuries

Location: Emerald Falls Hold
Date: month 12, day 20 of Turn 6
Notes: Mentioned: Sarban

Lisadi was taking up Sarban's advice. She entered the infirmary,
looking for Master Miranek. After inquiring as to his whereabouts, she
made her way slowly towards the area she'd been directed.

She didn't know how he could help her now, but she'd promised Sarban
she would seek out the master healer and see if there was anything
more he could do.

"Master Miranek," she called out, "do you have a moment?"

"Of course. How cam I help?"

"I'm not sure if you remember me," she began, "I lived here and had to
leave for awhile." She moved towards him, her limp evident even as she
walked. "Anyway, while I was away I was injured. The healers there did
what they could for me, but my leg still pains me at times. Sarban
felt I should speak with you and see if you had any further ideas to
help."

"I see," the helaer was observing how she moved, and there was a certain
awkwardness to her gait that suggested something that had not yet totally
healed, or not healed well. "I'm going to need to examine you," he said
after a moment. "Would you prefer to have a chaperone present?"

"Um," Lisadi paused, "No I trust you, but if you'd rather I have a
chaperone, I can get one." She shifted uncomfortably, not particularly
wanting to relive the recent past, but knowing she was going to have
to as part of this exam. "Shall I sit or..." she glanced around and
pointed towards the exam table. "Or go there?"

"Here will do," he wanted to see how she would move later on. "Come and sit
down here, and tell me what happened."

Lisadi sat and took a breath before she explained her story.

"I spent time caring for my great-aunt. Anyway, while I was there,
there was some issue over her money and belongings. One of the men who
lived and worked there thought I had it and attacked me. He set the
house on fire," she paused here and pushed up her sleeve. "I got out,
and luckily _this_ is all that happened because of the fire." Her arm
had a rather nasty looking burn scar that started just under her elbow
and seemed to go up under her sleeve.

Letting her sleeve fall back, she continued, "I ran from him, but he
chased me. I fell down a cliffside and my leg was broken. The healers
there, not Masters like yourself, truly did not think I would walk
again. They said it was broken in more than one place. As I healed
there was talk between them that they should have tried something
else, but I never really got all the details." She paused and looked
to him, waiting to see what he would say.

"May I see the burn?" Miranek was thinking that he'd heard of a salve that
might help the appearance of the scar slightly.

"Of course," Lisadi replied. She shifted and undid the blouse she wore
to reveal a rather ugly burn mark on her upper arm. It ran from just
around her shoulder almost down to her elbow. "I believe I bumped into
the burning wood when I was trying to escape. I was lucky _this_ was
all it did to me. It could have been much worse."

"I see," he murmured, inspecting the scar. "I believe I have a salve that

will reduce the scarring a little, it won't make it go away, but applied
properly it will help it fade and settle."

"Oh, that would be wonderful. Thank you," Lisadi replied, pleased to
think that the scar would not be as evident in the future. She only
hoped Miranek would have a solution to help ease the tightness and
pain she still felt in her leg.

"As for your leg, I'd like you to see Jouneyman Zefred, he specialises in
massage and physical therapy. I'm pretty sure that he's going to be able to
give you some exercises that will make movement easier and less painful. but
it will take time for that to happen."

Lisadi nodded, then smiled, "Thank you Master Miranek. I will do that
straight away. Anything to make things easier and less painful would
be much appreciated." Then she added, "And using the salve will be an added
benefit of having come today. I never expected a treatment to reduce
the scarring.

"I'll have to get some made up, if you come back in three days," he told
her. "I'll have to send off for some ingredients."

"I will do that. I will check back in in three days," Lisadi replied. "I
don't want to keep you as I know your time is precious and I appreciate all
you've done for me so far." She was hoping to find Zefred soon to speak to
him about Miranek's suggestion.
