Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 2, day 11 of Turn 7

Rolling over, E'rae got up to head to the ledge to relieve himself. It was the first thing the
dragonrider usually did in the morning and it took too long to walk to the
necessary. Scratching his belly, he looked at the dawn as Leith joined him to
receive a scratch on the chin.

Bahji woke from the very comfortable pile of blankets and furs and
rose, rubbing her eyes. She enjoyed the occasional mornings she woke
up at E'rae's weyr; it gave her a sense of comfort. She yawned, but the moment she rose
and her feet hit the floor, she was hit with a sudden wave of nausea.
She swallowed roughly, grimaced and promptly sat back down. Burst rose
from his comfortable perch and tilted his head at her, feeling her
discomfort. "Oh shards..." She swallowed again. "E'rae?" She was going
to be sick.

He heard her call and ambled back in, thinking maybe Bahji wanted him
to go get breakfast or something. When he saw the look on her face,
though, he was confused and almost panicked. "What, what is it?" Rushing forward
across the stone, he almost skidded a bit.

Bahji's face had turned a distinct shade of green. "Need a pot.
Something. I'm going to be sick." She suddenly swallowed as her
stomach lurched. "NOW!"

E'rae didn't just keep pots in his weyr since he was a bluerider.
Still, he did have a bucket that he threw stuff in from time to time
and it was this pail that he gave her.

With a groan, Bahji bent over the bucket and was miserably sick. Her
mother had once explained morning illness to her, but this nausea was
horrendous. She finished and laid her head against the side of the
bucket, swallowing roughly. "Ugh."

"That didn't sound very good," E'rae observed from the other side of
the room where he was pouring her some water to swish with.

"It's not." She swallowed roughly again. "It just hit me. My mother
once told me about this, but she didn't say it was this bad." She
lifted her head, still feeling woozy. "Did Werren's mother have this
too?"

"Ummm....well...I wasn't really privy to all that with her so I don't
know." He gave a shrug. "Maybe someday you can ask my mother, but we
can't fly to Garnet Valley for awhile to do that anyway."

Resting her head against the side of the bucket, Bahji swallowed
another surge of nausea. "So this is new to you too?" She groaned and
held on to the bucket as if afraid it would disappear. "Do you have
bread? Or something? Anything to help with this?"

"Uhh....there's some crackers maybe..." He started into the small storage
area where he kept a small amount of provisions. Grabbing up a few things,
he brought them over and arrayed them on the floor for Bahji. "Here, take
your pick."

Listening to him move about, Bahji reached to where she had heard the
placement of the food. She wasn't hungry, but she was desperate for anything
to quell the nausea. Her fingers reached the crackers and sitting back, she
nibbled. "I'm sorry about this E'rae."

"It's fine. Nothing you can help. And I'm glad it's in the bucket
and not all over the furs. I thought pregnant women were hungry though. If
you're hungry, why does it come back up? Or is that what makes you hungry?"
He was seriously confused.

She blinked several times and then nibbled at the cracker. "Uhm...you've
been through this more than me, you know. I just know that my mother said
pregnant women got sick in the mornings often in the first few months and
then it usually fades. I just know I'm not really hungry now. The crackers
and the bread is supposed to help it." She swallowed and wiped at her brow
with a sigh. "This is miserable."

"I'm sorry. Do you want me to go see if the healers have anything you can
drink to make it stop?" He would. Really. Searching for a tunic, he threw
one over his head.

"I have some in my room. It's tea that a healer gave me. I just
didn't bring it." Curling up into a ball, she rested her brow on her knees.
"I'd ask Burst, but he can't open the cabinet that it's in."

"I'm on it." And then he was finding a pair of shorts before heading out via
the blue to get what she wanted. E'rae wasn't exactly the quickest, but as
soon as he could, he came back. "Do you think it might help if you took a
bath?" Fiddling with stuff, he attempted to make the tea without burning
himself. A former holder, the bluerider was not great at domestic arts.

Giving a grateful smile in his general direction, Bahji nodded. "Bless you,
E'rae." She slowly rose, wrinkling her nose and picking up the pail.
"That sounds...very good, actually." She swallowed again. He was being
so considerate and understanding; she felt her heart warm even more towards
him and then reigned herself back emotionally.

"Allright well if you want to get whatever you need and head to the
bathing pool, I can bring this once it's ready. I probably need a bath too anyway."
He made a show of sniffing himself loudly. Of course, he did still have an
after-scent from their lovemaking of the night before, so it made sense.
**And that way she won't hear me if I burn myself.**

"Okay. I'll take this pail to clean it out." Bahji exhaled and then
smiled towards E'rae. "You smell like me, actually." Her eyes twinkled
in merriment, but she gathered her clothes where she had carefully
left them the night before and dressed. "Thank you, E'rae." She walked
by him, paused to lightly take his hand to kiss it before leaving for
the bathing pool. It took her a few moments and after the pail was
rinsed and cleaned, she made her way to the pool and settled in it
with a soft sigh.
