Description: Karhal and Loella finally get their wedding night
Location: Amber Hills Hold
Date: month 6, day 21 of Turn 7
Loella hummed as she finished up the last of the dishes from dinner.
Karhal sat in front of the fire. Maybe her happiness had something to
do with how much strength he'd gained back in the last few days at
home.
She'd given him a protein rich diet to help him rebuild his muscle
mass. After all Karhal wasn't a small man in any sense of the word.
"Did you want another piece of pie," she called to check before she put it
away.
Karhal turned his head towards Loella. "No, not right now. I think the
last two pieces were more than enough." His lips lifted slightly. "If
I didn't know better, Loella, I would think you were trying to expand
my middle."
She just smiled across the room at him. They were finally starting
their life together and just having him home and getting better every
day meant more to her than she could possibly convey. "I'm just trying
to help you get stronger. That food they gave you at the infirmary,"
she shook her head.
"Was disgusting." Karhal readily agreed. "Most infirmary foods are.
Bland, tasteless..." He watched her for a moment before speaking
softly. "Leave the dishes, Loella. They can wait. Come and sit with me
for a minute."
"I'm done," she smiled pulling her apron off and tucking it over the
rod to dry. She straightened a chair as she passed the table but
continued on to sit next to him. "How are you feeling?"
"Better." He turned slightly. "Not up to jogging around the Hold yet,
but..." He shrugged and finally let his lips lift slightly. Tucking a
stray bit of hair behind her ear, he let his thumb caress her cheek.
"You shouldn't have had to go through this."
"Not your fault," she shook her head and then leaned against him. "I'm
just glad you're safe."
He pursed his lip slightly and his voice deepened. "But I didn't want
you to see something like this." He lifted his arm to wrap it around
her shoulders. "This wasn't the start I imagined."
"Me either," she agreed. "But it's not like you had a choice," she
tilted her face to look up into his oh so big pale grey-blue eyes.
Some might find them icy but they weren't when they looked at her.
"No, nor did you. But the stress..." He moved his hand to lay it on
her stomach, fingers spread wide. "I don't want anything to happen to
you or our child. You have to start relaxing a bit more, Loella. I'm
home and I want you to take it easy for a while."
Loella was usually neat as a pin and the thought of letting things
slide even a little when she'd worked so hard to get the house in
order. "You know I like to clean right," she teased him. "It kept me
busy while you were so sick." She nodded and hugged him with her other
arm across his waist. "But I'll be careful."
"I know." He tugged her close, his fingers stroking slowly over her
stomach in small circling caresses. His voice was a low rumble as he
bent to brush his lips over her brow. "And you never got your wedding
night either."
A small sigh escaped her when her body reacted to his caress. "We
didn't," she breathed . "Are you..." the question hovered in the air
as she lifted her face to his.
"Am I what?" He murmured softly as he tugged her into his lap. It
wasn't as easy as it had been, but she was so little, it still wasn't
overly difficult. He reached down to the hem of her dress and pulled
it slowly up her calves, fingers tracing the soft skin being expose.
Her eyes got big at once happy and cautious. "Are you sure you have
the strength?" 'Tho she didn't fight him at all or try to push away.
This was what she wanted.
He looked down at his lap and then at her. His brow arched. Part of
him was very willing. "We can adjust." He slipped the hem of her gown
upwards to her thighs. He bent slightly to nuzzle her neck. "I've
missed you."
"So I see," she smiled and adjusted her position slightly. "Oh
Karhal," her breathing deepened as his hand roamed up her thigh. She'd
been tightly controlling her need to feel him again while he was sick
but these weren't the attentions of a sick man. A smile curved her
lips and she turned her face to use her tongue and pull his earlobe
between her teeth.
There was a quick indrawn breath as her teeth found his ear and his
hand tightened on her thigh. "Sweet...if you're wanting soft and
romantic, you're well on your way to pushing me beyond that."
"I want _you_," she replied with a rather intense look. "You're
willing I can tell," a twinkle lit her eyes. "Are you able?"
He groaned and sealed his lips to hers in answer to her challenge. The
kiss was full of heightened desire and love, but also one of need. He
pulled her up to straddle his lap, his hands lifting her skirts as he
cupped her rear over her undergarments. He pulled his mouth away from
hers only to slide it along her neck and down to her shoulders to
nibble at the soft skin there. "Dress. Off."
When he pulled her against him with her skirt lifted she could feel
his desire and she responded to the kiss with her own passion. She
shivered as a delicious tingle ran down her back trailing from his
mouth on her shoulder. She pushed away from him and gained her feet
just out of his reach. Her eyes locked with his and smoldered as she
slowly began to undo her laces. Sliding one shoulder after the other
out of her bodice she pushed the dress down over her hips to puddle on
the floor. She stepped sideways out of the dress and kicked it aside
then again standing in front of him pulled the little pink ribbon that
held the neck of her chemise together. "This too?"
Karhal's mouth parted at Loella's boldness and there was an instant
flare of heat in his eyes as he sat up to watch her closely. He gave a
rough swallow and nodded. "Yes. That too."
A small smile bowed her lips as she saw the intensity in his eyes.
Slowly she pulled the ribbon loose and let the straps fall to her
waist revealing her rounded breasts. Her petticoats dropped and then
she stood naked in front of him for a moment the small swell on her
lower abdomen evidence of her early stages of pregnancy. "Follow me,"
she said stepping out of the white puddle of underclothes and walking
to the door of their bedroom.
He was almost salivating at the sight and he rose as quickly as he was
able to follow his wife to what was now their shared bed. He watched
the sway of her hips as she walked, memorizing the flex and pull of
the muscles of her bottom. "Gladly." It struck him then that this
would be their first night together as a couple; she wouldn't have to
rush home and perhaps the evening, if his strength didn't fail him,
could be a long one. His lips lifted at the thought. As Loella
reached the door of their bedroom, he stopped her. "Wait. I didn't get
to do this before but..." He took a deep breath and scooped her up in
his arms to walk into the room. It was fortunate that she was light,
else his strength may have failed him completely. As it was, he was
able to carry her into their bedroom to lay her on the bed. "I've been
wanting to do that..."
She gasped when he picked her up but her eyes were shining when he
laid her on the bed. "I love you," she said and opened her arms.
He came to her willingly, pressing his mouth against hers with
tenderness. "And I you, wife."
