What Are You Doing Here?

Writers: Chelle, Miriah
Date Posted: 17th January 2014

Characters: E'rae, Bahji
Description: E'rae wakes up to a bit of a surprise
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 5, day 3 of Turn 7

Bahji chewed on her lower lip as the sounds from the flight room grew
louder. The murmur of the other women around her grew more eager as
they shifted on her feet and for a moment, she thought of simply
turning on her feet to leave. She couldn't believe that she was doing
this, waiting outside of a flight room just on the off chance that
he... She took a deep breath and steeled her resolve. She had to
prove to him that she was ready.

The chance that he might win the mating flight and would not emerge
hadn't escaped her, however. What would she do then? She licked her
lower lip and shifted on her feet. It was a chance she was willing to
take. Surely it wouldn't be too bad either way; the thought made her
cheeks flush. She heard the the women around her take a collective
indrawn breath and she straightened, her heart pounding.

The flight had taken some time and when it was over, Leith had not been
victorious. E'rae groaned slightly and felt his dragon's disappointment.
Still, there were vestiges of lust that were running through him. The
bluerider went outside the flightroom, blindly seeking. His arms captured
something soft and he didn't bother worrying about anything else. "Where's
the cot?" he mumbled before pushing himself against his companion.

She was grabbed, but with the scents of sweat and the scent of what she
could only describe as frustrated arousal, she wasn't sure who exactly
grabbed her. A frisson of both fear and excitement shot through her as she
was pressed against an obviously bare male chest. What if E'rae had won? The
hands on her were eager and far more frantic than what she was used to, but
it stirred her into giving off a soft groan. Was she doing the right thing?
The heated press of the body against her, after being untouched for
sevendays was enough to make her give in; she would deal with the
repercussions later. She needed this.

Groaning, he picked up the female that he'd captured and brought her down
to a cot. And then, it was all touching and feeling. He didn't care about
comfort. E'rae didn't even care about clothing. He just wanted release.

What happened next was completely outside of all of Bahji's experience. The
hands that gripped and touched her weren't gentle; they were on fire and she
burnt with them. It was pure passion, pure lust and absolutely no
gentleness. It was simply need and without thought, she surrendered to the
urges of the man who had pulled her away. But more so, it was thrilling to
the core; she forgot about any potential aches or pains. She even forgot
about her arm in the sling, the slight ache was ignored for the larger that
enflamed her.

When it was over, she lay limply, stunned by the passion that had been wrung
out of her, but completely sated.

It took some time before E'rae came back to himself, feeling Leith's lust
pulled back from him. His own was spent and his body was sore, attesting to
that fact. A few moments' investigation revealed that there was a warm
body next to him. He turned over and tried to see but it was dark. A well
placed hand told him the body belonged to a female. Breathing evenly, he
wondered if he should move.

Warm and comfortable, Bahji was jerked out of her reverie by the light hand
that fell upon her. She went still and turned slightly, pushing a lock of
hair out of her face. The furs were comfortable, but suddenly she felt
unsure of herself. What was she supposed to say now? E'rae had always just
laid beside her and she had been able to curl up and cuddle; he had never
been one for talking after bedding her, not really. After a moment, it sunk
in on her what exactly she'd done. She had just shared a wild and passionate
moment, probably the most passionate moment she'd ever experienced, and she
wasn't even certain who she had shared it with!

Shouldn't she be feeling ashamed of herself? After _that_ she was finding it
difficult to find fault in it. But...with a complete stranger? She cleared
her throat. Oh shards, what was she going to say?

When he heard rustling, he knew she was already awake. "That was..very
nice." He wasn't the greatest talker, but he did want whoever it was to know
that it had been enjoyable. Sometimes, some of the women didn't know what
they were getting into. That could be messy and he hoped she was not one of
those.

The voice made her go still and at the same time flooded her with relief.
"E'rae?" Her voice was soft and breathy as she immediately reached out a
hand, searching and finding his shoulder. Quickly, before he moved away, her
fingers flew along his shoulder to his face, fingers searching the features
quickly. No stranger at all!

He knew her voice instantly. Wondering just how and why he was immediately
confused, but out of habit he didn't move when he felt her hand covering his
face. Another thought immediately came to the fore instead. "Oh Faranth, I
didn't break your arm again, did I?" Moving quickly, he was trying to find
the glowbasket so he could see the damage. He knew he had handled her
roughly. And she only half healed..

Bahji lay back on the furs, clothes half on and let her hand fall away as he
moved. She looked rumpled and flushed, but the glow about her face and the
languid, satisfied sprawl of her limbs displayed the fact that she was far
from hurt. Her arm was half out of its sling, but was tucked carefully at
her side. Her head rolled slightly towards him and she shook her head. "No.
I'm fine. Wonderful even." She stretched her legs, grateful to be without
the cast and wiggled her toes. The relief she felt at knowing that a
stranger hadn't bedded her made her far more at ease. She nearly purred as
she flexed her feet and curled her toes in another stretch. "So glad it was
you."

That made him think and his thoughts trailed along until he found himself
surprised. "Glad? How in the shells did you get here Bahji?" He would never
have thought the little holdbred woman would have done such a thing.

At that, she blushed and shifted a little in the furs before giving a
nervous giggle. "Well...I uhm... I heard that Leith was chasing. I asked and
got a drudge to bring me." She stroked the furs with her hand, enjoying the
texture and softness. "I just...well...I'm a woman of the Weyr now, aren't
I? I wanted you to see that and I needed..." She flushed a little brighter.
"I got used to touch, E'rae. I wanted it. I knew that maybe you would win,
but I kind of hoped you wouldn't and you would find me here. I guess I was
lucky."

She was confusing him. "So you're saying you want to flightmoth all sorts of
riders now? That sort of woman of the Weyr? Is that what you mean?" He
would never have thought it, but then again, he would have never thought he
would be in this situation either.

Her jaw dropped and for the first time, she felt an honest rush of shame.
"What? No..." She sat up, quickly arranging the mess that was her skirts and
she swallowed. "I just wanted you...and you wouldn't so I thought that if
you didn?t win and I was here..." her voice trailed off and she sucked in
her lower lip. "I guess it was a stupid idea."

He sat down next to her and tried to think, but it was hard. She had
confused him and he was also still feeling a bit from the flight. Trying to
order his thoughts, he spoke calmly. "What I'm saying is-I don't understand
why you wanted to do this. When you said that, it made me think you wanted
something else. I mean, you could be doing this for so many reasons. After all,
there was a much larger chance that it wasn't going to be me. So did you
choose this wanting to be with someone else? Or did you really never think
of that? Or the fact that you might have been hurt-had it been me or someone
else...I just...I'm trying to understand. Usually women who do this..welll...
they're not holders and they don't care who they get and they might
even like to get hurt."

"I wanted you." She replied softly. "I knew that it was a chance, but
I thought if you didn't win, you'd see me and pick me. Isn't that what
happened? You saw me and grabbed me, right? I figured it was worth the
chance." She nibbled on her lower lip. "It wasn't about wanting to be
with anyone else and I didn't get hurt." The last part was said a
little stubbornly before she sighed. "So...you think I shouldn't have
been here? I just wanted you and you keep thinking that you can't
touch me."

"No I didn't see you. I didn't see anything. I just grabbed the closest."
He needed to make her understand. It was hard without her being a
dragonrider or even weyrbred. "I was waiting until the right time. I
mean...here you are in a sling. But apparently if...well if you didn't get
hurt then maybe it would be okay from now on." He was trying to think it
through as the fog in his brain lifted. "You do know that this was a drastic
thing to do right? It would have been much easier just to go to the healer-see
if it was okay-and then just tell me."

She stubbornly lifted her chin. "I've been to a healer. Twice." She ran a
hand through her already messy hair and carefully swung her legs over the
side of the cot. Feeling with her toes, she found the floor and arranged her
skirts over her knees. "I wish you'd stop treating me like I don't know what
I'm doing. Maybe I didn't make the best decision, but I don't need to feel
ashamed of it. I liked what you did just now and it didn't hurt me at all.
For once you weren't treating me like I was going to break. " She didn't
have her cane that the Healer had suggested, but her leg wasn't aching right
now...her head was.

"Right you've been. But YOU didn't tell me. So how was I supposed to know?
I don't know what the healer said or anything." He was trying not to get
angry. E'rae was usually not a very angry person. This, though, was
irritating him. "I'm not trying to make you ashamed. I'm trying to figure
out why you did it. And if you understand what you did. I mean...are you
going to do it again?" He was gesturing wildly. He was still naked. And then
he almost tripped over the cot with only glowbaskets to go by. Catching
himself on the wall first, he stopped moving.

"You didn't ask!" Bahji stood, one hand on her hip. Her stance of stubborn
irritation was marred by the fact that she was bare chested; her blouse was
still untied, hanging off of her shoulders and her skirt was half-tucked
into itself, revealing a length of pale thigh and slice of smooth hip. In
her own upset, his own irritation only fueled her own. "And I told you why I
did it. Because I wanted you. Oooo! " She threw up her hand in frustration.
"No, No I won't do _this_ again. " She heard him stumble and stopped with a
frown. "Are you okay?"

"I just stubbed my toe. Faranth..." He took a breath and tried to think
straight. He was wide awake now. "No I didn't ask because I thought you knew
if you went to the healers, I would want to know. Just like if you're hurt, I want
to know." He turned the tables on her then. "I mean if I got Threadscored,
wouldn't you want to know?"

She stopped, her mouth open and then slowly closed it. "Yes." She spoke
softly. "Yes, I would."

"So then do you understand now?" He was quiet then, trying to find his
clothes and get dressed so they could have this conversation somewhere else
and not in a mating cot.

She hugged herself and nodded slowly. She still didn't understand his
confusion over her actions, but it wouldn't be something she would repeat.
Not again.
