Y'gel

Y'gel
Urlene

Urlene

Urlene giggled as she continued her story, her ears feeling warm as
she put down her glass. She'd had two small glasses of the liqueur and
was working on a third, enough to stop the trembling and enough to
lower her reserve, but not send her over the edge into drunkeness.
"And then...I couldn't help it. I flicked him. He acted as though I'd
stabbed him. But it made it go down. I mean every time he'd come in,
it would happen. But not after that!"

Y'gel slapped his knee laughing so hard he could hardly catch his
breath. "You flicked him?" He couldn't help himself and waved a hand
in the air helplessly. He didn't spend much time with human patients
these days but he could remember a greenrider who couldn't keep his
eyes in his head when Y'gel was younger. "Wish I'd thought of that,
but then it probably wouldn't go over as well for me." He could only
imagine the look on the man's face. "That takes guts," he shook his
head.

She nodded, wiping the corners of her eyes as she laughed along with
him. "It's the only thing I've found that works. If they're
distracted, then they're not listening to me." She finally exhaled,
then took a small sip of her glass, still smiling. "Probably not for
you! They might have enjoyed it. For a while, I thought it was a
challenge between the male Candidates to get to me. But it's eased up
finally."

"Well, there will be a new class soon enough," he grinned. "But I
think you're up to the task." He'd had a few glasses and was feeling a
nice buzz. He sat back in the chair, "You've created a great career
for yourself Urlene."

"Oh yes. More Candidates to talk about the 'cold fish'." Her lips
curled and a brow arched. "I'm sure you've heard that whispered around
the Weyr." She took another sip of her drink and sighed at the taste,
nodding. "I've done my best. It's been my only focus for turns." She
lifted her chin. "One day, Pacham will retire. I mean to be the one
that replaces him."

He blinked at the first part of her statement. "That's not exactly
what I heard," he said mildly. "It's more like you and the headwoman
have a thing going. Is that not true?"

She was in the process of sipping, but the moment his words filtered
and clicked her brain, she inhaled rather than drank. Choking for a
moment, she managed to take a breath, and stared at him, blinking
slowly. "What?" She stared a moment longer before laughter burst out
of her, nearly rocking herself out of her chair. "Chaysea? And Me?"
She shook her head and put down her glass, waving her hands at him.
"No no no no...We're friends! Faranth, the things men will come up
with!" She laughed, her cheeks heated and words spilled out of her
mouth. "I find men sexually attractive! I do like women too, but I like men
just as much!"

She took several breaths, trying to control the laughter, wiping at
more tears that leaked out of the corners of her eyes. "I just don't
want a man that's just interested in _this_." She gestured at her face
and then her body. "I have a mind." She pointed at him. "Like you, for
instance. You saw my brain first. Not my body. At least...that's how
you acted."

He shrugged with a tilt of his head. "I'm a bit older than most of
those men," he smiled. "I've learned a few things since I was twenty,"
he chuckled. "An intelligent woman is far more fun than a stupid one."

"Fun..." She finished her drink. "Yes, well, fun's been lacking for
the past sixteen turns." Determining that she might need water instead
of pouring herself yet another glass of the Little Bitters, she rose
from her seat, finding her legs just a little unsteady. "I can't
believe I told you all that." She laughed softly, still finding
amusement in the rumor. "I haven't told anyone that." She blinked at
the rush in her brain from the shift in position.

"Don't worry," he chuckled. "I'm not going to tell anyone. He watched
as she kind of tilted and one arm darted out to catch her.

"ACK!" The sudden appearance of his arm startled her and she stumbled,
falling directly into his lap. For some reason, she found the
situation absolutely hilarious and more laughter bubbled up out of
her. "Whoops!" Her sides hurt from from the evening's laughter; she
hadn't laughed so much in ages it seemed, and her muscles simply
weren't used to the exertion. "Sorry!" She looked up at him, then
burst out with more laughter, holding her sides. "Oh goodness...I
can't..." She tried to catch her breath, taking deep gulps of air as
she patted his chest. "No more drinks for me. I think I've found my
limit!"

"Then I'm done too," he grinned. "I'm surprised you're still able to
stand," he laughed with her. He set his own glass down on the table
firmly.

"Oh, please." She stated, chin lifted as another smile played about
her mouth. "I'm of the Blood, I was drinking wine with meals since I
was twelve." She studied his smile, tilting her head. "I'm not drunk,
I'm just...what's the word that some riders use...buzzed." She
blinked, now able to peer at him closely. "You've a very attractive
smile, you know." She would have never have spoken so boldly had the
majority of her inhibitions not been lowered. "And without your help,
I don't think I'd have gotten those knots for turns." Pacham would
_not_ have elevated her with his open reservations about her. "Thank
you." She leaned over, brushing her lips against his.

His dimples deepened with her words and the surprise of her kiss faded
as his arms went around her and he deepened it. You could blame the
drink or the powerful after effects of the work they'd performed
together, or just plain attraction. Though the latter had been far
more prevalent in his youth. He didn't bother to analyze it. A moment
later he released her with a gravelly "You're welcome."

When he pulled away, Urlene's eyes were half-closed and her lips
parted in a sensual appeal. The kiss had rocketed sensations down her
spine, sensations she'd not ever expected to feel. Tasting the flavor
of him on her bottom lip, she turned in his lap, straddling it to face
him. She pressed her lips against his again, wanting to feel those
sensations repeated. Her lips parted as she slid her hands in his hair
to hold him to her. She didn't care about anything else at that
moment, she just wanted more.

His body responded and began to press painfully against his trousers.
The entire situation was unexpected but not unwelcome. He growled deep
in his chest and thrust his tongue into her mouth. From her actions
alone he thought he knew what she wanted. He cupped her bottom and
stood to walk toward her bedroom. "Urlene," he pulled back for a
moment for one last attempt to let her say no.

His hands on her, the growl and the thrust of his tongue that was
answered immediately with her own was more than enough to make her
ache. Needs that had gone unanswered for turns reared up and demanded
to be satisfied. She wanted him, hoped that he'd be able to quiet that
ache; when he pulled away from her, Urlene was panting softly and
barely able to think past what she wanted. Surely this would be
pleasurable, Faranth, let this be pleasurable, or she'd explode with
ultimate frustration. She pressed her mouth to his urgently, hands
lifting to unpin her hair and let it fall down her back in thick
waves. She explored his mouth and rolled her hips towards him in
blatant appeal.

That was all it took. Y'gel carried her to her bed and covered her
with his body. He supported himself on his elbows to make sure not to
crush her. Their hunger spurred him on but he didn't rush. In the back
of his mind was her comment about sixteen turns. That was a very long
time for anyone to do without the pleasure of another human's touch.
He pushed up and began to pull his tunic over his head.

~Fade to Black~~

Utterly spent and dazed by the experience, she panted out mumbled
words, "What didya do to me? Faranth...never felt that before..."

"Maybe it was just time," he said, turning her in his
arms until he had her cradled against his shoulder. "I'm glad I got to
be here for it." He smiled and kissed her

She flopped more than rolled, her every muscle
feeling slack. Urlene returned the kiss and pressed her cheek against
his shoulder. "No...you don't understand. I've never..." she licked
her lips, "sharing my bed never felt good with m'husband." Her eyes
were hazy. "It's why I didn't for turns." She closed her eyes and
sighed, a silly smile growing on her face. "Oh...I'm glad too. That
was 'mazing."

"Hey," he said. He realized she didn't need sympathy. "I think your
husband wasn't doing it right. Not everyone is like that."

She laughed softly. "I realize that _now_." She sighed with replete
satisfaction, nuzzling his shoulder. As she stretched one long leg,
then the other, draping one over his leg. She snuggled close, getting
comfortable. "We'll have to do this again sometime."

He chuckled and hugged her. "I think that's a great idea. But just
don't flick me... okay?"

That brought another laugh that ended in a giggle that sounded
completely unlike the reserved lady that she normally presented
herself to be. "Oh no, I like that club of yours. Besides, I'd like
to have it again, so I don't want to hurt it." She opened one eye to
look up at him. "So, I'm incredible, huh?" She gave another silly
grin. "Good."

At the risk of a poke or unwanted flick he added... "And beautiful."

Both eyes opened to peer at him with a mock scowl and she gave a
gentle kick of her heel against his calf. "I know." She huffed, but
still remained cuddled against him. She knew that he saw more than
that in her, and that's what mattered. "And you're handsome." She
yawned. "And I'm sleepy."

He grinned "It has been a rather _large_ day," he agreed. "I should
probably go home so you can get some sleep," he said regretfully.

She sighed, but didn't move. "If you want." She didn't ask him to
stay, she wasn't used to sleeping beside someone, but he was warm and
comfortable. It didn't take more than a moment before she drifted off,
her cheek pressed against his shoulder and her leg still draped over
his own.

It had been a very big day for her in many ways. Y'gel stayed until
she finally rolled over on her own. then he disentangled himself from
her legs and dressed. Pulling covers over her he leaned in for one
more kiss on her hair. Then he left quietly.
