Almonteo

Almonteo

"Hello, Hallmaster," Eilomar greeted jovially. He was on good mood. The performance had gone well, it was Turnover Gather and he had plenty of good food and drink.

"Congratulations on a resounding success, Master Eilomar," Almonteo smiled as he reached a hand out to the choral master. He knew that, despite the man's disposition, he was the right man for the job.

"Thank you. The second part started too slow and there were singers in the choir who didn't quite stay in rhythm, but in general, it went well," Eilomar beamed.

"Oh, I think the audience was impressed! I think it made it all the more special that they were their own. But certainly none but you could pull that kind of sound from them, Eilomar." It didn't hurt to give the man a boost to his ego. Perhaps it would mean he would go a little
easier on the riders in the future.

"Thank you," Eilomar smiled. "By the way, have you seen my wife? She went to pick some more wine and it's taken her awfully long."

The woman in question had found a cute young dragonrider. The fact that he was younger than her daughters, didn't not stop the drunk harper's wife. She had managed to pin him so, that he couldn't escape. At least not politely, without violence. "Come now, give me a kiss, cutie. I know
you want", Ailowyn coaxed her target.

"Please, woman, I told you, I am here with someone," R'mer cringed away but couldn't move far with that pillar against his back.

"You're dragonrider, you people don't care about such, you're all whores," Ailowyn said with loud voice.

"What?!" R'mer might be a dragonrider, and yes, he might be having sex with Isie when she's not weyrmated, but _men_ were never whores. "Speak for yourself, you old bovine!"

"Don't call me bovine, you brat! I'm a mature woman in her prime!"
Their loud voices attracted attention.

"Well then what are you looking at me for? Go find yourself a man your own age." Shards, R'mer would have thought a Harper's wife would know how to control herself a bit better.

"There she is," Eilomar finally spotted his errant wife. "Shards, what is she doing?" he asked.

"Um, well..." Almonteo didn't want to point out the obvious and embarrass the man.

"Get your hand out of my shirt," R'mer squirmed, batting the woman's hand away.

Eilomar let out a long suffering sigh. "I better stop her before she disgraces herself even more. Pardon me, Hallmaster."

"But of course." The Hallmaster stood rooted to the spot, absolutely fascinated by the spectacle before him. And they had been worried about the _dragonriders_ not behaving...

Eilomar marched to his wife and grapped her arm. "Ailowyn! What are you doing? Shame on you, shame!" He scolded.
Ailowyn peered drunkenly him and breathed wine-fumes to his face.
"Shards, how drunk you are," the harper growled. "Let's go home, you need to sleep it off."

"L'go'r of me", she snarled. "You old, fat bag of wind! I want man!"

"Really Ailowyn," her husband said with disapproving voice. That voice turned apprentices to a jelly. "He's not a man, but a boy. I teach lads older than him. Leave him be." The master harper turned to R'mer. "I apologize for my wife. She's too drunk to know what she's doing."

"Excuse me, but I am no boy," R'mer growled. He might be young, but he is not a _child_!

Eilomar ignored him. He had his hands full of struggling wife. She twisted and slapped her. "Ailowyn! What's matter with you? You're making fool of yourself,"
Eilomar bellowed. He had never hit a woman in his life, but now he was awfully tempted to slap her back.

"Excuse me, Master Eilomar, but may I be of assistance?" the Hallmaster asked, decided this was not nearly so amusing now that it was attracting the attention of more than a few onlookers. Considering all the grief that the Hall had given dragonriders about immorale behavior, the
Hallmaster was sure that seeing the Harpers have to deal with one of their own would be quite the spectacle...

"Well, hello, Hallmaster. Care for some sex," Ailowyn purred and suggested. Eilomar was more than shocked and outraged. His face switched between red and pale.

"We need to get her out of here," he said.

"Yes, indeed," Almonteo agreed vehemently. "Would you come with us, my dear lady?" he asked, offering her his arm and giving her his most charming grin.

"I'll go anywhere with you," Ailowyn chirped to him. Eilomar nearly chocked.

R'mer was happy to see the wherry escorted out. Shards, what was it with women in the Weyr that made them think that any advance is appropriet and appreciated. With a final disapproving shake of his head he walked towards the ale table, his original target.
