The master leaned back into the headboard, his head pillowed against his hand. A long satisfied sigh escaped his lips. "Oh, woman, the wonderful things you will do for a couple treats," he groaned with a teasing grin.
Kenza managed a half-hearted laugh, but her head was resting on his chest and not moving any time soon, if she had any say in the matter. "I don't know... I think the doing is its own reward. I chose to believe you give me sweets out of the goodness of your heart."
His rumbled under the greenrider's ear. "I keep giving you sweets to keep tempting you back to the Hall. Faranth knows I'm not young enough anymore to claim to be the _only_ temptation."
"Couldn't prove it by me," she retorted. "Or maybe I'm only so tired because I'm not getting any younger, either..."
"Ah, but you never age, Kenza," he said with a fond smile. "You are still beautiful, strong, witty... and you can still wear me out like no other I have ever known, just like you could _turns_ ago."
"Mmmm..." She tugged the blanket out from under his legs, pulling it over her hips. "But back then, I was in my wild stage. I had lots of men to wear out. Now I'm old and have higher standards in bed partners. You're the only one getting worn out on a regular basis, my handnsome baker." "Oh Kenza," he chuckled as he wrapped his arms around her body, "do you even _know_ how you broke my heart the day you Impressed that green beauty of yours? All those men I have to share you with. But I'm greatful you still take the time to visit an old love-sick fool."
"My answer is the same now as it was then, lover." Kenza glanced up at him with a grin. "If you'd just come to the Weyr, you might be the one person who could change my mind about settling down. I'd take excellent care of you. Maybe nightly."
"Nightly? You really would kill me," he said with a teasing tone, though his eyes couldn't hide the fact that the thought held great appeal. "But who would bake you all the lovely treats you crave?"
"We _do_ have kitchens at Dragonsfall," Kenza replied drowsily. "Probably could fit half of your Hall into them, too." "Well, if you can convince my Hallmaster to move half the Hall into your kitchens, count on me being among them."
"Mmmm..." Kenza peeked up at him. "You think your Hallmaster would be open to my methods of persuasion?" He chuckled as he traced a finger along her cheek. "If you use half the methods of persuasion that you just showed me... I think you'd kill the old man."
Sitting up, Kenza looked down at him. "I'm not entirely joking, you know. I really wouldn't mind seeing you a little more often... or having you a little closer." "Kenza, we've been through this," he said as he sat up to look at her eye to eye.
Sighing, Kenza released the blanket and reached up to smooth her hair back from her face. "I know. You can't blame an old lady for feeling a little lazy, though." And that was all she'd admit to. He reached up to trace his fingers along her jawline. "Shards, Kenza, were I stronger man I would beg you to take me into your weyr and into your bed.
You know that."
"Mmmhmmm." Injured pride was pushed aside easily enough, and any other emotions she didn't much care to ponder. She hid them all behind a mischevious smile. "But I do so like it when you beg, darling."
"Well, I can still beg, can't I?" he gave her a playful pout as his fingers slipped along her shoulders. Kenza chuckled and relaxed back onto her side, propping her head up on her hand so she could watch him. "Any time, lover."
"Hmmm..." he hummed as his eyes wandered down her body which hardly betrayed her true age. She was as fit and healthy as a twenty-turn old and proved time and again as energetic as a tennager. "Now?" he asked in a huskey voice.
"Maybe if you beg..."
