Dessert

Characters: V'con, N'kalen
Description: V'con & N'kalen have a chat over a meal...and go for dessert.
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 1, day 3 of Turn 4

It was obviously a tunic for a lady. Pink, floaty and perhaps better suited to a young lady of the blood than a weyrling dragonrider. But it looked and felt good, that was what mattered to the tailor who wore their own creation. Even if the exercise and caring for a dragon had built up muscle, it was still loose enough to hint at what might lie beneath...

There was just one problem, thought V'con as he admired his image in the looking glass. It needed to be a bit longer, but he could take the hem down another time.

**I'm going to get something to eat,** he told his blue, before heading down to the dining caverns.

N'kalen had just picked up a tray in the dining cavern when he heard snickering behind him. He turned, and saw a very attractive younger man in a very pink tunic walking his way. He paused until the man was closer to him, and placed all his appreciation into one word, "Hello..."

"Hello yourself," replied V'con. He'd ignored the snickering, after all just wait until their bronze's caught male ridden greens. Besides, being a dragonrider it didn't matter what he wore when he fought thread, he and Cacholetyth were more than their equals then.

"I'm N'kalen," the senior bluerider said as he slowly smiled. "I don't think I have had the pleasure of meeting you before this."

"V'con," came the reply as he introduced himself. "Cacholetyth's weyrling."

N'kalen smiled even more. V'con was a nice sounding name, and matched with a rather attractive package, the day was looking up. "So, where did you get that lovely creation?"

"My own work," a hand reached up to pull his knots into view. "Weyrling, bluerider and Journeyman tailor."

"Oh, so beautiful, tallented and a rider...What an interesting package. Would you care to follow me to a table?"

"Think I could manage that," replied V'con with a grin. Maybe this evening would lead somewhere after all.

N'kalen led the way to what could be considered a quiet table in the middle of a weyr and settled down on one of the benches. Tural popped in and settled around N'kalen's shoulders with a quiet peep. "V'con, this little wherry is Tural. He appears to be behaving today."

"He's cute," replied the Weyrling with a cheery grin. **And so's his owner,** he thought.

"Don't let that fool you. This one gets into a world of trouble, and to top that off, he's clumsy." N'kalen took a bite of his food and gasped in suprise. "It's not only edible, it is actually good! We must have a new cook!"

"It does seem to be getting better recently."

"The only thing better than the food is your outstanding company." N'kalen leaned a little closer to the other rider.

V'con leaned in closer as well. "Are you flirting with me bluerider?" he asked softly.

N'kalen slowly smiled, charmingly. "Would you like me to, beautiful?"

"We've been /between/," was the reply. Let him make of that what he liked, but the invitation was implicit.

"Then I think we should finish eating here, and go for...dessert...in my weyr," N'kalen suggested.

"What kind of 'dessert' did you have in mind?"

"You. For candlemarks."

"And what do I get?" His voice was low, husky, pitched for N'kalen's ears alone.

N'kalen leaned forward until his lips brushed V'con's ears. "Me. For candlemarks."

"Then why are we waiting?"

"We're not. We're leaving, now." N'kalen stood and extended his hand to V'con.

The weyrling took it, at least the evening now had promise...
