This has been a difficult month for the residents of Dragonsfall Weyr. Relationship troubles and questions of leadership abound!
First, U'kaiah, still dealing with the loss of his relationship with Trae, tried one evening to seduce greenrider Aileyan with embarrasingly little success. Perhaps he's not as charming as he once thought, or, maybe the greenrider just has standards!
Nialyn and K'lar have a bit of a tiff when the brownrider came home after losing a Flight. He had worked off his dragonlust with another, which reminded Nia a little too much of Birigundi's wandering ways. He assures her that he never did it to hurt her, but in the end he makes her a promise - he would never go to another woman as long as it was under his control. Nia considers this a victory, but not a happy one.
Teseada ran into her half-brother J'nev as he cleaned out the toilets - in trouble yet again. They both seem to not be talking to their father, D'nev. J'nev tells her about his problems with the Weyrling Staff (of course feeling it was all THEIR fault), and reveals that he doesn't really feel as though he has any direction in his life anymore. Teseada tries to give him advice, but J'nev doesn't seem ready to hear it.
The big news, of course, was Weyrleader T'mahl's breakdown. It seems that when he was supposed to lead the people into Threadfall the first time, he flashed back to the day he was scored four turns before. He panics and begins tearing apart an infirmary closet. When U'kaiah comes to find him, the Weyrleader begs to not be made to go up there again. The Wingleader in disgust decides that he must have cracked his shell, and convinces the Weyrwoman to depose T'mahl and elevate him to Weyrleader instead. She agrees as long as T'mahl really can't recover, and U'kaiah leads the Weyr into Threadfall in the Weyrleader's place. Telemon, however, seems to be of the opinion that T'mahl's condition was only temporary and that in time he could lead the Weyr into Threadfall, but will Kapera see things that way?
Finally, in happier news, the former Weyrleader, D'wrayt, seems to have popped back up again, much to everyone's delight! He spent a little time with his family - his children and grandchildren especially have missed him! He spends time catching up with his turn-old-son Daril and his daughters children. They decide to all go down and eat the evening meal together.
There will soon be Eggs on the Sands at Dragonsfall and a new batch of Weyrlings! We can also look forward to a familiar bronzerider stepping up into an unexpected leadership position... Want to know who? Keep watching, or better yet, join on in!
