J'ackt stabbed at the piece of meat on his plate, full, but unwilling
to get up from the table. He kept his frown on his face as he poked at
the meat, trying not to think of anything in particular. Most of the
time, he enjoyed being left alone, but with his failed courtship of
Alina, he felt the bite of loneliness distinctly. He snorted to
himself and jabbed at the meat a little more viciously.
"Am I taking my life in my hands if I sit here?" Cosani arched an eyebrow.
J'ackt looked up at the familiar voice, the knife paused tip deep in
the chunk of meat. He hadn't spoken to Cosani in several sevendays;
he'd been too busy or distracted. He shook his head. "No." He set the
knife down and flicked his gaze over her. "You look good."
The corner of her mouth turned up. "That's a promising start." She
took a seat next to him, sliding her tray onto the table.
"Truth doesn't hurt." He shrugged and leaned his elbows on the table.
"You are looking good. Haven't talked to you in a while."
**How's that monogamy working out for you?** Cosani wanted to coax him
into bed, so best keep that to herself. "You seemed a little . ..busy."
J'ackt snorted and picked up his mug. It wasn't filled with klah or
his normal juice. The liquid inside foamed as he took a long drink. He
grimaced, swiping the foam away from his upper lip. "Yeah. You could
say that." His shoulder's rolled in a shrug as he leaned back. "You
been busy?"
Cosani shrugged. "Oh, this and that. But my life could use a bit of excitement."
"Threadfall isn't enough for you?" His reply was dry, but his lips
curled up slightly.
"Can't fight Thread all the time." She smirked and took a bite of her food.
"True." He took another sip from his mug and then tilted his head.
"What kind of excitement exactly are you wanting?" There was a hint of
mischief in his eyes as one brow rose.
Cosani had never been much for patience or subtlety, and she was just
about tapped out. "Well, I could use a few rounds with you in my bed."
Her bluntness made his face stretch into one of his rare full grins.
It had indeed been quite a while since they'd shared a bed and she was
a very...enthusiastic partner. "Oh. Just a few, huh?" He leaned over
towards her. "Then hurry up and eat. When you're done, we can start
the first one."
Ah, that was good news. She'd been worried holder ideas had gotten the
better of him, or that he was too mopey to have some fun. "The day's
looking up." Cosani dug into her meal.
"That's not the only thing." J'ackt replied, draining his own drink.
"Are you making innuendos at the dinner table? For shame."
He pointedly looked down. "No innuendo. Just stating fact."
She looked at him for a long moment, then slid over to climb into his
lap. Cosani tried not to crush his tender bits as she made herself
comfortable, picking up her fork again. "Mmm, this is a nice seat."
He grunted as she slid over his lap and went still for a moment,
breathing deeply. Her bottom was pressed in the perfect position to
tease, but not bring any sort of relief. J'ackt's eyes narrowed. Two
could play at this game. Under the table, his hand slid up her inner
thigh. "Is it?"
She gave him a look over her shoulder, her eyes half-lidded. "Are you
going to entertain me while I eat?" Shards, she'd missed playing with
him.
He tilted his head and slowly smiled, slipping his hand up further to
apply pressure, just enough to hint and tease, but only just.
"Hmmm...I'm just returning the favor. "
Cosani chewed a bite and swallowed before wiggling her hips just a
tiny bit. "As long as you don't make sudden moves. If I choke, it
won't be fun for anybody."
His soft grunt as she wiggled was barely audible, but he returned the
tease with his own tickling fingers. "Faranth forbid I keep you
from... swallowing." He did wait and when it was clear she had
swallowed her bite of food, struck back swiftly with his wandering
hand.
It was tempting to leave her meal half-finished and get him into bed
right now, but she was going to need the energy. And it was fun to
tease him. "Oh? Do you like watching me swallow?"
His smirk remained, but the mischief in his eyes increased. "Just as
much as you like watching me eat." He shifted slightly, trying to get
a bit more comfortable. "And we both know that I have a very good
appetite."
Cosani smiled around her next bite, wondering if J'ackt had gotten
more skilled since their last encounter. "Should we take wine and
snacks with us to keep our energy up between other meals?"
He had missed Cosani as a partner. She was eager, athletic, and had
very few inhibitions. And she'd never judged. "It would probably be a
very wise idea. You're going to be very full by morning." He glanced
up, the slowly rested his chin on her shoulder to whisper. "Is your
father over there watching us?" N'vanik could be very tolerant, but if
he knew that J'ackt was groping his daughter in the Dining Hall, he
wondered how long he would have before a Weyrleader boot found his way
up his arse.
She looked over with a little frown. N'vanik was doing that
looking-but-not-looking out of the corner of his eye. "Why? Does that
scare you?" This better not ruin her fun.
He arched a brow and lightly swatted under the table. "No. I'm willing
to take the risk."
"If he gives you crap about it you tell me and I'll go yell at him."
Cosani set her fork down and drained her cup. "Let's go."
He didn't need her to protect him, but he was certainly in the mood to
go. But...he held her still. "Give me a moment." He murmured,
struggling to tamp down on his very present and very visible problem.
"You've caused a bit of an issue, Cosani."
She could feel the issue against her bottom. Cosani slid all the
dishes off her tray. Lifting it off the table, she offered the tray to
him with a wicked grin. "Here you go."
His eyes narrowed. "You can't be serious. That's not obvious at all."
He snorted. "I'll walk." He gave her a little nudge. "Up."
She laughed as she stood, then offered the tray again. "Sure you don't
want to protect your modesty?"
With a scowl, he stood up, his situation rather obvious. Grabbing her
arm lightly, he started leading her out of the Dining Hall. "I swear
to Faranth, " he muttered, "you are going to be walking funny tomorrow
morning, Cosani."
"Promises, promises."
