Loella

Loella
Karhal

Karhal

Rikka followed her across the square. Occasionally she'd wander to the
side but came back right away when called. Loella talked to the puppy
the whole way and gave her treats just like Karhal had shown her. The
pup stayed at her heels the whole way.

Once she got there she pushed open the door. "Karhal," she called.
"You should see her, she's following me just like you said." But there
was no answer. She looked though the rooms but didn't find him and
when she got back to the front room she heard the handle turn. "Shh,"
she said to the pup and ran over to the table to hop up on a chair.

Karhal was shifting through a large stack of hides in his hand, not
looking up as he kicked the door behind him. His brow was knitted in a
deep frown as he examined one hide in particular and his eyes
narrowed. He shook his head and stopped as the canine beside him gave
a soft 'whuff', and with a wagging tail moved to greet her pup. His
gaze followed her and then slid to the chair. He blinked at the sight
of Loella in the chair and both brows twitched upwards. He had to ask,
"Hmm..Loella, why exactly are you standing on my chair?"

Loella grinned at him. "Well come here and you'll find out!"

Setting down the hides, he approached and then stood in front of her,
finally able to look her in the eye without bending. His head tilted
slightly and his eyes warmed. The mere presence of the woman tended to
make his worries melt away and he appreciated it more than he could
tell her. "Well?"

She threw her arms around his neck and locked her lips to his.

Sliding his arms around her back, he met her kiss with a low chuckle,
then a soft masculine groan. Not having to bend or pick her up was a
new experience and he was heartily glad she had thought of the chair.
Besides the more equality in height, it gave both of his hands the
opportunity to slide over her back and sides, then upwards to tangle
in her hair. He murmured against her lips, his voice husky. "Good
idea..."

"Oh yes," she said breathlessly. "You're very tall you know." She
went back for another deep kiss, biting his lip a little in the
process.

"No, you're just short..." His words were stopped by her lips and he
groaned at the nip, moving to press her closer. His hands slid back
to her back, lingering at the laces before he finally, and
reluctantly, pulled his lips away. "Faranth, Loella...You're killing
me here." He blew out a breath and slid one hand around to lightly
stroke her ribcage. "Devious female."

"But I _like_ kissing you," she grinned. Her fingers slid though his
hair and her body moulded against his. She wanted to hold him close
but they couldn't take that chance again as badly as she wanted to be
with him. So, they'd kept things quite formal recently and she'd just
broken their unwritten rules. "It feels so good to kiss you," she
breathed.

His eyes closed as she stroked through his hair, a rumble of pleasure
echoing from his chest. "I know. Believe me, I know. I like it too,
but..." When Loella spoke in that breathy tone, so reminiscent of
other soft cries he had heard from her, it was difficult to resist the
woman. The crux of the matter was that he didn't want to resist her.
He bent his head to trail his lips over her neck, teeth lightly
nipping along the soft skin. "Shards but I want you again."

She shivered as his teeth sent culls down her spine. "I want you too,"
her voice trailed off.

He huffed out a breath and rested his brow against her shoulder,
struggling to rein in his own desires. "We can't, sweet. Just two more
months. And then..." He lifted his head. "A very long, enjoyable
wedding night."

She stroked the back of his neck with loving fingers. "I know," she
sighed. "I never thought two months would feel like a Turrn."

He nearly purred against the stroking of her fingers. "It'll be worth
it." His hand cupped her cheek. "I promise."

Her hand rose to his but just then Rikka began making puppy complaints
by the chair and she looked down and received a barking whine in
response. "Silly girl," she grinned. She turned back to Karhal, it was
very nice to be able to look him in the eye. They were such very nice
eyes.

"It would be worth it now," she replied with a smile.

Karhal looked down at the pup and chuckled. "She wants your attention
too..." He then met her eyes and sighed softly. "Yes. Yes it would. It
would be more than worth it." He paused and then slowly slid his hand
to the hem of her skirt. Callused hands found the soft skin of her
calves. "When are you expected home?"

Her eyes opened a touch wider at the feel of his hand on her leg. It
was exactly what she wanted. "Half a candle mark," she answered
relaxing against him.

"Hmm.." He made the noise low in his throat as his eyes slid to the
table and then back to Loella. His lips parted in slow smile as his
hands crept up her legs to her thighs. "There are ways to enjoy
ourselves without taking too much risk." His grin became wider. "I
think it's time I showed you."

She felt weak in the knees but beyond that she loved and trusted him.
"Okay," was about all she could think to say. If he wanted to teach
her something she was perfectly willing to learn.

His eyes flashed wickedly as he lifted her easily, hands on her
bottom, fingers tickling the soft skin. He carried her to the table
and laid her back, sweeping the contents off with a negligent push of
his arm. They clattered to the floor with no notice from him as he
sealed his lips to hers and with a quick twist of his hands, flipped
her skirts up with a muffled chuckle.

A giggle and a mock squeal followed when his fingers singed her. The
twinkle in his eyes told her he was up to mischief so she wasn't at
all afraid. "Karhal," she questioned as her skirts flew up over her
face.
