"Milga! Milga! You saved the dolphins! How did you do it? What happened?" Veerona was restless as she ran about,
trying to track down her friend, the apprentice. Her braids were flying and she almost tripped over her dress.

"Hi, Veerona! Watch your steps!" Milga greeted with a grin and warned her.

Coming to a stop when she saw the person she wanted, she was all bright smiles and big eyes. "So, you gonna tell me? Come on, I bet it was scary!"

"Yes, it was very scary. I even got hurt, wanna see?" Milga replied and pulled up her tunic sleeves to show off the healing scabs on both of her shoulders. She had unusually wide shoulders compared to rest of her body.

"Oh! How did that happen? You have to tell me everything okay?" Eager to hear of Milga's adventures and thinking somehow that maybe her mother had had such, she inspected the scabs carefully.

"I had to squeeze thru very narrow tunnel to get to the trapped dolphins. Let's find a place to sit and I tell you the whole story," Milga suggested.

Following her and imitating the way Milga walked without thinking about it, Veerona was thinking about what Milga would think when she told her that her swimming lessons were now over. She was a full fledged swimmer! Sitting down on a bench outside the hall's corridor, her legs swung back and forth while she waited to hear the story.

Milga told her the story of the dolphin rescue, down playing her own part and slightly exaggerating the exciting parts. Last thing she wanted was to be accused of bragging. She already had troubles from some other apprentices, they calling her "favorite" and she refused the think of what they hinted she was doing to earn favors from journeymen.

"Wow! That is so neat! You'll be a journeyman real quick if you do things like that!" She inspected Milga again, almost not really believing everything. Here she was though! "Wasn't it cold?"

"No, but it was dark and tight and really, really scary," Milga replied, lowering her voice to a whisper.

"How did you get through it?" she clamored for more, her eyes getting bigger as Milga went on.

"Just pushing through with force. Left my skin behind," Milga replied.

"Could you even see?" She didn't particularly like the dark to be honest. That's why she liked glows.

"Not much," Milga replied. "I did hope for one of Naton's experimental lights."

"Oh, you didn't have one? I seen one. They're funny looking but kinda neat. It wobbles on my head though." Of course she had been seeing much more of Naton as of late. Veerona still didn't see him as a father or anything like that but she knew Lany liked him and wanted him around and she didn't want Lany to be sad.

"The second group who came with ship had ones. No one thought to give one for us who took the dragon ride there," Milga said with a grin. "It was so hectic."

"Oh you took a dragon ride? That is so neat!!!!!" She was almost hopping on the bench as she thought about it. Vee hadn't gotten to do that really despite everyone saying that her father had had one.

"Not really. I discovered that I don't have head for heights. Remember Pierka? I rode with her," Milga said.

"I don't know....maybe..." Veerona tried to place the name, but it had blended in with all those other faces from when she was younger.

Milga hugged her impulsively. "That's all right if you don't remember. She's been dragonrider a while now."
