Description: Aviday's Kobeth rises for the first time
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 6, day 28 of Turn 10
Kobeth's scream of intent startled Aviday, making her slop a breakfast
of egg down her front. Her eyes widened at the sudden surge of emotion
and she almost choke on the food that she already had in her mouth.
She felt eyes turning towards her as she hurriedly swallowed down her
food, wiping her mouth quickly. She felt her face flush and then heard
a squeal of excitement from another table.
It was her mama and she was rushing over. Aviday rose, moving to avoid
the excited woman, but it didn't work. "Oh! It's so exciting! It's
your Kobeth isn't it? I knew it would happen soon!" Daturna wasn't
being quiet, and was drawing more attention than Aviday would have
wanted.
"Mama...I know... but..." Aviday pulled away, trying to make her way
to the flight rooms, but found that she was being followed. "MAMA!"
Daturna waved her hand at her daughter's objections. "I'm _so_ excited
for you! Come on, you'll _love_ it, I know you will."
**The day couldn't be worse**, Aviday thought as she cringed from
embarrassment and noticed several men chuckling as they rose to began
making their way towards the flight rooms. She hadn't gotten herself
ready like she had been lectured. Maybe it wouldn't be too bad, but if
she could just get her mother away...but as she hurried, Daturna
followed to take her place among the flight moths that were gathering.
**Faranth, Mama, couldn't you just skip mine?**
As she took her place, the men surrounding her felt like they were
looming large over her. Who would it be? Kobeth snarled as latched
onto a buck and Aviday closed her eyes, surrendering to the sensation
and giving herself over to it.
Marlath glided down towards the feeding grounds, feeling the energy and
anticipation crackling through his nerves as he watched the green
intently. The young brown pushed his way eagerly into the crowd of older
males, waiting for the moment when she'd take to the air. He sensed his
rider's mind, tense but excited, and let his confidence fill their
mental bond. }:This time!:{
R'fal responded with encouragement, though he felt a little nervous as
he joined the other men surrounding the greenrider. Now his spirits had
lifted, Marlath had begun to chase more and more often, and he still
hadn't got used to how that sudden, dizzying rush of sensation from his
lifemate could hit at any moment. He couldn't help wondering how it
would feel, if they won...
**Yikes,** was the first word in R'nar's mind as he filed into the
flight room and caught sight of Aviday. The fact that Aviday was the
only friend Ranni had at Dolphin Cove, was very present in the
bronzerider's mind as he crossed his arms over his chest. He exhaled
slowly as his mind began to meld with Iorath's, and soon all tension
fled from his body as he fully embraced the lust-filled side of his
dragon partner.
After the first rush of flight lust L'cor put down the schedule he'd
been working on and rolled up the hide before trotting out into the
sunshine. He noted who the greenrider was, and a small shiver of dread
ran down his spine. If she hadn't found someone ahead of time... He
forced a smile and nod and began to merge with his lifemate.
Kobeth finished the buck with a vicious shake of her head, eyed the
male dragons surrounding her and then leaped into the air with a
taunting cry. With quick sweeps of her wings, she rose into the sky,
darting instinctively towards the sun. The warmth of the sun's early
morning rays heated her already raging blood and she dipped in the
pure joy of uncontained flight. She was wild, untamed and completely
free of the tiny people on the ground. She was more than them now! She
was desirable!
Aviday swayed at the sudden swirl of emotions, gasping as she felt the
heat of the son and of Kobeth's desires. She surrendered entirely to
the joy of the flight, trying to ignore the tiny niggle of warning and
caution deep within her mind. It was all so new, all so fresh, that
the worries were pushed aside. She was desirable!
Iorath had waited, talons grinding against the stone of his ledge
impatiently, until Kobeth finally finished feeding and took to the
sky. Flinging himself from his ledge, the bronze jockeyed for
position, easily edging out a smaller blue. Shuttering a couple of his
eyelids, the bronze followed Kobeth confidently into the sunlight.
Another bronze entered the chase with the others. He stayed in the
middle of the pack knowing the green would have to wear herself out
before he had a chance of grabbing her. She could dart past him faster
than his big wings could change direction, but Tonuth also knew he
could stay in the air far longer than she could. His time would come.
Marlath, young and agile, surged forward, his spirits high as he focused
on the green, the enticing flicker of her tail and her sinuous body. He
had begun to learn that a green could twist and weave in the air, easily
eluding his grasp, but temptation and desire were hard to resist and he
revelled in his strength and the power of his wingbeats and the thrill
of the chase.
Kobeth looked behind her and crooned with pleasure. There were bronzes
and browns chasing her, all fine males, but _so_ slow. She gave a
draconic chortle and suddenly dove, delighting in the scramble of
bodies and efforts to correct themselves that she had caused. She
dipped and then flew even higher after the dive, twisting and turning
in the air to delight in unfettered freedom.
Aviday shivered and dipped her body in time with Kobeth, moving
between the men in the flight room but not allowing them close enough
to touch her. She felt free and unrestrained, eyes hazy with growing
lust and need.
Tonuth made a wide arc up into the clouds on the chance she'd come out
into the sun. He'd flown in enough greenflights to know she'd be
getting tired just about now and would make one last bid for teasing
her suitors.
Iorath edged ahead of a smaller, faster brown, flying at a lower
altitude than Kobeth, but parallel to her flight path, hoping that this
time when she dove he would be there to catch her.
As the bigger bronzes peeled off, Marlath bugled in delight, not yet
having the wiles and experience to know they were anticipating the
green's next move. He put on a burst of speed, pushing ahead of a nearby
blue towards the front of the pack.
Kobeth was getting tired. Her wings strained, but she didn't want to
stop; she wanted to keep flying. But the handsome males chasing her
were also enticing, and she couldn't help but slowing to look at them
more closely. She noticed two that had moved away from the rest, one
higher, one lower and flicked her tongue at them, before backwinging,
flipping and darting the other way. She prepared to split the other
group of chasing males, intent on giving them one
last burst of a chase, but right as she slid past Marlath, her wing
tangled with the much larger brown. It had been a pure accident, she
hadn't meant to be caught, but as she was suddenly gripped, and felt a
larger neck twine with hers, she didn't care.
After a trickle of fear flickered through her mind Aviday gasped, arms
reaching outwards at the sudden, unfamiliar aching rush of need. She
felt arms scoop her up and like her dragon, all other cares ceased.
The wave of his dragon's lust swept through R'fal like nothing he'd
experienced before, so he could hardly tell whether he was in the sky
with his young brown, his body entwined with the green, or on the ground
with her rider pressed close to him, their lips meeting in a burning
kiss. As the other riders melted away, disappointed, he managed to
remember enough of what he'd learned to stumble towards the flight room
and then inside before Marlath's emotions overtook him completely and he
only knew desire for the small, slender greenrider in his arms.
