Description: Ayressa shares the exciting news with T'ner, and they make some decisions regarding the details of their relationship.
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 2, day 10 of Turn 10

Ayressa had not completely moved all of her things from her ground level weyr into T'ner's new weyr, but she felt comfortable enough there that she walked right in, patting Lehystrath on the flank as she did. "T'ner?" she called.

Lehystrath hummed happily to Ayressa and called to T'ner at the same time she did.

T'ner smiled from ear to ear when Lehystrath and Ayressa both called his name. He quickly put down Lehystrath's straps and hurried out to meet her.

"Hey, love," he said.

Ayressa threw her arm surround T'ner's neck. "I've got exciting news!"

"You've made Senior already?" T'ner asked, smiling as he hugged Ayressa close and kissed her.

"No, better," Ayressa breathed, pulling back a little so she could look up at his face. "I was Searched today, by a greenrider."

"Oh." T'ner's eyes widened with surprise. The thought of Ayressa flying Thread terrified him. "C-congratulations!" he said, forcing a smile. He hugged her again, but this time, there was more urgency to it. He was worried for her now.

Ayressa new her husband, now weyrmate, better than that. She looked up and studied his face. "This is good news, isn't it? I might have a dragon of my own."

"That is good news!" T'ner agreed. There would be no room for any misunderstanding over the relationship between a rider and a dragon if she were a rider, too. But. The danger. That was another thing entirely.

"I'm just... It's scary to think of you fighting Thread."

"Now you know how I feel when I think of you going out there," she said, wrapping her arms around his waist.

T'ner smiled softly and leaned in to rest his forehead against Ayressa's for a moment.

"I guess I do. A taste of it, anyway. Hmm, maybe you'll Impress gold, and we'll get a fancy weyr, eh?" T'ner chuckled. "I support whatever you want to do."

"Thank you, T'ner, and...." Ayressa took a deep breath. "And I support whatever you want to do. I mean, we're at the Weyr now, things are different. If I actually get lucky enough to Impress, well... Then I'll be a dragonrider, too, mating flights and all."

"That doesn't worry me," said T'ner. He smiled and kissed Ayressa's lips softly. "As long as you come home to me. Right?"

Ayressa smiled, equal parts nervous and excited at the thought of sleeping with someone who wasn't her weyrmate. The weyrfolk sure seemed to enjoy it. "That's right, and I feel the same way, T'ner. I don't care who else you're with, as long as you're home with me at night." She didn't want to completely abandon the love and family lines that they had created while they lived at Green Valley, but she also wanted the fluidity to discover herself and who she could really be now that they were at the Weyr.

T'ner nodded. And then it slowly dawned on him...

"I-is that... Does that go for... I mean... It wouldn't be fair for me to... while you're on restrictions, but, uh..."

He suddenly wished he had kept his mouth shut. But the chance to be with F'aen again...

Ayressa lifted a finger and placed it against his lips to silence him. "I meant it. As long as you're home with me in the evenings, I don't need to know.... As long as that understanding goes both ways for us?" There was no one that Ayressa desired to be with other than T'ner, but if that were to arise, she wanted the same freedom to explore that she was giving him.

T'ner smiled. What did he ever do to deserve someone so perfect?

"Slag, but I love you," he breathed with a chuckle. "As long as you're home with me in the evenings, I don't need to know," he agreed and kissed her nose.

"Good, now," she pressed herself up against him. "Take me to bed, we won't have much longer to do this if I Impress." Ayressa's eyes gleam mischievously.

"Then we'd better make the most of every day from till you do," T'ner answered, grinning back as he picked Ayressa up and carried her to the bed.
