Location: Amber Hills Hold
Date: month 2, day 12 of Turn 7
Tonight she'd decided to fill her loneliness somewhere else. Kenza had
gone off to the Tavern to drink until her heart no longer ached. She'd
been here for quite a few candlemarks and already was rather drunk.
She'd been playing cards and shooting off barbs with the men at the
tavern. A few of them had taken an interest in her and joined her
table. One currently had his hand on her thigh with a rather feral
smile. Kenza didn't care. She'd slept with more people than this kid
had ever probably seen. He'd be just another.
"So, you said you were a dragonrider, right?" The one boy, for yes,
the group gathered around her were rather _young_ men.
"Yup," she replied, drinking down her mug and raising it up to get another.
"Is is really as _free_ in the Weyr as we've heard?" His eyes were
full of lust and excitement at his question.
Kenza snorted, "Free hardly describes it. I've had more men than you
could count."
The boys eyes took on a deeper, darker color as he sidled his chair up
to her other side.
"I don't mind," said Kield as he put a hand on the lovely greerider's
knee. "Perhaps you'd like to add a few more names to your scroll?"
Several of the others laughed and agreed with him."Maybe you'd like
another one of those," he pointed to her drink and one of the other
young men waived a waiter over.
Kenza snorted. "My scroll always has room for more," she replied
sultrily. Satisfaction was satisfaction, so why not get some here.
"Oh, yes, I'd love a few more," she slurred her words after so many
drinks, "and a nice place to sign your name to that scroll of mine."
She winked at him, feeling her own body reacting to what she hoped she
would get this night.
Not only was she willing, she wasn't bad looking despite the scarring.
A couple more drinks and she wouldn't care what they did with her. He
winked at one of his friends and Kield's hand moved up her thigh.
A few more drinks wouldn't have mattered. Kenza could have cared less
already. Her body hardly felt like her own anymore. She was bent of
just living for the pleasures of life, unable to stop herself from
spiraling out of control.
"What do you say we find ourselves a nice private place to play?" She
asked after they'd bought her a few more drinks. She didn't care if
all of them joined her or just one. All she wanted was to forget
herself for awhile.
She didn't have to say that twice. He punched his buddys arm in
victory then stood pulled her up into his arms. She was a bit wobbly
but between them, he knew they could get her up the stairs. "C'mon
lovely," he growled.
"Put her _down_," commanded a brownrider from the doorway.
Kenza was so drunk, she didn't care _how_ they got her to a bedroom.
She just wanted to allow the feelings of lust to wash away the
feelings of loss and regret she carried these days.
They hadn't gotten far when she heard the same voice the men did. When
they turned, she staggered on the steps, nearly falling herself had
there not been a railing to grip. She turned to the voice and nearly
gasped. D'ale? Her eyes were bleary and his imagine was blurry. Had he
come to rescue her from the despair she'd been wallowing in form
months? Kenza squinted her eyes, trying to focus. No, it wasn't quite
right for D'ale was it?
"Don't worry buddy," said Kield and smiled at the new comer. "You can
have your turn."
K'ale stomped toward the pair with murder in his eyes. "Thats' my
_mother_ and I said put her down."
"Mother?" Kield's voice almost squeaked.
"Oh shards," she muttered. "K'ale? What are you dong here?" Of all
people, her _son_ had to be the one to find her _now_, like _this_?
"I might ask the same question of you," He crossed his arms and glared
and the two young men still holding her up. "I think you need to go
home... now." He wasn't happy to talk to his mother like this but she
was out of hand. Worse by far than he remembered from his childhood.
Kield let go of the rider like a hot tuber and stepped back. His buddy
wasn't far behind him.
Kenza nearly fell over when the two men quickly disappeared. Clinging
to the railing she glared at her son.
"You....had ...no right....to interfere!" Her words were slow in
coming as she had to think harder than usual to get them out.
"Right," he said. "Mother," he shook his head recognizing her state
and realizing she couldn't possibly ride Solith herself. "And you had
no right to interfere when I got roaring drunk either." But he bent
and threw her smaller frame over his shoulder hoping she wasn't going
to puke all over his back. }:Tell Solith we will carry hers back to
her weyr:{
"You're going home," he said with no room for argument.
