I Like Trouble (Part 2)

Description: Gaiya and L'cian continue their reunion and agree to keep it going.
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 13, day 18 of Turn 3

L'cian pulled Gaiya a little closer as the sun dipped below the horizon,
dying the sky brilliant golds and reds. They'd spent most of the
afternoon laying together on the beach, holding onto one another and
kissing now and again, but now it was growing cold and L'cian could tell
Gaiya was feeling the chill.

He kissed her temple lightly. "Would you like to head back?"

**No...** There was nothing back at the Weyr waiting for her but a
broken relationship, and a comatose father-figure. "I wouldn't mind
staying here with you a little longer," she said, wrapping her arms
tighter around him and burying her head under his chin.

L'cian sighed slightly as she did so; he'd missed her. "All right - as
long as you're not going to freeze while we're out here." He knew she'd
been through a lot lately and wanted to be there for her as much as he
could.

"I have a body to keep me warm," she said with a small smile. "But...
if you're cold we could go somewhere warmer..."

"I've have a new bottle of wine back at my weyr; we can open it and
catch up somewhere more comfortable... No big deal, just friends
catching up."

"I'd like that." **Anywhere but my weyr...**

As the walked in comfortable silence back to his weyr, L'cian wondered
just what had changed between them - they had been so upset with one
another not so long ago but now... things were different. "How are you,
Gaiya?"

She gave him a smile that never reached her eyes. "Just fine. And you?
How is that big, beautiful bronze of yours? Has he caught many greens
lately?"

L'cian sighed. "No, Gaiya, I mean really - how have you been?"

"I'm... fine, really."

The bronzerider know that that probably wasn't the truth, but he also
know that he probably wasn't going to get the truth out of her. She'd
come around when she was ready. "All right then. Just know that even
though we've... been through a lot lately, I'll still be here for you if
you need someone."

"Thank you, L'cian. I... I'll remember that," she said, giving him a
small smile. What she needed someone right was just to be held, and
kissed, and cuddled. The two men she should have been able to look to
were either to absorbed in themself, or comatose. She just needed to
feel protected and wanted.

"Would you like to... stay with me tonight? No intentions, of course,
but... you're welcome to sleep here."

"L'cian," she smiled softly as she wrapped her arm around his waist,
"after the way you kissing me down on the beach today, I _hope_ you have
intentions."

The bronzerider grinned boyishly. "Well, yea, but I'm not supposed to
just _say_ it!"

"I'd forgive you," she chuckled.

"Just stay with me."

Gaiya felt the slight chill of doubt. Frowning slightly she asked, "Are
you sure you won't regret it tomorrow? You have in the past."

L'cian pulled her closer. "I know, but not this time and never again."

She wrapped her arms around him and laid her head against his chest.
Shards but it felt good to be so wanted. "I'll stay," she finally
murmured.
