Ameala was happy to enjoy the sun this day. Fitchen had been off to
work and she'd grown tired of just sweeping and cleaning up the house.
So, today, she'd set off for a walk, with nowhere in particular in
mind.

Fitchan was on his way back, wondering how to tell Ameala the contents of
the hide he carried. Lost in thought, he almost bumped into his wife. "I was
just coming to look for you," he said.

"Fitchen!" She cried happily. "I didn't expect to see you!" She threw
her arms around his neck and kissed his cheek. "Why were you looking
for me at this time?" She pulled back and blinked at him confused. It
was too early for him to be done working for the day. She wondered if
something was wrong.

"This," he said, deciding the simplest way was to show her the hide. "I'm,
we're being sent elsewhere."

She frowned at his words, taking the hide slowly from his hands.
Blinking at it a few minutes, she didn't say anything.

"Transferred?" She asked in disbelief as she looked up at him with
shock and confusion in her eyes. She'd lived all her life in the Hold.
It was hard to think about leaving and going somewhere else. True, she
often wished for adventure, but was she really ready for it?

"It says for at least half a turn," Fitchan said. "And River Bluff Weyr is
so far away." He looked her in the eye, "I want you to come with me, I know
that it would be very different there, but I know how close you are to your
family." He paused for a moment. "We always knew it would happen some day, I
just thought it would be to another Hold, or back to the Hall."

Ameala's face was sad at the thought of leaving. Yet, there was
something that made her even sadder.

Looking up to her husband, her eyes glistening with tears, she stepped
towards him.

"I _couldn't_," she began, "imagine living here even _a day_ without
you by my side. How could I ever stay here knowing you were far away?
Of course I will come." Ameala had no doubts. She loved Fitchen more
than life itself. He _was_ her life and her future. No matter how
difficult the move would be, she knew where she belonged. Right beside
her husband. She leaned up on tiptoes to reach his lips.

He kissed her back. "We won't have long to prepare. the documents say
transport will be provided the day after the next restday."

"So soon?" She asked, shock evident in her eyes. "Oh dear. There's so
much to pack and do before then." Ameala didn't mean to fret, but this
would be such a big change for her, for them, she was nervous.

"Well, I always wanted to try new things," she squared her shoulders
and lifted her chin, "this will surely be an adventure. Will you have
time to help me pack?" They didn't have too many things, but some
where heavier than others and with two sets of hands, things would get
done quicker. "Can I take all our things? Even the furniture? My da
bought us some of those pieces, I don't want to leave them if I don't
have to?" The questions just started spilling forth as one thought
tumbled after the other. She was so agitated she'd started to wring
her hands together and pace from foot to foot as she tried to think of
all the things that would need to be done and quickly.

"I don't know," came the answer. "The letter says that the weyr will provide
some things, I'll have to write to the Master Technician there and ask."

She frowned. "We don't have much time to get an answer. Oh dear. I'll
just pack what I can and leave the rest with my family until we find
out. Does that sound alright?" She looked up at Fitchen needing him to
help her make the decision. Her life was whirling quickly out of
control and he was her anchor.

"I better start packing right away, though. We really don't have much
time." She was fretting, but she couldn't stop herself.

"I'll help, they'll give me time for that."

She sighed happily and turned to look at him. "I'm glad." Not caring
that anyone may be watching, she leaned up on her tiptoes and kissed
his cheek. "I couldn't do this without you."

"So long as we're together." He put his arms around his wife. "You know they
have a beach there, we could go swimming together."

She leaned into him, "A beach? That will be very nice. I would love to
go swimming with you. It will be hard to adjust to a new life, but I
know we can do it." Her words were stronger than the turmoil she felt
inside. She was worried, anxious. Not only would they have to move,
but move from the Hold to a Weyr as well. She knew there were many
different ways of life in a Weyr and she honestly knew very little
about most of them.

"We'll go exploring together," he assured her.

"Of course," she smiled at him. "I should go back to the house now and
start figuring out what to do." Ameala felt the need to begin packing
straight away. Time wasn't on their side. "Are you joining me now?"
She waited for his response, before starting to walk back to their
little home.

"Yes, yes I will. I can help you say goodbye to our bedroom," he teased.

She blushed and giggled, turning back to swat his shoulder. "Shh, not
here, At least wait until we get home. What if someone hears you?"

"Nobody's listening," a wicked grin crossed his face. "Besides, I hear at
the Weyr they wouldn't care if they heard something like that."

She gave his shoulder a little smack, though she was grinning as her
mind raced with thoughts of exactly what she wanted to do with him.

"We're not _at_ the Weyr. Yet, at least," She wasn't sure she would
like her life there, but she would make the most of it just so long as
Fitchen was by her side.

Taking his hand, she gave him a knowing smile. "Let me take you up on
that offer to get things _moving_ in our bedroom." She giggled and
blushed a bit at her own boldness.

"Lead the way," he said with a gentle squeeze of her hand.

Giggling and feeling a mite foolish, Ameala pulled him along with her.
She couldn't wait to get home. There was lots to be done, but all of
it could wait. She didn't often get time to play with Fitchen in the
middle of the day. Ameala wanted to make the most of the time they
had.

When she finally dragged him to their front door, she stopped, her
hair a bit mussed from the wind, turned, and reached up to pull him
down so she could kiss him.

"Home is with you, wherever we go. Now take me home and love me," she
murmured her lips pressing into his.
