}:Skadith. Skadith. Play with me,:{ It was class time. And class time was boring.
**No! You have to tell me what the instructor is saying!** B'lyse insisted.
}:Uggggh, but I'm so bored!:{
**Please, I need your help. There's only a few more minutes of lecture.**
}:Ohhhhh, fine! Skadith, I have to tell B'lyse what the instructor is saying for now" play a game with me after class. Will you? Oh, and Sojanth, too, yes?:{
Sojanth was curled under L’fael’s seat, her eyes whirling an angry red. Every sharding dragon in the Weyr seemed to want to speak to her lifemate, did they not know he was hers! Hers and no one else’s. Honestly, what was wrong with everyone?? She was so angry she even gave off a huff every now and again. So when Azureth spoke to her and not to L’fael she about fell over in shock. }:What did you say? Play?:{ Oh, the idea of playing sounded so fun! Instantly she jumped up, ready to do anything but jealously stand guard over her lifemate.
Skadith looked over at them quizzically, not yet making any movements to get up. He _did_ want to play, but it was impossible to make any decisions either way just yet. He rumbled in acknowledgment and asked curiously, }: Why does your rider need help? Is he injured? And what sort of game? :{
}:Well, yes,:{ said Azureth. }:His arm is very clearly broken and suspended in some kind of healer contraption.:{
The other blue snorted in response, studying Azureth's rider. }: But how does telling yours what Kularth's says help his arm? :{
}:I... do not know. You would have to ask him.:{ To Azureth, that was a perfectly good answer, and it never occurred to him that he should ask himself.
}:You’re not making any sense, we wouldn’t want to ask him because only_mine_can talk to others. So how else are you helping him?:{ Really, these boys make no sense, Sojanth huffed to herself.
L’fael reached behind the chair to touch her face. **Whats up?** She was very chatty today, and he was getting distracted.
Skadith was not enthused at the suggestion, nor was he about to ask anyone else's rider anything if he could help it-- this was between Azureth and his rider, surely. }: No, but perhaps you ought to be the one who asks him. :{
}: I don't have to do _that_ for R'fayne. He does it himself, or... it happens for him. He... hears... :{ Not entirely sure what to make of the exchange, Skadith nudged a familiar elbow.
}: Sojanth and Azureth want to play after class. I think. :{
R'fayne didn't hear, not immediately. He hadn't been listening to the half-conversation and looked casually toward L'fael and B'lyse. **Maybe. We'll see. Though don't count on _playing_ with Sojanth.**
}:B'lyse? Why does your arm stop you from hearing the instructor?:{ asked Azureth.
**What? It doesn't. It's just the way I am, all right? Don't tell anyone.**
}:Oh. Very well, I will not tell anyone.:{ Azureth returned to repeating the instructor, who was at last dismissing the class.
}:We can play now!:{ Azureth declared.
Skadith shook his huge wings neatly into place and bounded toward Azureth, }: Okay! How about tag? :{
"_Outside_." R'fayne called sternly. He preferred his evenings to be his own and not in the idle hands of R'lor or J'lor's mercy, and certainly not over silly dragon antics. His expression said as much as he rolled his eyes at B'lyse and headed to the door. "At least they made it through class."
B'lyse was not entirely sure whether R'fayne's annoyance was with him or the dragons... Now that Azureth had run off to play with the others, he could not rely on his ears anymore. ... Well. His hearing. He supposed dragons did not exactly have ears in the same way humans did.
"Yeah." Agreeing was usually safe.
}:I love tag! Alright, how about this.:{ Azureth also liked making up new rules. }:I'll try to tag Sojanth. Sojanth, you try to tag Skadith. And Skadith, you try to tag me. If you get a tag, you have to run back to... here before you can tag again.:{ He drew a mark in the dirt with his claws. }:First one to ten tags wins!:{
L’fael slowly gathered up his books as Sojanth bolted out to play with the others. Normally he’d be out here too, loving just watching his beautiful green run about but today he had his mind on what the three dragons had been talking about. So why couldn’t B’lyse Hear the instructor? Had he damaged something besides his arm in the Hatching? Or was he deaf? Not that it was any of his business. But poor B’lyse, if that was true. He thoughtfully gathered up his things and trailed the other weyrlings out of the room.
"Oof. S-sorry!"
B'lyse had not meant to bump into L'fael on his way out after Azureth, but he had been in such a hurry, he had forgotten to be careful about watching.
"A-are you all right?"
“I’m fine.” Curious, L’fael deliberately spoke as he turned away so B’lyse couldn’t see his mouth. It was kind of cruel, but he_was_curious.
"O-oh." B'lyse's face fell. True, he could not tell what L'fael had said, but his turning away read more to him like he was shunning him than he was performing a communication experiment.
**I think maybe L'fael is angry at me,** he said to Azureth.
}:Can't talk! You're gonna get me tagged!:{
L’fael could feel the rejection in B’lyse’s voice and could see it in his posture. Oh shells, he hadn’t meant to do that! Turning back, he held out a hand. “Are you okay? You didn’t lose anything, did you?”
"Oh! Um... Yes, I'm all right." B'lyse shook L'fael's hand. "I wasn't watching where I was going."
**What did he say?**
}:I don't know, I'm busy! Ach! I got tagged!:{
Sojanth had forgotten who she was supposed to be chasing and had decided to pounce on top of the blue. }:Got you!:{
L’fael blinked at B’lyse. Maybe he could hear since he answered that perfectly well. Served him right in being nosy. “I think your blue has just been ‘tagged’ by my green.”
"Yes, that's right," he said. "I'm Blue. Well, B'lyse now."
}:Sojanth tagged me!:{ Azureth whined to his rider.
**So?**
}:I'm supposed to tag her!:{
**Just play and have fun, Az; you don't have to make up complicated rules.**
}:But rules _are_ fun!:{
"Heh." B'lyse ran a hand through his hair and gave an apologetic wince. "Sorry. Azureth thinks a game has to be convoluted to be worth playing."
“Oh, it’s okay, Sojanth will beat that out of him pretty quick.” Indeed the small green was looking pretty triumphant against the larger blue. L’fael felt bad for him.
}:All right, all right,:{ said Azureth to the other two. }:Everyone tag Sojanth!:{
"She likes to win it fast?" asked B'lyse.
"I think she just likes to win." L'fael winced as his tiny green more than held her own against the two larger clutch mates, preceding to turn the tables on both blues and managing to pounce on both of them. "I know they said greens were fast, but...ouch."
"Are you all right?" B'lyse glanced around and then at the dragons to be sure they were all unharmed as well. "Oh! Ouch," he agreed, though Azureth was having a blast" despite the eschewing of his rules.
“Ah well, gives us more time to study, eh?”
