Lanniya slid down Anaeryth's side, the gold immediately drawing the
attention of the bronzes nearby. She thought Cyradis was going to
greet her at her arrival, but the almost immediate attention from the
bronzes and their clamor forced her to turn her attention to trying to
block them out. Her brow knit as she peered at them. **Back, you.
You're getting loud. **

}: I like it. :{ Anaeryth preened smugly.

Panitath's mellow contralto muted the riot as she spoke. }:Greetings
to you. Mine comes.:{ The riot of greeting subsided as the senior gold
glided from her warm perch on the heights and shoulder aside the bevy
of admirers. }:You are very welcome here, both of you.:{ she included
the gold's rider for she'd spoken with Vilarth and knew Anaeryth's
could hear her.

Cyraids' tiny form moved out of the shadows of the hatching cavern's
entrance. "Welcome Lanniya," she smiled her greeting. She swept her
customary skirts in a curtsy to the gold. "And welcome Anaeryth."

Lanniya relaxed a little at the calm entrance and the warm welcome of
the senior gold. She hadn't been sure how the gold would greet her at
all. **Thank you, Panitath.** She let Anaeryth settle and greet the
elder gold dragon as she turned to see Cyradis. She gave a curtsy that
wasn't as nice as it would have been if she'd been allowed to ride in
her own skirts. "Thank you." She stayed near Anaeryth, obviously a
little wary, but her natural inclination to be far more outgoing began
to assert itself and she smiled a little more broadly. " Guess I'm
here for a while."

Aughashyth wasn't far behind Anaeryth and a low growl of warning
issued from his throat claiming his prize and warning the encroaching
bronzes.

Panithath's neck curved as she greeted the large bronze who
acknowledged her with a much nicer croon before rubbing his headknobs
against the other side of Anaeryth's neck.

Y'gel smiled as he stepped forward with a bow first to the Senior
Queen and then to the Weyrwoman. "Ma'am," he said by way of greeting.

"Oh," Cyradis was a little surprised by the bronze and rider. "I
wasn't aware you'd be joining us here."

"Neither was I until it came time for us to leave River Bluff," he
half chuckled. "But it seems our lifemates have made that decision for
us."

Cyradis nodded with a smile. "I understand," she said. "I'll make sure
we have quarters made available for you." She had no doubt Chayseya
would have him quartered the moment she found out about it. "You'll
be in here," she said to Lanniya and turned toward the wide entrance
of the hatching cavern. "We have weyrs here for our queens when they
get close to term to give them direct access to the Sands."

Lanniya slung her small bag of belongings over her shoulder, relieved
that Panitath had taken the other bronzes in hand and that they had
quieted. She would have liked to be somewhere near her sister, at
least to start out with, but Z'ku and Pierka's weyr wasn't close to
the sands, probably due to rank, she figured. She then thought of
K'ale. "I can have visitors though, right? I mean, from other Weyrs?"

Cyradis head tilted and her brows twitched. That was a loaded question
but having just changed Weyrs of course she'd likely have visitors
from other places. "I don't see why not dear," she smiled indulgently.
"Will your parents or grandparents be joining us?"

Aughashyth hovered protectively near Anaeryth as they followed their
slower lifemates into the wide cavern. In several places around the
interior there were obvious openings into the interior of the lower
caverns as well as individual queen Weyrs.

Lanniya shook her head. "No...they've decided to go back on the
trading routes." There was sadness in the answer, but also
resignation. "They'll be coming to visit though, as much as they can."
But she was relieved too. She wanted to see K'ale and wondered if he'd
be coming soon. She assumed he would be, or at least, she hoped he
would.

She'd been to Dolphin's Cove plenty of times, and had met people, but
was still surprise by the interest Anaeryth and Aughashyth were
garnering. "I hope we're not going to cause too much upset. But I'm
sure the Candidates are excited, aren't they?"

"Yes," Cyradis chuckled. "Candidates are usually excited. Remember
when you were?"

"Sure." Around Cyradis' open demeanor, Lanniya was quickly relaxing
and becoming more at ease; it showed around the set of her shoulder
and her widening, more open smile. She glanced at Y'gel and the
sparkle showed in her eyes again. "So, what's the first thing I need
to do?" She paused and glanced at Y'gel again before continuing.
"Please don't tell me hide work. Please."

"Well we all have to do that, like we have to do everything else. But,
it's not the only thing. Besides, at least for a few days, you're a
guest. So, get settled in. Tomorrow is rest day and we can start
bright and early the next. How's that?"

Lanniya looked relieved and brightened. "I'd really like that. I can
get to know a few more people too and maybe Y'gel can do what he needs
to." She looked over at Y'gel and smiled. "Are you going to go get
Briata?"

"No," Y'gel shook his head and wrinkled his nose. "Can't take both of
our HAD's away at the same time." He didn't really like the decision
but it was necessary if he was going to be here for the next few
months.

Cyradis brows came together as she looked up at the big Dragonhealer.
"Your weyrmate, right?"

"Yes, Ma'am," he nodded. "She helps when she can. We have a son."

She smiled, "And you foster N'vanik's daughter." Cyradis was better
informed then he might have known. "We're glad to have you here with
us and if you want us to make room for your family, just let me know."

Lanniya tucked her arm into Y'gel's, obviously comfortable with the
man. "I just don't want too much stress on you or anything." She
hugged his arm. "But I'm glad you're here too." She looked at Cyradis
and beamed. "Y'gel was one of the first riders I met. He helped
convince my grandparents to let me stay at the Weyr."

"Well in that case," Cyradis smiled back. "I'm very glad that such a
handsome bronze won your very first flight."

Aughashyth crooned and his eyes whirled happily. Y'gel smiled down at
Lanniya and patted her hand. "I hope you don't mind if I care for
Anaeryth when her time comes," her said hopefully.

"I'm sure I can make those arrangements," Cyradis smiled back.

"I wouldn't have it any other way." Lanniya affirmed.
