Mid-month 12 Trellyn is alerted to the hatching of the firelizard eggs and races to get Ednan to the egg on time. The hatchling is a little brown that Ednan names 'Brun'.

On the first day of month 13 the Hallmaster asks to see Alydelle after Leisenn has heard from the dolphins that there is another complication in the apprentice's already difficult circumstances. There is no possibility of the girl being returned to her family so Leisenn manages to come up with some other options for the pregnant dolphineer. Aly is just pleased she'll be allowed to stay in the craft.

Later that day Leisenn has another interview with an young apprentice, this one much much easier going. She talks with Chalzie and discovers the girl is from the Weyr next door.

Also early in the month the Harper Hallsecond, Master Thanja, visits the Dolphin Hall and catches up with the former Dolphin Hall Hallmaster, Master Mosler, finding him swimming with a few of the local dolphins.

The Hall needs a Headwoman. Great job, good coposters. Very suitable for a writer's 'first rank' in the club or for an established writer who wants a not-so-typical role in the Dolphin Hall. Please do give it some thought.

Month 13 is racing away (as it does) and the Control Post for the Turns Beginning celebration at dawn is under action. It will be posted on 1st January 09 (US time) and then people are free to (and encouraged to!) post their own posts for the celebration.
