Everything was hazy but Saedyna felt _wonderful_ and she floated in
that sated, lovely feeling for a moment until she remembered . . .
Avarith had risen. That meant that she . . .

Saedyna's stomach clenched and she considered keeping her eyes shut
and waiting until whoever it was went away, but curiosity got the
better of her. She turned and was startled to see who was in bed with
her. "T-Tirraze?"

"Hey, you." Tirraze could not get rid of her goofy smile. No amount of
occasional mothing or gold lust could have prepared her for that. That
was... something else. "Are you all right?"

The smile made Saedyna feel warm and she was surprised at how good she
felt. "A little sore, I think, but . . . you're a woman. How . . .?"
She looked down and saw leather straps around Tirraze's waist, and
sticking out of it was . . ."Oh. _Oh_." That had been . . . Tirraze
had . . . Saedyna's face flushed hot.

Tirraze loosened the straps and breathed a sigh of relief.

"I wasn't a hundred percent sure it was going to work," she laughed.
"And we were almost late getting there. I'm glad I practiced putting
it on. It's a little... harder than the real thing, I know. I hope the
soreness isn't too much. Next time, I could just go without it and see
what we do if you like."

Next time. The thought of it made Saedyna blush even more. She
desperately wanted to touch Tirraze. She wanted next time to be _now_,
and that confused her. Was it the flight lust? She started to reach
out and paused. In the Weyr she'd learned about consent. "Can I touch
you?" she asked shyly.

"Any time you like." Tirraze leaned down and kissed Saedyna. Her
blushing was adorable.

Saedyna let out a soft, surprised gasp and froze. But only for a
moment. In the next breath she was kissing Tirraze back, one hand
reaching up to grip the back of her head. Oh. Oh. Kissing was _good_.
Kissing was _wonderful_.

}:I am very glad I chose Riamorth. Now we are both happy,:{ Avarith said.

Riamorth lolled out his tongue and snuggled into Avarith.

Tirraze kissed back for only a little while before she paused and
asked breathily,

"You want me to tighten the harness back or take it off?"

Saedyna was hot all over, her mind spinning. C'rand and B'lyse had
been kind to her and it had felt good, in the end. But the idea of
_Tirraze_ doing that to her. . . "Yes," she breathed, and then
realized she actually had to tell Tirraze which choice she wanted.
"Tighten the harness," she said. "I can't believe this is happening.
I'm so confused, but it feels so _good_." Her shy fingers brushed
against Tirraze's breast.

"We can be confused later." Tirraze straddled Saedyna and re-tightened
her harness.

The sight of Tirraze on top of her made Saedyna's body tighten with
need. Feeling a little daring, she slid her hands up Tirraze's thighs.
"I didn't know it could feel like this."

"I had an inkling." Tirraze grinned, gently positioned her equipment,
and leaned down to kiss Saedyna. "But it's even better than I
imagined."

Saedyna kissed her back, her hips arching up. She'd never wanted sex
before but now she was _hungry_.

}:I did not want to mate until I did,:{ Avarith said.

Another while later, Tirraze rolled onto her back beside Saedyna,
utterly spent and out of breath. She unfastened her straps and set
them aside, then put her arm over Saedya and snuggled in close.

"You good?"

"So good." Saedyna's mind was spinning. "Is it the flight that makes
it feel this good?" And yet she remembered that surge of relief and
desire when she saw Tirraze among the circle of riders.

"I don't know." For Tirraze, it was better with Saedyna than it had
been with her 'practice partner'. But she could not speak for Saedyna.
"I guess we'll just have to try again later to be sure." She grinned
and pecked Saedyna's cheek.

Again. They could do this again. Saedyna's face heated, her heart
beating fast. "You want to?"

"Definitely! Why, don't you?" Tirraze chuckled, but she was a little
worried that she had gone too far again.

"I do." Saedyna stared at her lips for a moment and then kissed her.
Faranth, it felt so good. She ran her fingers through Tirraze's short
hair. "I really like your hair."

"Yours is pretty cute, too." Tirraze wondered why she had never
decided to cut all her hair off before. But a part of her also
wondered whether she would have liked it before. Whether Riamorth had
changed something inside her, or whether he had just awakened her to
what was already there, just sleeping.

The compliment sent Saedyna's stomach fluttering. "I was so scared of
mating flights." Her hand drifted down to cup Tirraze's cheek. "I'm so
glad it was you."

}:I will choose Riamorth always, if that is what you want,:{ Avarith
said. }:I do not want you to be hurt or scared or sad.:{

The love and protectiveness of her dragon made Saedyna's throat tight.
}:I love you so much, Avarith.:{

"I'm glad I could be your safe place." Tirraze put her hand over Saedyna's.

Saedyna let out a soft gasp. The flutter was in her chest now.
"Tirraze, I . . ." What, though? She didn't know what she was feeling,
much less what to say. So she kissed Tirraze again.

Tirraze sighed happily and returned the kiss. When at last it ended,
she said, "Me, too."
