Characters: Dysali, D'ren
Description: Dysali and D'ren deal with Menanth's first lost Flight.
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 11, day 5 of Turn 3

Dysali was huddled in her Weyr. She'd seen the familiar bronze form streaking after Aletta's Farsith. Why had he not risen for her? Tears fell unnoticed, burning her cheeks.

}:Menanth flies well.. why are you sad?:{

The comment from Lillyth just made it worse. The young greenrider reminded herself ruthlessly that this was a Weyr. Menanth would chase
other greens. Sometimes he would win them.

The bitter pain welled up as she sat there, arms around her knees, staring through the rain for a vain glimpse of bronze.

Moments passed.

}:He loses. I will take you down there if you wish?:{

Lillyth did not understand, but she was willing to do whatever she
could
to help her rider. Dysali shook her head. He should come to her. She
had gone to him, after all.

**Bespeak Menanth, love, if he will hear you. Tell him I am waiting
for
his rider in my warm, dry Weyr.**

Menanth's voice broke through the haze in his rider's mind. }:Lillyth says hers is in her weyr. She will make you feel better.:{ Frustration colored
the
dragon's tone.

**Can you take me?** D'ren asked. He wanted to get to her as soon as possible.

}:Yes.:{ The bronze swept down into the bowl and landed beside his rider. **Next time, we'll win,** D'ren said as he climbed onto Menanth's neck. Wasting no time, the dragon lept skyward and was landing at Dysali's weyr soon after.

It was hard to think clearly. "Dysali," he said as he entered the weyr. The huskiness in his voice made it sound foreign to his ears.

She uncurled from the floor of her Weyr and went to him. Vague tearstains dotted her cheeks. Her curls were tumbled about her face
and
she was clad only in a loose robe. What if he hadn't come to her? He
had promised he would, but she could tell by looking at him and hearing his voice, that Flight lust was something he had been unprepared for - they never were, no matter the training.

She stopped her thoughts firmly, and instead just pulled him into her arms. The only words she said were, "I'm here."

Her touch and her voice increased his need for her. D'ren kissed her
deeply,
lifting her up and carrying her toward the bed. When they reached the
soft
covers, he climbed on top of her. Not bothering with his tunic, he
started
working at the fastenings of his pants.

Her robe fell open and off, baring all of her skin for his hands and
lips. She pulled him closer, her hands reaching up and around to
help him out of his own clothing. She knew he would have only one
thing on his mind for a while, and she didn't care. She encouraged
him with lips and her soft sighs of passion as her body started to
respond to his fervent demands.

D'ren found the release dragonlust had demanded of his body and slowly came back to full awareness. He knew he'd been more rough with her than he had been before. "Are you okay?" he asked gently, still regaining his breath.

Dysali was longer coming back to herself than her lover. She had gone far away so she could give him whatever he needed. His soft voice echoed for a moment, at odds with the rough passion and husky tones she'd been hearing. She had found that she rather liked this side of D'ren, and so when he questioned her, she opened her eyes and smiled up at him, her lips still a bit swollen from hastened love. "I'm fine, D'ren. Good, even... " She stretched against him, bringing her body
closer to his, caressing. "I'm glad you came to me."

"Me too." He ran a hand softly across her arm. "The dragonlust was . . . a little more than I expected." Even as he said it, he could feel desire building in him again. Not the overpowering sensation it had been before, but enough to know he didn't want to leave any time soon.

Dysali, with only one Flight behind her, was already familiar with that
secondary lust. She moved closer to him, one long leg slipping over
his hip to invite him against her. "Now that we know what to expect, D'ren, maybe we can plan to spend our after Flights together..." she
whispered, kissing his jawline lightly. "And of course.. " the kiss
turned to a nibble.. "..next time Lillyth Rises, Menanth should catch her. Then we'll really see what Flight lust is like.. "

Feeling his skin heat with contact against hers, D'ren moved still closer to her, enjoying the sensation. "I can't wait."

Her lips brushed against his neck and shoulder, and then she leaned back to smile up at him. "How about some practice, bronzerider?" She murmured softly, letting her hands caress him in a slow, deliberate
motion. This time they could make it last.

He smiled and bent to nibble at her ear. "Practice is always good."
