Description: Solith takes flight and chooses a winner
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 4, day 4 of Turn 7
She'd been feeling that proddy feeling the past few days and knew it
was coming soon. Kenza was actually eager for Solith to rise so she
could stop barking at everyone who crossed her path. Then again,
sometimes it felt _good_ to bark. That thought made her grin as she
sipped her klah. Yup, klah now, almost all the time. That or other
non-alcoholic drinks. That was all part of her recovery plan, and she
was determined to stick to it.
She'd just settled down to reading a nice fictional scroll when she
felt Solith rise from her perch.
}:Ah! It is time!:{ The green declared triumphantly as she burst off
the ledge. Dropping her story, Kenza quickly followed knowing exactly
what was to happen.
Solith flew down to the bowl and issued her challenge. }:Who dares to
chase me this night? Who deems themselves worthy of my beauty?:{
A blue, old enough that the color of his hide was beginning to fade
around the joints, but still young enough to be agile met Solith's
challenge. }: I will chase! :{ Juryth trumpeted his intentions and
unfurled his wings.
V'diz, appeared shortly after, iron grey hair glistening. He had been
in the middle of his bath when Juryth decided to test his mettle
against younger dragons once again.
}: I am, :{ Galerith declared, landing on the bowl and leaving his
rider scampering after him. Sh'lua was just getting somewhere with the
greenrider when he had to excuse and leave him for a Mating Flight.
** This better be good,** he grumbled. He was switching a certain
bedpartner to the uncertainity of Mating Flight.
K'ale ran and jumped on Imalkyth as soon as he had the straps settled.
**Don't you dare,** he said firmly when the pull seemed almost too
strong. **Solith's is my mother.** The dropped from his ledge and were
soon winging toward the Star Stones and /between/.
D'ale on the other hand came trotting toward the gathering group and
Torerath's bulk settled itself near where the glowing green made her
challenge known.
Solith bugled her delight at the chasers and took to the air with a
swish of her tail and a loud call of joy. She was eager for the chase
and the thrill that it would bring her.
Kenza, meanwhile, watched and waited along with her mate. She had no
preferences for the winner and was simply eager to relieve the
feelings of passion that were already coursing through her.
Juryth's experience showed as he hung back, waiting for the inevitable displays of acrobatics. While the brown and the bronze may have been bigger, he was far more agile and able to follow any quick turns the green might decide upon. Refusing to tire himself out, he simply kept pace, sending a croon of encouragement to the green to fly higher
V'diz watched Kenza with interest; he knew her of course, and Juryth had chased her Solith many times. He glanced at his competition and grimaced slightly; D'ale had more of a chance, considering his background with the woman, but his own blue might surprise them.
Galerith was doing well, following Solith. She was experienced green, but Galerith hadn't born yesterday either. The big blue used his bulk to shake off the smaller blues. The bronzes and browns were tougher competition thought.
On the ground, Sh'lua eyed Kenza with a open lust. He wouldn't mind bedding her again!
Torerath veered to the right and into the clouds. Having chased Solith so many times he knew her habits she was a wily one but if she didn't see his dark bulk in the cloud perhaps he could snatch her. D'ale took a step closer.
Solith knew she couldn't keep up the fast paced speed of the Flight much longer. She ducked low, twisted in the sky to tease her chasers and burst forth with one final push of speed before nearly colliding with Galerith in the sky. In a matter of moments her own release would be matched by the feelings of passion and intensity that would soon follow there on the ground.
Galerith didn't hesitate to wrap his neck and tail with hers. On the ground, Sh'lua wrapped his arms around the greenrider.
Torerath turned away disappointed, but D'ale was more relieved than anything else. A flight won with his son's mother might be difficult for his weyrmate to swallow and he dearly wanted to keep her happy. He brushed aside the hands of waiting flight moths and directly back to his own weyr.
