Notes:

Ty’dis wedged a hand between the fronts of his riding leathers. Pressing the back of it outwards, against the modified extra leather strap he had tightened over the top during drill practice. The added pressure created slack in the leather enabling his other hand to undo the hardware on the outside; letting his shoulder and ribs down from the make shift sling. He stretched the healing shoulder out and across his chest a few times, testing the range of motion and feeling for where the muscles caught and tensed. All questions the healer would ask when they ran him through the paces; needless to say these sevenday check-ins were somewhat grating.

“Oi Tree; I saw that,” the bluerider’s voice was accompanied by the sound of him swinging down from his dragon’s straps. There was both concern and an 'I told you so' attitude in the tone that he wouldn’t hide from anyone. Especially his friend.

“And you were too close in that last drill,” interrupted the bronzerider. Knowing exactly what Az’uka was referring too and where the so called lecture would take them. He was already pulling his gloves off and could basically hear the older rider start his rebuttal before it happened “Anyone who didn’t know you and Nilzuth could fly close could have given you a face full of flame for your trouble.”

“That’s hardly the point here!” was the flash of anger laced with concern. Az’uka stepped around the taller man's gait in order to face Ty’dis. Glaring pointedly at his friend’s shoulder. “When did you last see a healer?”

“_Az’uka_” the rider pinched the bridge of his nose against the headache the other rider was bound to give him. The man was _really_ making a fuss over nothing. Strapping the old injury was not set back he was implying. Rather it was considered support. Preventative even, when it came to a backwards slide in recovery. It was also _only_ for the last pass of the drill. He was still adapting to his limitations; and trying to get _any_ clearance to fly Fall again. But having his friend blow up over one firestone bag toss was not going to help matters. “I think you should be more concerned about how much of your hide the Weyrleader is going to be after. Kaytath might know you, but you don’t need to be in the straps with me”

Their discussion had escorted them across the Weyrbowl -- perhaps ironically -- in the direction that Az'uka was so insistent that Ty'dis was ignoring; the infirmary. It was despite Az'uka's melding intentions; he had forgotten his friend's schedule. Along with the fact that Ty'dis already had an appointment scheduled with the Weyrhealer. One which he knew better than to be late for. In fact the bronzerider hadn't missed a single one in his long recovery. Even so; it was Az'uka that pushed open the door to the Master's office, just as Ty'dis had attempted to pause and knock

Alyndra was enjoying a quiet day in her office to catch up on hidework and reading the latest missives from the new Healer Hall when she heard a commotion outside. Sighing, she put the report she was reading aside and composed her face for when the door to her office opened. "Ah, Ty'dis, you're early," the Weyrhealer said blandly. Turning her dark green eyes on the man next to him, she added in the same tone, "And you weren't expected at all."

Sarcasm was not lost on Az'uka; the bluerider just chose to try and swing his way around it. Swooping himself into a fake and over-embellished bow. Physically trying to plead that he was only here in service to the healer in question. "Lady Alyndra; I am only making sure my friend does his due diligence and comes and sees you when hurt."

"It’s Master Alyndra," Ty'dis corrected from the door jamb as Az'uka proceeded to try and take over the whole situation. Leaning slightly against the wall he nodded politely -- and apologetically to the woman in question. While giving his friend a far too common sideways look of utter disbelief. Az'uka was always too much; as well meaning as it was in some circumstances, it was also tiring. The bronzerider didn’t need the older man trying to run his life. "That said," He straightened himself, stepped in behind Az'uka; and reached for the collar of the bluerider’s riding jacket. Basically scruffing him like a Feline would with its young, "I don't believe the Master invited you in"

Az'uka grinned, in that classic shit-eating way that proved he was only going to take such comments as a challenge. "I hardly doubt the Master is going to let you leave knowing you are hurt" it was a pointed remark.vClearly the bluerider knew his wording had effectively staked his friend out. While completely disregarding the healer’s comments mere moments ago; that bronzerider actually already had an appointment. He twisted out of his friends grasp as they cleared the doorway back into the hall. Even so he stayed wedged in Ty'dis personal space; as if trying to physically force the younger rider to step back into the Healers quarters. He glanced pointedly at his friend again. "Someone has to keep you in line," He remarked, flashing a smile at Alyndra. One that seemed to say 'am I right?' As if Ty'dis was some wayward rider who would avoid the infirmary at all costs. "These bronzeriders don't know what is good for them."

"_Thankyou_ Az'uka" Ty'dis intoned, clearly done with his friend. Knowing all too well just where these shenanigans could lead. Being a man to naturally stand on ceremony the bronzerider's stance in the hall had shifted. One foot against the outside wall so he wouldn't enter the Master's quarters without being invited. Az'uka might have had no issues with brazenly charging around the place; but Ty'dis was always one to respect boundaries. "I'm sure you are meant to be cleaning up after that drill."

The bluerider shrugged indifferently but backed up a pace or two. He glanced between his friend and the other rider for a moment, before giving another slight bow to the healer. Only when he was sure that he had spurred the two into some kind of action did he start making his way out of the infirmary.

Throughout the men's exchange, Alyndra simply sat at her desk, hands folded in front of her, and looked bored. She'd long since learned that people like Az'uka were likely to consider any attention good attention, and had no inclination to encourage any further interruptions or shenanigans by letting him see her get riled up. Once the bluerider was gone, she said pleasantly, "Well, why don't you have a seat, Ty'dis? How are your practices going? Any trouble beyond what is to be expected?" She'd been blunt in her expectations when she'd given them to the bronzerider. Recovery, if it was possible, would be long and painful.

Ty'dis paused in the doorway for a long moment, watching his friend go. Not because he regretted it, but, because he wanted to make sure the bluerider was out of earshot before he said anything. Especially anything that might give the older rider reason to be more annoying. Something which always seemed like a distinct possibility with Az'uka. A silent sigh and rolling of his eyes at the bluerider in question he pulled his attentions back to the Master Healer as she spoke. Given the demands on her time he had expected that she would have made him wait for the time formerly allotted. That seemed unnecessary, as she accommodated his arrival based on the fact she was not currently with another person in need of her skills. He gave a grateful nod; shot one last look across the infirmary for any sight of the bluerider, and stepped over the threshold. Closing the door behind him. It only took a few steps to cross to the Master's desk and take a seat as she had requested of him. The questions weren't exactly rapid fire, but they reminded him that the Weyrhealer was not one for messing about and wasting time. A trait which he had grown to more than respect over the last Turn.

"I fear it’s starting to plateau sooner than we expected," came the honest answer; one he had been hiding from Az'uka and his melding. There was also a weight in his words that spoke of his own frustrations. A lot of the Healers he had seen, all had long or no expectations on a full recovery. If there was to be any turn around in his grounded and Weyrbound status remained up in the air. No one wanted to promise anything. A Turn, or more, for recovery was no joke. Now that some headway was being made, it felt like progress kept stalling when you looked at it wrong. Sure enough, many of the expectations had been drawn from injures that were similar, but not exactly the same. He was behind some on some milestones and ahead of others. Everyone involved in the journey had their own two marks worth to say. If nothing else, the mechanics interested him enough that he was able to oversee and understand his recovery. Without wasting the time of Masters who had been keeping a steady watch on him. He glanced down at the modified straps over his left shoulder, and shook his head a little. "Az'uka means well; but he struggles to understand everything that is going on."

Turning the questions posed to him the brozerider let his head lower into his hands. Palms pressed into his temples as he tried to sift through his thoughts. He remained stuck; perpetually grounded, indefinitely. An acknowledgement that whenever it surfaced gave way to spiralling frustrations. That rapidly became so palpable, that air around him seemed to vibrate with it. }:Ty’dis:{ the word broke though and the bronzerider let out a breath he didn’t know he had been holding. **I’m fine** was the issued reassurance as he corralled his thoughts. Slowing his breathing to do so. The first breath out had his hands lowering into a steeple position under his chin. With the second settling enough to convince Kaytath to return to dosing on the dragon couch. A third had him lowering his hands and regarding the Master again. Having avoiding the majority of her questions thus far.

"Practices remain predictable as being a Weyrling. Actually drills remain more of a problem as I am either too far ahead of what the Weyrlingmasters expect of a helper or too far behind of what the Wings require," he paused and put the thoughts together more coherently "In short, Master Alyndra; there is not enough of a challenge to bridge the basics of day to day and the load of Fighting Fall." What he left out was the fact that he still had to earn permission to /between/ again before any Fighting Wing would even consider him viable.

"Well, you don't need drills to build strength, of course," Alyndra said, "the important thing is rebuilding the muscle, and you can do that on the ground. You don't need to be on a dragon to lift weights and practice catching firestone- I'm sure your overly nosey friend would enjoy throwing things at you," she said dryly.
