T'lin

T'lin

The more he thought about it, the more irritated V'tian became. Maybe it was the fact that he hadn't known any of this before Chandrany came to him. Maybe it was the fact that _two_ greens had risen, and one of them had stolen away the male who'd been flirting with Indith just a little bit ago. Or maybe it was the weather.

**Ask Calaroth if his rider is free.**

Indith passed the message on dutifully, adding, }:Yuliuth's has made him mad.:{

T'lin arrived quickly. "He didn't hurt you, did he?" He looked V'tian over, searching for any signs of injury.

V'tian looked up as T'lin entered. "I'm _fine_." He muttered, though his expression and body language suggested otherwise.

A slow exhale. "He didn't touch me, T'lin." He added, if a little bit stiffly. "I just... I found some stuff out, and Indith's irritated cause some stupid blue ditched her, and the weather _sucks_."

Indith hissed grumpily, and Radiance and Sky echoed her.

T'lin relaxed a little. "Would you like a hug?" He opened his arms.

V'tian hesitated a moment. He was fine. He was _fine_.

... He wasn’t fine.

The greenrider nodded, and stepped into the embrace. "I just... I hate feeling _stupid_." He mumbled. "And I know it's even _more_ stupid, but."

Out on her ledge, Indith hissed again, and Radiance growled counterpoint.

"You're not stupid." T'lin rubbed his back. "This is your first relationship. It can be confusing and overwhelming."

**Maybe Indith would like some company?**

Calaroth perked up. }:Lovely Indith, could I curl up with you?:{

"So what did you find out?" T'lin asked gently.

}:Are _you_ going to fly off after the next green who flicks her wings at you?:{ Indith groused, but after a moment she shifted over on her ledge. }:Yours is here already... you may come over.:{ she told Calaroth. }:I should like to be admired.:{ she added.

V'tian finally took a step back, if reluctantly, and definitely _didn't_ quickly run a sleeve over his face. "You're going to think it's _stupid_." He muttered. "_I_ think it's stupid. I... I _know_ dragonriders don't really do exclusive. I do. Indith alone makes that kind of impossible for me anyway. But I didn't even _know_."

Calaroth glided through the rain and shook off as much as he could before joining Indith, curling around the green. }:I flew you well, didn't I?:{ He sent images of them twining in the sky, the pleasure of their mating. }:You are easy to admire, Indith. Beautiful and smart and strong.:{ His nose rubbed gently along her neck.

"C'pier has another lover," T'lin guessed. Then he sighed. "I _really_ hate to defend him, but you're right. That's not unusual in the weyr. But if you were getting serious, he really should have told you."

Indith greeted him with a quiet croon, and returned the nuzzle, shifting so that her shoulder rested against Calaroth's. }:Mine is feeling a lot.:{ she told the blue. }:Yours will help him?:{

"I _wanted_ it to be getting serious." V'tian muttered, shoulders slumped. "I... I kind of asked him about it, a bit ago. Hinted that maybe I'd want more." He breathed out shakily. "When he brushed me off, I thought maybe I'd try again, later." He added. "And I _know_ that Weyrs don't really do exclusive, but he never said a _word_, and I thought... I thought _maybe_."

He scowled. "Maybe I wouldn't even have _cared_, if he'd just _told_ me. But no. I had to find out from Chandrany herself. Who's one of my _friends_, by the way, who came over mad at _me_ because apparently he only just told _her_!!"

He stopped, and very definitively did not wipe his sleeve over his eyes again.

}:Mine is good at feelings,:{ Calaroth told the green.

"C'pier has a history of lying, and about worse things than this," T'lin said darkly. Then his tone grew softer. "I liked being your first, and I like sharing flights with you. I'd be happy to have sex outside that, if you wanted. But my feelings for you aren't romantic, and I have a weyrmate. See? It's not that hard to be clear about things." He wiped a trail of moisture from V'tian's cheek.

V'tian tilted his face into the touch, just for a moment, before he let out a long sigh. "I... haven't been able to stop thinking about it." He confessed quietly. "I.... I think... I think I might stop inviting C'pier around."

Another shuddering breath, and then V;tian added, "I... I wouldn't ask you to leave your weyrmate. Ever. But... Calaroth can keep chasing Indith, and.... and maybe warn Yuliuth off." he continued. "I... I wouldn't mind seeing you more. I... You don't have to feel romantic, but... we are friends, right?"

Indith rustled her wings, leaned against Calaroth a little. }:Of course we are friends.:{

"Of course we are," T'lin said, not knowing he was echoing Indith. He leaned up to kiss V'tian's forehead. "You should tell C'pier to go to the Red Star. You deserve a man who's going to sweep you off you feet and make you feel special."

V'tian sniffed, one last time, and then tried a shaky smile. "I keep hoping for one of those." He tried to joke, but it fell sort of flat. "And... and maybe I will. Tell him to... to find other greens to chase, at least."

Indith crooned softly, and nuzzled Calaroth, slid her muzzle along his neck gently. }:_You_ will always be welcome on my ledge.:{ the green assured, still a little irritated but calming rapidly now that Hers was feeling better.

}:I am honored.:{ Calaroth draped a wing over the green.

"Good." Then T'lin smiled as he focused on his dragon for a moment. "They're still flirting, even though he just caught her." He put a hand on V'tian's shoulder, not sure how much was Calaroth's influence and how much was his own feeling. "Would you like me to stay tonight?"

"She... she likes him." V'tian murmured. "I think she’s pleased. And... yeah. Stay over tonight. If you want to?"

Sky chirruped quietly, watching, and Radiance flew a lap of V'tian's weyr to croon a greeting out to Calaroth before returning to her favoured perch.

"I do," T'lin said. "We can talk, or cuddle, or do something more, if you like." He wanted to make V'tian feel good, in whatever way he could.

V'tian took another slow breath. "I... I don't feel like going to the Dining Hall anyway." He muttered. "I... Maybe cuddle? I... I just want to feel better."

T'lin gave him a quick hug. "How about I go get us some food, and we can eat up here? And then I'll hold you."

V'tian hugged him back again, before letting go. "... That sounds good." He said quietly. "Maybe just some bread for me, though. And... and a meatroll for Radiance and Sky to share."

The bluerider nodded. "I'll be back soon." He was glad V'tian had agreed to let him stay. T'lin would have hated to leave him alone like this.
