Cosani

---
J'ackt paced his weyr, biting at his lower lip. It was more than
frustration that caused the irritability and inability to stay still,
though that too was an issue. It was the issue of Cosani and Alina.
**Zith, see if Shalith's is free? Ask if she would mind stopping in
after drills.**

The message relayed through her dragon was intriguing enough that
Cosani hurried, stopping for a quick wash before heading up to
J'ackt's weyr. "Does this mean you're healed enough for some fun?" The
idea of J'ackt wanting her so bad he couldn't wait was thrilling.

The moment she asked, his body replied immediately, springing up
happily to greet her presence after sevendays of woeful neglect. He
grunted, looking down, then back up. "You just had to ask, didn't you?
Yes, actually but that's not the _only_ reason I wanted to see you."
He paused. "Okay, maybe it's a huge part of why I wanted to see you,
but not all of it."

"Now I'm definitely curious. What is it?"

His eyes glinted as he grabbed her with his good arm and pulled her
close. Now that she was here, he was far more interested in action
before talking. "Furs first, talk later?" He slid his hand down her
spine. "Faranth, I've missed you. You're addictive, you know that?"

"That's good to hear." She pressed a hand to his crotch. "Good to
feel." Then she turned serious. "Are you sure you're okay to do this?
Normally I'd brag about sending a man to the infirmary, but not this
time."

Her touch brought a groan and an immediate response of him thrusting
his hips towards her hand. "I'm good." He swallowed hard. "You might
have to be on top, though." He gave a low, throaty chuckle. "Not that
you ever mind that." He lowered his mouth to hers and began walking
backwards towards his bed, pulling her with him. "Need you. Right
now."

Cosani stripped her shirt off and let it fall, then leaned up to kiss
him hungrily. She acted bold and self-assured around him, but the
truth was Cosani was a little in awe of J'ackt. He'd survived such a
rough life; he'd been a thief, and fought guards, and escaped jail.
Now he'd survived an attempted murder. And despite all that he wasn't
cold or cruel. He was passionate, willing to give as much as take, and
happy to learn ways to please her.

To have him so desperate for her made Cosani's whole body flush with
heat. "I'm gonna show you how happy I am you're alive."

She was always so willing, and her need always seemed to match his
own. His kisses became eager as she disrobed and his fingers tugged
at the laces of her trousers with increasing need before yanking them
down over her hips. "Then show me." His hands flew to his own,
shucking them off just as quickly while still trying to stroke her
soft, heated flesh. He fell back on the bed with just a bit of a grunt
at the pang in his shoulder, then dragged her after him.

The sight of his healing injuries was a bit of a shock. Cosani was
used to seeing Threadscoring of all kinds but this was a stark
reminder of how close J'ackt had come to being killed. She did her
best not to show it, straddling his waist and leaning over him. Her
hair brushed across his chest and face before she flicked it out of
the way and bent down for a kiss. "Do you want to use one of the bets
you won, or should we save that for when you're more... flexible?"

"Save it." As one hand stroked her back and hips, the other wove
fingers into her hair as he drew her down for another kiss. He was
growing more desperate to have her, especially with her hovering over
him so closely, but not close enough. "May be quick the first time,
but I'll make up for it later. " he warned. "Faranth, Cosani, you're
killing me here." He released her hair, both hands now urgently
finding breasts, hips, and thighs, kneading and caressing the soft
swells of flesh under his fingers.

"Don't hold back for my sake." Cosani shifted her hips. "Consider this a gift."

He didn't hold back, but clutched her to him. It was wild, frantic,
and without restraint, but as he rose to meet her, words fell
from his lips. "A fool to give this up. Never going to give this up."

When J'ackt had finished, Cosani flopped onto the bed on his good
side, avoiding his bad shoulder. "That was more enthusiastic than I
expected. Guess you really are getting better."

J'ackt rolled to face her, body still trembling from his release.
"Yeah. Faranth, I needed that. Thank you." He exhaled and tried to
catch his breath, but let his weaker hand stroke her side and hip.

"Needed it so bad you sent a message during drills," she said with amusement.

"Wanted it, needed it...had to have you. It's been too long." he slid
a hand up her side and exhaled with pleasure at the feeling of her
skin. "But, wasn't what I was thinking at first. Not completely. I had
two problems I needed your help with."

Her eyebrow quirked up. "Oh? What's the second one?" The first she'd
thoroughly solved... at least for the moment.

"The second...is Alina." He frowned, continuing to stroke Cosani's
side. He knew full well that it wasn't a great idea to speak about one
woman while in bed with another, but it involved Cosani intimately. "I
told her outright how I felt, but she's still holding back. I think
she's wanting the whole holder package; as close to marriage as she
can get." He propped his head up on his hand, resting on his elbow.
"But, I also told her that I wasn't going to stop seeing you. That I
wasn't going to give up time with you. It's not just the fantastic
sex, mind you. You're fun and you make me laugh. I can completely
relax around you...when you don't have any rope or scarves behind your
back." His lip curled up in a rueful smile. "If I could just have you
both, I'd be pretty flaming set."

A slew of emotions went through her and for a moment Cosani didn't
know where to start. "This isn't a hold, J'ackt. I know you have
feelings for her or whatever, but she shouldn't try to make you into
something you're not. You've changed a lot since you first came here
but you're still _you_. It was flaming frustrating when you tried to
play good holder boy for her." She pushed a strand of hair from her
eyes. It was hard for her to be vulnerable, but he'd almost died and
maybe it wouldn't be so bad to be a little honest. "I missed you. I
missed this." She pointed between them. "I... trust you more than I do
most people."

"And I missed you." He admitted, then nodded; he understood the lack
of ability to trust. He could count the people he completely trusted
on one hand. "She's not trying to make me do anything really. It was
my choice to try that and I was miserable. I'm not going to do it
again." He frowned, his hand settling on her hip. "If she cares about
me or she wants something with me, she's going to have to accept that
I'm not going to give you up. If she can't...then..." He exhaled and
looked at Cosani, "Well, I'm still not going to give you up. " He bent
and brushed his lips over hers briefly. "I really don't know what to
call what's between you and me. I just know I want to keep it."

Cosani let out a shaky breath. "I could use another friend. And in the
weyr that covers a lot of territory." Her best friend had gone North.
She'd lost R'enh to a goldrider in another weyr. Cosani spent time
with her wingmates and a few others, but it was hard for her to let
anyone close. It meant a lot that J'ackt thought she was so special.

"I think you're more than a friend. It's more than that, at least to
me." His lips quirked. "But I don't want there to be problems between
you and her. You're in the same wing. I'm hoping that she'll be
willing if it's you; maybe it'll have to be just you. And I think I
could handle that."

She wrinkled her nose. "You shouldn't have to limit yourself. And
_I'm_ not going to cause problems. As long as you have some time for
me, I don't care who else you're rolling in the furs with." She also
didn't want J'ackt to even consider that _she_ might limit herself.
Being special was nice, but she didn't want any man to have a claim on
her.

"I'll always have time for you." He frowned grimly at a thought. "But,
after what happened with Jerinne, I'm a bit more cautious about
sharing my bed, so limiting my partners doesn't sound like a bad idea
right now." He thrust the thought away in preference for continuing to
stroke her hip. "You gonna stay for a bit?"

"You gonna find something interesting to do with your mouth?" She
smiled, hoping they could move back into more familiar territory.

J'ackt chuckled softly and pressed a kiss to her brow. "Aye. I will.
After we bathe. Then, my mouth is all yours. I think I owe you a debt
anyway, don't I?"

"You absolutely do."
