Finally feeling up to working in the weavery, Bahji laid her crutches
aside as she sat quietly in front of a small loom. She laid her hands
on it, pausing and taking a breath. She could get back to her
previous way of life, she decided; it would do little good to lay in
her room and do nothing. Still, it took effort not to get back up and
go to her small little room and hide away. It was only an effort of
will that made her remain at the loom.

She could do this. Taking another breath, she took the time to relearn
the feeling of the loom, her fingers ghosting over it. It was a small
thing, and her fingers remembered it well enough.

Gelira hadn't expected to see Bahji at the weaver's today. She'd
stopped by to visit her friend often during her recovery. When she
first walked into the room, she stopped and simply stared. Then she
smiled. It was good to see Bahji working again.

"Bahji!" She said, moving to her side. "It's so good to see you here.
I didn't know you'd started back to your weaving again. I'm so happy."

Bahji started; she had been concentrating so hard that she'd not heard
the footsteps nearing her. Turning, she gave a slight smile. "I had to
do something, I guess." She took a breath. "I couldn't stay in my room
forever. How are you doing?"

Gelira moved closer, grabbing a chair and pulling it over towards
Bahji. "I'm doing good. How are _you_ doing today?" She'd been so
worried about her friend. She was glad she was finally on the mend,
though her heart still broke for what had happened.

"Todays a little better than yesterday and yesterday was better than
the day before." Bahji replied and laid her hands in her lap. "I'm not
hurting physically as much. Just a few aches, but I'll be glad when I
can walk without a crutch." She tilted her head. "You never told me
how Z'an took your news."

"Oh," Gelira smiled, "He took it _way_ better than I expected. He's
_very_ excited. He's been by to visit quite often and wants to do
whatever he can to help." Gelira's joy diminished slightly when she
looked at Bahji and recalled what her friend had lost. That thought
was hard for Gelira to stomach as she moved her hand over her own
abdomen which had yet to _really_ start to show for others.

The blind girl's smile was gentle as she reached over, searching for
Gelira's hand. "I'm glad for you. I really am. Perhaps...perhaps I can
help from time to time?"

"Oh, Bahji, I would like that very much," Gelira replied giving her
friends hand a squeeze. She knew how difficult things had been for
Bahji, but most importantly Gelira didn't want to lose her friendship.

She took a breath and nodded. "So would I. Besides.." She offered a
more genuine smile. "I want to help and when it's time for me
again...if it ever happens, you can help me." She turned a little. "
But lets not discuss that. Tell me, have you thought of any names? Do
you need anything, like a blanket?"

"A blanket would be great. I don't really have anything specific for
the babe yet. As for names, I guess I should talk to Z'an about that
and see if we can come up with some ideas. We haven't really discussed
it much." In fact she hadn't really thought of it much, but now that
Bahji mentioned it, Gelira found she had some thoughts and feelings on
the matter. She wondered what Z'an would think.

"I'll make you one, then." Bahji replied promptly and brightened. "It
may not be colorful, but I'll do some textures that the babe would
enjoy." The prospect of weaving suddenly didn't seem dreadful to her,
now that she had some sort of inspiration. A soft corded blanket,
perhaps, with a basket weave pattern... "I'd like to meet your Z'an
sometime. He sounds like a good man."

"Thank you, Bahji. I know whatever you will make will be amazing." She
dropped her hand to her abdomen and added, "I know the babe will
appreciate it because it came from you." Then Gelira added, "As for
Z'an, he's full of life and energy. You'd like him. Perhaps the next
time he's around we can have lunch or dinner together."

"I'd like that. I really would." Bahji smiled widely, eager to find
other things to do to distract her from what had happened. "I can even
cook! I really can." She turned in her chair and grasped at Gelira's
hands. "Let me do that for the both of you. I'd really enjoy it."

Gelira smiled and moved her hands up and down in a yes motion. "I
would _love_ that Bahji. I'll let you know as soon as Z'an is coming
again." She released her hands and turned instead to hug her friend.
