Late in the first sevenday of month 12 senior apprentice Ednan gets to pick out a firelizard egg journeywoman as Trellyn promised him he could. The egg will hatch in a sevenday or so and then we'll see what colour the firelizard really is.

On the first restday of the month Hallmaster Leisenn catches up with apprentice Westni as part of her plan to meet and speak to every apprentice at the Hall. The master dolphineer discovers that this young female apprentice is a local girl - from Dolphin Cove Weyr.

Midway through the second sevenday, Leisenn takes a morning off to explore the local bays with her dolphin partner, the very young male, Tu. Later in the sevenday we see her working with her latest assistant, journeyman Tandor, on the plans for the Hall's Turn Over celebrations.

On d15 Leisenn discovers the former Hallmaster on the beach, collecting shells from which to make necklaces. She tries (unsuccessfully) to convince him that she needs his skills as a Hallsecond, but the man seems happy as a beachcomber.
