If you have a picture you'd like to add to the website, just send an email to webadmin@triadweyrs.org with the picture attached. The webbies (and if necessary, the Council) will make a decision as to whether it is appropriate for our site and if so, add it to the Gallery.

Here are some other guidelines for what will be accepted and posted.

1. Pictures can be original artwork created by you.

2. Pictures may not be unaltered photographs

3. Drawings like those of celebrities on Deviantart.com must either be your own work or used by permission of the original artist with a link provided to their DeviantArt account.

4. Photographs of Celebrities may be used if they are altered to look like drawings or paintings (see #2). Please try NOT to use the same celebrity someone else has claimed for their Persona.

When you submit the artwork you must also provide the following:

* Name/Rank of subject persona
* Name of photographer or artist of original work (or Unknown if you can't find the information) and the subject of the photo (i.e. the name of the person.)
* Name of person who performed deviation of the original work (if any)

If you can, please try and resize your picture and save it in a compressed format (such as JPEG) before sending it so it is a reasonably sized file (less than 500KB is good). If you have any questions about picture formats, email the webbies and ask.

You will need to submit a picture of the persona to the Webbies. In your email, you should indicate the name of the persona profile to which the picture should be added.

You are welcome to submit multiple pictures of your persona, but only one can be displayed in the profile at a time.

==What is the Council?==
The Triad Weyrs Council is a part administrative body and part democracy. The Council works together to solve problems and answer questions, as well as doing all that pesky admin work that comes along with a club of any size.

All Council members must adhere to the tenets of the scenario and have no canon violations with any persona. Any Council Member may resign their Seat at any time without losing their basic membership or ranking persona.

The number of Council Seats varies due to club needs and can change if additional administrative help is required.

===Council Duties===
#Persona Approval: Triad Weyrs has always been very strict canon club, and has years of highly involved club canon to consider when creating new personas. Our Council makes sure all personas are being reviewed within a reasonable time span, and check up on persona edits to make sure everything runs smoothly. The Council also updates personas who are switching from being a candidate to a jr. weyrling, jr. weyrling to sr. weyrling, and sr. weyrlings into the wings.
#Lead Timeliners: Thanks to the skills of our database programmer, Triad Weyrs has a comprehensive database of past posts. The Council works with the #Area Administrators to make sure posts get entered in a timely fashion. They also work on the backlog of posts from previous years.
#Web Monkey Duties: With a large and comprehensive website and database, it is our Web Monkey's duty to keep the website running and update with new features. They also take care of our database driven calendar which lists Threadfall, Mating Flights and Weather.
#FAQ and Graphic Updates: With a robust database and significant information contained there, the job of updating the site text and graphics to reflect the current status of the club is an ongoing job. The Council manages the information and adds to the ever expanding database.
#Forum Duties: Our forum is large and ever growing so our council is also in charge of keeping things friendly and fun on our expansive forums. Duties include pruning old posts, updating member information, managing groups and special areas.
#Crayon Awards: Nominations are run in our forums and then Voting follows via survey software. Finally, the awards are entered into member records. This is a quarterly task the Council performs on behalf of the membership.
#Welcome Wagon: The council also tries to make sure we take care of new members, including the ones who haven't found their way to us yet. Duties include organizing volunteers to advertise the club and welcome new members as well as assigning mentors and making sure all our newbies get the very best of care.
#Monitoring member submissions for rule violations and scenario consistency.

We follow the books, particularly the later books such as Renegades, Dolphins, and Masterharper, fairly closely. This isn't to say that 'if it's not in the books, it's not in the club', but that if the books specifically state something is done a certain way, that's our canon. Allowances are made for more than 1200 turns since the end of the Ninth Pass, and we do have some limited technological advances, such as electricity in major Holds. There are no such things as "pillowcrafters" (a fandom term for prostitutes) on Pern.

#Our club is set over 1200 turns after the end of the Ninth Pass. The names of the characters from the books have pretty much faded from memory. Out of respect for AM and her works, mentions of any of the book characters are not permitted.

Likewise, male dragonriders put on a lot of muscle, so a 6'0"; rider is going to weigh 200 pounds or more.

*The Persona History is a brief description of the persona's life up to the present time and might include where they were born, what their childhood was like, any training they received in a craft or a hold job, whether they Impressed or acquired any pets, and any marriages, children, or bereavements.

*Remember to check the descriptions and histories of any locations where your persona lived - especially if your character is a female crafter. Women have been banned from the crafts in most Holds and Halls in the South for more than 40 Turns. ===Persona Status===
*Most active personas in the club are ranked PC, which stands for "Player Character". These are the main characters that posts are written about. However, there are several other categories of "Non-Player Character" (NPC), "Adoptable Player Character (ANPC), and "Owned Player Character" (ONPC).

===Attached NPCs===
The "Attached NPCs" area on the form can be used to list the family and friends of a persona. Usually, it's a good idea to include their father and mother and any siblings they might have. In the Holds in particular, where the population is recovering from the effects of the Plagues and women are valued most for the children they can bear, families with three or more children are common and an only child is rare.

*The same rules about choosing a logical name, age and rank for NPCs apply as for PCs. If you choose parents of high rank (for example, a Lord Holder or Weyrleader) you should be aware that you may be asked to change this before the persona can be approved.

*To avoid confusion, NPCs cannot have the same name as other NPCs or PCs. If you would like to link an NPC to more than one persona (for example, if you have created a brother and sister as PCs and need them to share the same mother and father) you will be able to do this after submitting the persona form.

*To do this, click on the "Add Connections" link in the box to the left of the profile of the PC to whom you'd like to add NPCs. You can then select the NPC's name from the drop-down box below the title "Link NPCs" and type in their relationship to the persona. A similar process can be used to link existing PCs to a persona, or to add existing pets to their profile. If the PC or NPC you are linking is not owned by you, you should check with the owner to make sure they're happy with the link!

Strict Canon Rules

We follow the books, particularly the later books such as Renegades, Dolphins, and Masterharper, fairly closely. This isn't to say that 'if it's not in the books, it's not in the club', but that if the books specifically state something is done a certain way, that's our canon. Allowances are made for more than 1200 turns since the end of the Ninth Pass, and we do have some limited technological advances, such as electricity in major Holds. We aren't going to go around harassing members for asking questions, but we do ask that members not try to introduce pillowcrafters (a fandom term for prostitutes), female brown or blueriders, and other such innovations into our storylines.

That being said, some of the rules that used to appear on our AM rules page still are followed. Those would be:

#Our club is set over 1200 turns after the end of the Ninth Pass. The names of the characters from the books have pretty much faded from memory. Out of respect for AM and her works, mentions of any of the book characters are not permitted.
#In our timeline, Benden Weyr has only been reopened for a few Turns. No persona would have been born there.
#All dragon names must end in -th, and no names from the books may be used. ''See [[Anne's Names]]''
#There are no absolute restrictions on dragonriders' sexuality, but please be aware of our FAQ on dragon color and sexual orientation when creating and writing about a dragonrider or candidate character's preferences. Any issues with mating flights which would cause a rider or their dragon serious distress must be approved by the Council. Otherwise, mating flight situations are up to the participants; stand-ins are not allowed.
#Green dragons are rendered infertile both by chewing firestone and by genetics.
#All dragons live in Weyrs. Even watchdragons return to their Weyrs when off duty. No rogue dragons are allowed, and no dragons attacking humans or other dragons (except golds in mating heat).
#Dragons cannot outlive their riders. Dragons suicide /between/ the instant their rider dies, sometimes sooner in the case of blues or greens agitated by rider illness or severe injury.
#Personas with a disability that would prevent them from fighting Thread will usually not be allowed to become a Candidate, and any such Impression must be approved by the Council (if you are not sure, please ask). Injuries which happen after Impression are allowed (with approval from the L1 if they happen in a post and are serious) and are much more likely as we are in a Pass.
