Almost Enough

Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 12, day 8 of Turn 3

Dyaera whimpered a little as she rolled onto her side. "Next time I see that stupid boy, I'm going to punch him. In the nose. How can a dragonrider be so sharding _terrible_ at sex?"

He had been so worried about her when he realized it was Tilarth that was rising. The bluerider had become very aware of just how uncontrolled flights could be, and with her body still recovering from the scoring... His frustration at not catching her, at knowing another man was sharing her bed, was over-ridden by his fear that she would be hurt. When Aosorath passed along the message that Dyaera wanted to see him as soon as possible, D'cal had immediately left the man who had helped him with his own flight lust and took the stairs to Dyaera's Weyr two at a time.

"Are you all right?" D'cal asked, gently wiping the hair back from her face.
"Did he... did he hurt you?"

"No..." Dyaera scowled. "Well, yes, but not on purpose. He was just...
really sharding clumsy. And he couldn't take a hint afterwards."

"I'm sorry love," the bluerider said soothingly as he stroked her cheek with the back of his fingers. "I wish it could have been better for you."

Dyaera gave him a pathetic look. "Could you rub my back? I think I pulled a muscle." "Sure." He kicked off his boots and carefully crawled over her. "Where does it hurt?"

"My lower back," she replied, glancing over her shoulder at him. "It's not my threadscore... if it were, I would have gone to the healers."

"Well, yes, scars are different from muscles, and you said it was a pulled muscle, right? You know this would be easier if you turned over onto your stomach for me." She obeyed, stretching out and pillowing her head on her arms. "It feels like one. I don't know... I suppose if it doesn't go away, I'll tell the healers when I see them again." D'cal nodded as he stretched out beside her, propping his head up on one hand as his other began gently kneading the small of her back. "Did... did you know him?"

"I'd seen him around, but I'd never really talked to him before," Dyaera replied, her voice muffled by her arms. "He'd better hope I don't see him again any time soon, though. What an obnoxious idiot."

The made D'cal smile a bit. It was easier knowing she didn't like the man.
He leaned down and kissed her bare shoulder softly. "Well, I'm sure he got the hint in the end."

"Mmmm..." Her eyes drifted shut. "I told him I'd break his fingers if he touched me again."

He laughed outright at that. "I hope he believed you." Having her so close, so naked, and so soon after the flight was making getting distracted from massaging her back rather easy.

His touch was everything that the silly brownrider's touch hadn't been...
soft and enticing and sending little shivers up her spine that made the pain fade. "Mmmm..." she said again, arching a little into his touch. His fingers continued to tease as he looked down at her. Shards he hoped he could have been the one... "Well, maybe next time Aosorath will have enough experience to catch Tilarth." Of course, it was completely up to the green, but he still hoped one day...

"D'cal?" Dyaera asked in a faint voice, "I don't suppose you're feeling creative, are you? Because I have no idea how much I can move, but if you don't stop that, I'm going to find out. Maybe you could just... figure out something?" "Oh," the bluerider said, surprised at how easily she suggested it. He wasn't so long in the Weyr that her boldness still didn't provoke a bit of a blush. "I think I can do that." D'cal smiled despite himself as he leaned down to kiss along her spine between her shoulder blades. He was still feeling a bit of the after affects of the dragonlust after all, and perhaps she was too. They might not have been able to share the actual flight with each other, but knowing she wanted to share this much with him was almost enough.
