N'kalen sighed as he waited outside K'deren's office. He had a feeling this conversation would not be pleasant. He and Myanth had taken just a minor threadscore during the last fall, but the Wingsecond tended to frown on such matters. Myanth sent a flood of love and acceptance. }:Do not worry. Donneth's knows it was just a minor score.:{ **Go back to sleep you. I am fine, and not _that_ worried.** He felt Myanth settle back down.
"Come in!"
N'kalen stood, and entered the Wingsecond's office. "Greetings Sir, my duty to your dragon."
"Take a seat bluerider."
N'kalen quietly sat in the chair indicated by the Wingsecond. This was _not_ going to be pretty.
"So tell me what happened out there, in your own words please."
N'kalen thought for a moment. "Well Sir, we were in formation, and had just flamed a large clump. We were banking slightly right, and didn't realize how close we were, and the strand that caught us just grazed us.
We immediately went /between/. We each have a minor score."
"Did you realise how close behind you some of the weyrlings bringing up firestone were?"
"No Sir, not until after we had banked."
"It's fortunate that the youngster had very quick reactions. He's escaped with a minor score, and a wake up call to what's coming."
N'kalen nodded. "Real life experience is always good for the weyrlings, Sir."
"I won't disagree with you there. However, I was informed that this was something that could have been avoided."
"It...Well...Myanth and I could have been more aware of what was going on behind us, Sir."
"Yes, you could. Both of you should have been, you've been flying long enough now that it should start to become second nature to be that aware of the space around you."
"Yes Sir. We just...got a bit caught up in the moment."
"I see," K'deren thought for a moment. "Well as a result of this, I think that you should certainly address the Weyrlings about this, with Y'sani's permission of course."
N'kalen groaned inwardly. Weyrling duty! Shards! "Yes Sir, of course."
"See that they understand why you are there."
"Yes Sir, I will Sir."
"I'll notify Y'sani that you'll be going to speak to him to organise this."
"Yes Sir, thank you Sir."
"N'kalen," began K'deren. "Don't let me have to do this again."
**Let him do it!? Shards, I was the one who got threadscored!** "No, Sir, it won't happen again."
"Good, you're dismissed."
