Humari

Humari

It didn't take long. Taril finished with a grunt and a gasp, and rolled off
her a moment later to stare at the ceiling. Once he'd caught his breath he
said a quiet, "Thank you," and wasn't quite sure why he'd said it.

Sore and uncertain, Humari slowly let her legs relax. Realizing she was
still naked, but on top of the blankets, she flushed and looked around for a
blanket. Anything to cover herself with; she found none. She cleared her
throat, turned her head towards him and asked in a soft, quiet voice. "Did
I please you?"

Her question made him realize that he ought to say something... more. So he
said, "Yes," after a moment. "Very much so."

There was a moment of silence as Humari felt the soreness between her legs.
Hopefully it wouldn't hurt too badly next time. "Good." And she hoped that
his seed took root. It wouldn't be so bad. Once she was with child he'd not
want to do that. Right? That's what Torinya said. "I'm glad I did. Uhm...so
what do we do now?"

There was a long pause. "Honestly? I have no idea," Taril said after a
moment. "I'm as new to being married as you are." There was a rustle in the
dark as he tentatively took her hand. "But at least there's two of us who
don't know what we do now."

She hesitantly wound her fingers with his. It had been a long day, but
simply holding his hand brought some measure of comfort. She felt sleepiness
wash over her. "Maybe we could get under the blankets." She stifled a yawn.

"That sounds eminently sensible. Hold on a moment..." Taril rolled off the
bed, then felt around in the dark until he found his pants. He pulled them
on, suddenly self-conscious of his half-leg, before hopping to where he'd
left a glow. "I'm going to turn on a light. For if you need to find
anything. Water? A night gown?"

"Uhm...a night gown. And water." She sat up, hissing a bit at the pain
between her thighs, but managed to bring her knees up to hide her chest. She
paused a moment. "Did you want me to get you some water too?"

"I'll get water." It would give him a chance to-- Taril grabbed his crutch
and hurried out so that he didn't have to confront the problem of the woman
in his bed. He felt... he wasn't sure what he felt. Off balance. Sated.
Happy? Angry at the bruising stippling her back, and wondering if he'd done
her another disservice. Wondering if he cared enough to let her go.

He had poured water from the jug in the main room into a glass before
realizing that he'd have to change in front of her. All his sleeping clothes
were in his--their bedroom. Desperately he cast around the room, wondering
if it was possible to avoid baring skin. But there was nothing, so he
grimaced, picked up the water, and hobbled back to where he'd left Humari.
She was dressed and sitting stiffly upright on one side of the bed, the
blankets pulled up as far as they could go. "Here," he said, holding the
glass out to her. "You can leave the glass by the bed. It'll be fine until
morning."

She would have gotten up herself. Perhaps she should have, but he knew this
home better than she did. She would have to remedy that quickly, especially
since it was going to be her responsibility from now on. He may have taken
her, but she knew full well that should he choose, he could still cast her
aside. She would have to be an excellent wife to him. She knew how to keep
house and how to cook. Perhaps if he bedded her often and it didn't hurt too
much, she could find herself with child.

As he came back in, she looked up, her face thoughtful as she took the
glass. "Thank you." She took a long drink and sighed with relief. Setting
aside as he had instructed, she looked quickly at him, then lowered her
eyes. "Taril?" She took a slow breath and licked her lips as her hands
plucked at the blankets. "I'll do my best to be the wife you deserve."

He smiled, a little bitterly. The wife he deserved... clearly that was
what he'd already bound himself to. He wasn't a good man, and it was
catching up with him. "Thank you. That's all I can ask."
