The feast was still in full swing when Cirina excused herself, scrounging up a tray and loading it up with feast treats before heading towards the Infirmary. Surely the healers would have fed the injured weyrlings, but she had a hunch it hadn't included any of the desserts. And in any case, she wasn't really feeling celebratory tonight; it was a good excuse to get away from the party. She delivered a selection to O'rosin before moving on.
Digger found V'tian first, the brown firelizard landing on his bed and letting out a trill that Cirina followed. "Hey, Vy- V'tian. You up for a visit? I brought some snacks from the feast."
"... Cirina. Hi." V'tian greeted, taken a little by surprise-- but he wasn't hurting right now, and Indith had been fed and was asleep. He was as alone right now as he was going to be, and he could still _feel_ the little green, a soundly sleeping presence.
His own voice lowered, he spoke again. ".. Yeah. We can visit, at least a little. Just... try not to wake up... her. Indith."
Cirina obligingly lowered her voice, but she said, "From what I've heard, baby dragons can sleep through anything. I could come in singing with drums and she'd keep snoozing. I just checked in on Obrosin - this was certainly an exciting hatching." She heard a bit of bitterness in her own tone, and forced herself to add with more cheer, "Hungry? I assume they fed you, but probably not the best stuff." She set a half full tray next to his bed.
"... Still." V'tian responded, and shook his head, faltered. "It... It's... odd. At least if she's asleep, she's... not digging." He added. "She should stay asleep. For now."
"Digging?" Cirina cocked her head to the side curiously, "what do you mean?"
Digger also chirped questioningly, though that was likely just a habit at hearing something like his name.
"It's.... Weird." V'tian responded. "Like... She made a place for herself, in my head. She wants everything I know. Even though she's asleep now I can... I can feel her. She's... there."
He shook his head. "... It's fine. Thank you for bringing me dessert things."
"Oh. That's... I don't know. If you don't feel better tomorrow, you should talk to the weyrling staff. I'm sure they've seen everything. But you'll probably also feel better after some sleep and a good meal. Try the pudding," Cirina suggested, though she sounded uncertain.
"... You're probably right." V'tian admitted. "... Thank you, by the way. For bringing the food. I wasn't... And thank you for coming to see me, too."
"Oh, you're welcome," Cirina said, "I figured there was no reason you all should miss out on your hatching feast. I'd be so mad if I had to spend mine in the Infirmary."
"It's.... not great." V'tian agrees. with another sigh. "But I'm not stuck here forever, at least. And... maybe you can come back, sometimes? Tell me all the best Candidate gossip?"
"Sure," Cirina said, with more confidence than she felt. "But for now I'll let you get some rest."
