Almonteo

Almonteo

Dirwol took a breath as he reached up to knock on the door. He had decided that he needed to talk to Almonteo again. He quietly waited for it to be answered.

The Hallmaster called out for him to come in and smiled at the familiar face. "Journeyman Dirwol, isn't it?"

"Yes sir." He gave the Master Harper a smile. "I came to ask you permission on something." He said carefully. "All right," the Hallmaster nodded.

"Well sir, I don't believe I will be standing again, but I'd like to stay on at the Weyr. I find this place fascinating and would like to explore the possibilities here. I enjoy working with the children here." There, he had asked. "So, you wish to quit the Hall and become a Weyr based Harper?" Almonteo asked, not as an accusation but a clarification.

Dirwol took a breath. "Yes sir." He answered honestly.

"Well, seeing as you are a candidate officially, I should think that it is appropriate for you to make the switch."

"Thank you sir. I would also like to offer my services for turns end if you need them. I'm pretty good in ensembles and such." He offered.

"Oh, indeed we will need your services," Almonteo nodded. "We will have a Weyr Harper ensemble I should hope. I will discuss it with the Weyrharper soon, and I'm sure he'll be able to give you more information in a few days."

"Thank you sir." Dirwol stood and bowed respectfully, "I look forward to assisting in any way that a can. If there is anything you need of me please call on me."

"Thank you, journeyman," the Hallmaster smiled. "I think you found yourself a home here at the Weyr."

"I think so too sir." He smiled. If only the Master Harper knew. In Dirwol's mind he saw a beautiful young goldrider, with the stars in her eyes and the sun in her smile.
