Aishara

Aishara

Aishara watched the dragonet with dismay. She didn't know whether to laugh or cry. "You want me sit here while you sleep? Can't you sleep alone? I need to eat too," she asked again. "And would you let go of my hem?"

}: No, you're mine. I want you near, :{ Ayumith said stubbornly, Aishara's dress hem still between her teeth.

Aishara looked around helplessly. She had no candidate training before impression, how did one deal with these situations?

Dysali appeared just then, to the rescue so to speak. "Welcome, Ayumith!" She said firstly, to the lovely green. Then to her newly Impressed rider, "Aishara, is it? I asked your father." She nodded in the direction of the Hatching Grounds. "I'm Dysali, rider of green Lillyth and a member of the Weyrlingstaff here." Her smile bubbled brightly and her warmth was catching. "Lillyth and I
will help!" She began by leaning down toward the dress hem caught in the dragonet's teeth.

Lillyth was already speaking to the newly Hatched Ayumith, trying to make her understand she needed to go to her couch, and hers needed to eat too, and have a full tummy like Ayumith's. The older green was speaking from the fire heights, heer eyes whirling excitedly. She _would_ help!

"Yes, I'm Aishara. Thank's. I don't know much about dragons. I wasn't even searched!" Aishara said. She was still bewildered by the sudden change in her life.

"Well, you were found by the little green there. Its very rare, but they always know, Aishara. So, rest assured that she, immediately out of her shell, knew you would make the perfect rider for her, so you will learn. Do not worry. We will take good care of you and you will learn all you need to know."

She paused. Lillyth seemed to be succeeding in her speaking with the young one, and the hem was let go. "For now, these are the things you must remember: her care comes before yours, she will need to eat several times a day at first, and after today you have to cut up your own meat for her, you need to keep any strong emotions as under control as you can for now, she will get confused at something too strong in you, except perhaps love of her. Bond with her, talk to her, strengthen your partnership all you can, and classes begin tomorrow."

Dysali took a breath then and said "Whew! That's a lot of stuff! I know you must have 100 questions! Lillyth and I will stay with you until you're comfortable, if you like. Ask away!"

"Right on but I don't know where to start!" Aishara laughed, her natural cheeriness showing. She patted the green. "I came here to see my cousin Stand and I only brought a small over-night bag with me."

Dysali grinned broadly at that, it was one thing she could immediately fix.
"The Weyr will supply you with whatever you need, lass, until you can have things sent from home. Once we see your green beauty to bed on her new couch, feel free to arrange with your Father to have whatever you need sent here. Mind, though, that for the first several months, you have only what room the Weyrling barracks gives for belongings. Beyond that, we can see the Headwoman
for clothing, and I will personally see that you have a hide of your schedule and that you get a tour of the Weyr this very evening, if you like."

The bubbly greenrider came to another halt. Once she got going, she was hard to stop.

"First thing is to get your lovely new lifemate into her bed."

"How, she doesn't seem to be sleepy at all?" Aishara asked. The green was watching her with swirling eyes.

"You fed her right? Give it just a short time. Once she's settled on her couch, she'll drift right off. Let's go to the barracks and get you two settled."

**Lillyth, help the little one along with you? If she needs it... ***

"She ate an amazing mount of meat," Aishara said.

"As she should, Aishara." Dysali grinned as they headed into the barracks. Pointing to the rows of cots and couches on the female side, she went on, "Choose one, Ayumith.." to the little green. Lillyth was still in her spot on the heights, but said she would come to the bowl if Dysali wanted.

"This will be your new home for the next several months!"

}: This one looks cozy, :{ Ayumith said and climbed into a couch. She wiggled around a little before finding a nice position.
Aishara tossed her overnight-bag to the cot adjacent to it.
"I guess this is where we be living then," she said and looked around curiously.
She never seen communal barracks before. When she and her father stayed at the Weyr, they slept on her grandmother's weyr.

"You'll find it well enough, Aishara. Not too close quarters on the girl's side; there are usually less girls than boys in the barracks. And eventually, when Ayumith gets too big for her couch, and you become Senior Weyrlings, you'll have your own weyr. I enjoyed my time in the barracks, although I was so tired, many nights I just fell to sleep and was up with dawn the next morning!"

Aishara nodded. "Where do we wash up?" she asked. Behind her, her green was yawning.

"We'll stop by the bathing cavern on our way, you can wash while I get you some clothes and things from the Headwoman, then you'll be ready to attend the Hatching feast!"

"Okay," Aishara said. "Look, now she's sleeping! Like a pup, one moment wide awake, next soundly asleep," she remarked.

"Exactly so, Aishara. And she will be fine sleeping right here for several candlemarks. Lets get you to the bathing chamber now, and I'll find you some clothing!"

**Thank you beloved, for your help.** She sent to Lillyth, who was watching for them to come out.

"Let's go then, dad and granma are probably waiting me impatiently," Aishara said.
