He has a very nondescript appearance, which made it easy for him to go unnoticed when he was listening in on other people's conversations. He has shoulder length black hair and sharp clear blue eyes. What he lacked in height he more than made up in intelligence.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Dirwol is a seeker of knowledge. He has a love of knowing what is going on. His way of blending in allowed him to learn about others before they learned about him. As a person he had a loner's personality. Because of this he never really had luck with the fairer ones of Pern.

History of Persona:
Dirwol grew up in a small mountain hold. He lived with his mother and father until he was 13 turns old. He then sought out an apprenticeship at the Harper Hall. He did well there. He was an apt student and worked hard on everything set before him. He loved reporting everything he learned, from over hearing things, to those in charge. He also had the ability to learn fast and retain the info he learned.

During a nasty storm, and while being sent to assist one of his fellow Journeymen, Dirwol had to take shelter quickly. He was close to the ocean and worried about the water coming in. he was lucky to find a cavern in the cliffside. The problem was he had to go as far in it as he could. He was surprised to find a clutch of flit's eggs inside. He watched in horror as the water invaded his small alcove. In a matter of moments it was far to close to the clutch for his comfort. He thought quickly and grabbed as many as he could. He was lucky that the clutch was small due to having had several of the eggs pilfered by tunnelsnakes. He brought the six or so eggs into the farthest corner of the cave and put his jacket about them.

He had a small traveling sack with him and pulled out his evening meal. As he set about getting ready to eat he heard a crack. He looked up in surprise as the eggs began to hatch. he watched in fascination as the first five hatched and headed to the cave mouth. He suddenly realized that the storm outside might be too fierce for them. He was to late for the first few but reacted before the last three left. He quickly started offering them his own food. About the time he ran out of food the storm settled and the three newly hatched flits were able to fly out to find more food.

He smiled as he lay back to rest. He fell asleep and was surprised to find warm bodies about him when he woke. He looked in amazement at the two bodies he woke with. One was a handsome blue the color of the deep ocean on a crystal clear day. The other was the biggest surprise. Lying curled in the cruck of his arm was the warmest golden body he had every seen.

After he was finished getting himself out of the cavern he made his way back to the hall to find that it had had a great fire. He joined those that were on their way to their new destination and made it to the Weyr. There he was approached by a green rider and told that if he wished to he could stand. He accepted the honor, figuring that if he didn't impress he would be more than happy to remain with his hall and do his best to remain nondescript. Well, as nondescript as you can be with a flit of gold.

Dirwol was surprised to find himself falling in love with a goldrider. She became very important to him. Then came the day that he had dreamed of and yet feared at the same time. On the hatching grounds he finally found a lifemate. Memereth impressed on him in all his brown glory.
